❗️🇷🇺🇺🇦 Highlights of Russian Military Operation in Ukraine on March 20
▪️Regular shelling of the border areas in the Sudzhansky district of Kursk region continues unabated.
The AFU launched a mortar strike on the villages of Guevo and Gornal’, no civilian casualties or destruction.
▪️In the Lyman sector, positional fighting in the area of the Balka Zhuravka and to the west of Ploshchanka is underway.
Russian troops are consolidating on previously occupied positions and firing artillery at AFU positions near the Zherebets’ River.
▪️Northwest of Bakhmut, Wagner PMC groups continue their assault on the AFU’s stronghold in Orekhovo-Vasilevka.
The enemy is taking heavy mortar and artillery fire on the attacking units, trying to disrupt the pace of the offensive.
▪️On the southern outskirts of the city, the Wagner PMC units advanced in the area of Sobachevka, levelling the zone of control along Mariupolska Street.
At the same time, in the Budonnivka area, Russian troops approached the outskirts of the stadium, forcing the enemy to retreat.
▪️On the outskirts of Krasne, fierce fighting for control of the Kostyantynivka - Bakhmut highway is going on.
Having redeployed reserve forces and armored vehicles, the enemy managed to slightly push the assault units away from the road.
▪️Ukrainian units continue indiscriminate strikes on residential areas and infrastructure of Donetsk agglomeration.
In Kuybyshevsky district, the shelling damaged three residential buildings, one was destroyed completely, no casualties among the population.
▪️North of Avdiivka, Russian forces broke through the AFU defenses and entrenched on the eastern outskirts of Petrivske.
To the southeast, the Russian Armed Forces’ units entered Kamyanka and began to storm enemy positions inside the populated area

🔻 Border areas:
▪️Ukrainian formations from mortars shelled the village of Kurkovichi in the Bryansk region : two residential buildings were damaged. There were temporary problems with the power supply in the village.
▪️In the Kursk region, the enemy attacked the villages of Guevo and Gornal : civilians were not injured, there was no damage.
▪️Russian air defense systems worked near the city of Dzhankoy in the Republic of Crimea : fragments of downed drones fell on the private sector and a grocery store, one man was injured.
🔻Starobelsk direction:
▪️The situation has not changed significantly: artillery duels and positional battles continue along the line of contact.
🔻Soledar direction:
▪️In the north-west of Bakhmut, units of the Wagner PMC are storming the defensive lines of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Orekhovo-Vasilevka .
▪️In Bakhmut itself, fierce street fighting continues: Russian forces are expanding their zone of control in the northern and southern districts of the city.
➖In the north, the “Wagnerites” established control over the territory of the nursery and construction warehouse “Fantasy”, and also reached Alexandra Kolpakova Avenue.
➖In the south, Wagner PMC fighters are fighting near the Avangard stadium and moving towards Mariupolskaya Street in the Sobachevsky district.
▪️To the south-west, fighting continues on the approaches to the Konstantinovka - Bakhmut highway and the outskirts of Krasnoe .
🔻Donetsk direction :
▪️To the north of Avdiivka, Russian troops broke through the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine west of Krasnogorovka and entrenched themselves on the eastern outskirts of Petrovsky
➖South-east, units of the RF Armed Forces entered Kamenka and proceeded to storm the enemy positions inside the settlement.
▪️To the south, Russian servicemen broke through the enemy fortifications north of Opytny , approaching the southwestern outskirts of Avdiivka : at the moment, fighting is taking place on the outskirts of the ninth quarter.
▪️Ukrainian formations from cannon and rocket artillery shelled Donetsk and Oleksandrivka : residential buildings were damaged, civilians were not injured.
➖Local residents reported about the fall of an unidentified air object in the Kievsky district of the capital of the DPR.
🔻Zaporozhye direction:
▪️After an unsuccessful reconnaissance in force in the Orekhovsky sector, the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine switched to positional battles.
➖Russian artillery conducts aimed fire at the approaching enemy reinforcements.
🔻 Southern Front. Kherson direction:
▪️ Mutual shelling continues along the entire line of contact: the Russian Armed Forces attacked the places of concentration of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kherson , Otradokamenka and Tyaginka .
In turn, the Ukrainian formations fired on the left bank of the Kherson region : residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in Nova Kakhovka were also under attack.

❗️ 🇷🇺 🇺🇦 About Ukrainian UAV raid on Dzhankoy
Tonight, another massive strike by Ukrainian UAVs was carried out on the Crimean peninsula. At least six UAVs of the Mugin-5 type, equipped with explosives, were used against Dzhankoy .
As a result, two drones were shot down by the crew of the Pantsir air defense missile system, and two fell on administrative buildings near the railway station. A fifth destroyed a grocery store, while shrapnel from a sixth damaged private houses on Yuzhnaya , Gagarin and Chekhov streets.
The map shows the approximate areas of destruction and impact of drones, based on data from open sources.
🔻 What was the purpose of the Armed Forces of Ukraine?
Initially, information was received that the Ukrainian formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched drones from the Shkolny airfield (Odessa) to strike at the Russian military airfield. However, judging by the area of application of the UAV, an attempt was made to hit the station building and the railway track.
Dzhankoy is the main transit hub for the Russian group in Crimea. Railway lines to Sevastopol and mainland Russia pass through urban station, and an attempt to strike at the object looks logical.
Despite the statements of the GUR of Ukraine that the train with Kalibr cruise missiles was hit as a result of the attack, this is not so. In the event of a defeat of a train with such weapons, at least a secondary detonation would be visible - there are no consequences of the explosion.
In addition, when launching drones over a long distance, the Armed Forces, as a rule, fill in the coordinates in advance to increase the noise immunity of electronic warfare equipment. It is extremely difficult to hit a moving train in this way.
🔻Information support
After the first sounds of the explosion and the activation of air defense in the Dzhankoy city chat rooms, Ukrainian information desks began to work actively, misinforming the population and causing panic.
Various Telegram channels (for example, Trukha and Insider) published posts about a dozen explosions in various parts of the city. These reports were accompanied by criticism of Chinese President Xi Jinping , who arrived in Moscow the day before.
At the same time, the Western agenda was worked out with the condemnation of the activities of the Chinese government. The attempted strike on the Crimea was presented as a "punishment for friendship with China."
🔻Differences from previous promotions
The Armed Forces of Ukraine once again changed tactics. The attack was carried out without reconnaissance aircraft from NATO countries : at night, neither the Global Hawk nor the Reaper worked in the air.
