❗️🇷🇺🇺🇦 Highlights of Russian Military Operation in Ukraine on April 12
▪️Ukrainian artillery continues to strike at the border areas of Belgorod Region.
As a result of the shelling of Novostroyevka-Vtoraya and Staryi Khutor, several residential buildings were damaged and one person was wounded.
▪️Russian paratroopers, supported by artillery and heavy flamethrower systems, stormed AFU stronghold in the forest south of Kreminna.
The successful offensive resulted in the destruction of several enemy strongholds.
▪️In Soledar sector, airborne troops have taken up positions near Mykolaivka and Vasyukivka.
Paratroopers are tasked with flank coverage the Russian grouping in Bakhmut assault.
▪️In the north of Bakhmut, Wagner PMC fighters continue their offensive, advancing towards Bakhmut-2 railway station.
At the same time, the liberation of the grain elevator, which has been turned into one of AFU defence hubs, is being completed.
▪️Fierce street battles continue in the centre of the city, the enemy is trying to cling to literally every house.
Nevertheless, Wagner PMC assault squads managed to shift the front line to the area of Dev'yatoho Travnya St.
▪️In Mar'inka, Russian motorized riflemen supported by armoured vehicles are engaged in intense fighting in the city centre.
Infantry units are provided with fire cover by tank crews destroying AFU defensive positions in residential areas.
▪️The Kyiv regime continues its indiscriminate shelling of towns and settlements in Donbas.
Volodymyrivka, as well as Kuibyshivs'kyi and Petrovs'kyi districts of Donetsk were hit. Civilian infrastructure was damaged and one person was wounded.

Why the Armed Forces of Ukraine reinforce the German Leopards with Soviet dynamic protection
The main model of the Leopard tank, which NATO countries transfer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, is 2A4. This car was produced from 1985 to 1992.
These are not the most protected vehicles in NATO forces. Turkey lost a lot of 2A4 tanks in 2016 in Syria, where Kurds and IS militants (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) destroyed vehicles using old Soviet Konkurs ATGMs.
Tank shots, especially DM33 shells that use flammable gunpowder, are one of the main problems of the German Leopard 2A4.
Hit of a cumulative projectile or rocket in the front of the hull or the rear of the tower can provoke the detonation of ammunition and the death of the crew.
Leopard 2A4, unlike later versions, did not receive any additional hinged armor or dynamic protection.
The thickness of the side part of its hull is equivalent to 400 mm of rolled homogeneous armor, while at least 700 mm is needed for effective protection against cumulative projectiles.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are aware of the weak protection of German tanks and are trying to cover up weak points with the help of the Soviet first-generation dynamic protection "Kontakt-1". It was put into service in 1985, with its help the T-55AMV, T-62MV, T-64B and T-72 tanks were finalized in the USSR.
Most of the units "Contact-1" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are supposedly installed on the sides of the Leopard 2A4 tanks and in the front of the hull, since it is necessary to protect not only the fighting compartment, but also the engine compartment.
According to preliminary data, the gun mantlet, driver's and commander's hatches, commander's periscope and gunner's observation device located on the roof of the Leopard 2A4 will also receive additional protection. As a result of such an upgrade, the tank can add from 1 to 1.5 tons of mass.
If this protection is not enough, in the near future the Armed Forces of Ukraine may add lattice anti-cumulative screens to the body of the Leopard 2A4.

The use of industrial enterprises for the storage of weapons, military equipment, ammunition and fuel is a common practice for Ukrainian formations. Apparently, the blow of the Russian Aerospace Forces hit just one of the points of deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the same time, in recent days, enemy activity has increased in the Kherson and Berislav sectors - columns of military equipment were moving from Nikolaev , Bashtanka and Krivoy Rog to the Dnieper.
Ukrainian formations are preparing for an offensive, during which attempts at local attacks in the Kherson direction with the crossing of the Dnieper are inevitable. According to some information, the command of the grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is concentrating forces at the line of Golaya Pristan - Kherson - Novaya Kakhovka .

Rumours of a 'faltering' AFU reserve in and around Artemovsk are not true; everyday, they pour hundreds into the meat grinder to make up for losses. These losses come at a cost however; as men who were deployed for the 'AFU 2023 Spring Counteroffensive' are being redeployed from their sectors towards Artemovsk. The Battle of Artemovsk is significantly delaying their counteroffensive and also depleting their weapons storage.
Almost 35% of all AFU resources are dedicated to the Artemovsk area (Siversk, Toretsk incl.); which comprises of 6 different tactical groups (15k each or 90,000 men total); and the amount of Ukrainians nearby to Artemovsk are increasing; as they are pulling from Marinka, Ugledar, Kherson, and Kupyansk. The daily losses of the AFU in Artemovsk are now reaching close to the figure of 1,250 (av.) and can even reach closer to 2,500 on some days.
In compensation, they are scrapping the barrel in Central and Eastern Ukraine, furiously recruiting women, teenagers (rare cases: children), and the disabled. They throw people in the Artemovsk Meat Grinder with no remorse; and the remaining Ukrainian population will be significantly depleted if this continues. Our sources have identified nearby to 12,000 (visually confirmed) losses in and around Artemovsk.
But rumors of them losing the 'motive' to keep Artemovsk, and it is completely false to say this. They are killing thousands of their own to hold onto this strategically significant city. Those who call themselves 'bringers of information' should strive to provide true information on these events, because if they don't, they will be misleading many.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Maliar, imagined herself to be Reznikov and undertook to assess what was happening at the front, blaming the “evil Russian” for everything. By the way, earlier Ganna Malyar “sanctioned” only the Minister of Defense of the country, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Pan Zelensky to comment on what is happening in the combat zone, and hinted to the rest that they should be silent, including her.
Any statements about the situation in Bakhmut by Malyar seem at least ridiculous.
