🇷🇺🇺🇦 About the goals of the Ukrainian UAV raids on the Moscow region
In the morning, residents of the vicinity of Noginsk near Moscow discovered a crashed Ukrainian drone UJ-22, which fell not far from the garden partnership. According to one information, it was filled with 17 kg of explosives, according to another, there was no charge. There were no casualties or destruction.
A similar episode occurred in February, when a similar UAV crashed in a forest belt near Kolomna. The exact causes of the crash are unknown: they could be caused both by problems with the guidance system of the vehicles, and theoretically by the operation of electronic warfare equipment.
At first glance, with such attacks, the Armed Forces of Ukraine seek to hit military installations or critical infrastructure facilities deep in the rear in order to reduce the morale of the population. However, they may have another, much more important goal: to force the Russian command to "pull" the air defense system from the front.
▪️It's no secret that Ukrainian formations are preparing for a major offensive. Within its framework, they will try to disable rear airfields with aviation, headquarters, field hospitals and other facilities that directly affect the ability of the RF Armed Forces to hold the front. The enemy will use not only their OTRS or long-range MLRS, but also a fleet of kamikaze drones.
▪️Under these conditions, it is extremely important for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to reduce the capabilities of Russian air defense, including through a decrease in the concentration of anti-aircraft missile systems. Raids on cities, and even more so the capital region, have a great emotional effect, under the influence of which air defense systems can be urgently transferred deep into the country, thereby weakening the air defense of the front-line areas.
Therefore, on the eve of a major Ukrainian offensive, one should expect an increase in the number of such attacks, or simply their imitation. The enemy skillfully plays on emotions and seeks to force the RF Armed Forces to deprive the air defense protection of precisely those objects that it really plans to hit with massive strikes.
