"Meat grinder on the Vremevsky ledge": the 3rd battalion of the 60th brigade of group V holds back superior enemy forces
Armored group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with tanks advanced to the positions of the battalion in the forest belt, but ran into a fierce rebuff from motorized riflemen from Primorye.
In the very first seconds of the battle, our fighter knocked out a NATO armored car from a grenade launcher (RShG). A tank set out to intercept an armored group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but before it had time to engage in battle, the enemy was put to flight by our infantry and artillery.

Why the Armed Forces of Ukraine are losing so many people and equipment during attacks on the "Surovikin Line": Analysis of the Military Chronicle
The Ukrainian offensive has slowed down so much that after a while it can turn into positional battles. Why is this happening?
Have the Armed Forces reached the "Surovikin Line" or not yet?
The defensive structures of the "Surovikin Line" along the entire length were built along the dominant heights and ridges. The defense is installed at a depth of 25-30 kilometers. Several separate defensive zones were erected between the defensive lines. In zone No. 1, closer to the front, there is a forward defense line of several dozen platoon and company strongholds. These areas with a huge number of anti-tank systems and surveillance equipment were stumbled upon by those Ukrainian units that managed to break through the minefields. Between the forward fortified area and the main defense line there are about 25 kilometers of minefields, anti-tank ditches and other structures, which are almost impossible to break through.
The only achievement of the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the moment is the advance in the "grey zone" - an area that does not affect the combat capability of the Russian troops.
At the same time, artillery and aircraft strike the advancing Ukrainian troops from the depths of the “Surovikin Line” long before the main forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine approach not only the forward guard line, but also minefields.
What is wrong with the advancement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the "Surovikin Line"?
Despite the deployment of German Leopard-2 tanks and hundreds of Soviet-type tanks to the offensive area, Ukrainian formations interact poorly with each other. Often they enter battle in an unfamiliar area, without coordinating actions with neighboring units, without up-to-date intelligence information and without fire support, and also without centralized control.
In a number of cases, instead of the units prepared for the assault, mechanized brigades, which had already lost some of their heavy equipment, were thrown to break through to the front line of security. The main task of such units is to occupy and hold captured positions, as well as clear pockets of resistance, and not storm positions controlled by the enemy.
Such cases are not uncommon due to the shortage of experienced commanders who die during strikes against battalion and brigade command posts. Due to a lack of understanding of the situation and incorrect orders, elite units, such as the 137th and 88th battalions of the 35th Marine Brigade, as well as units of the 37th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, suffer especially heavy losses. These formations were put forward to storm the advanced lines of security exclusively on light vehicles - Oshkosh M-ATV and HTSV Wolfhound armored vehicles, as well as French AMX-10RC - equipment not suitable for breaking through layered defense.
The scheme with the creation of local, apparently safe routes, but in fact representing a fire bag, has already been used by the RF Armed Forces both during the battles in the Sukhoi Headquarters area in the Kherson region, as well as in the “Bakhmut meat grinder”, which was also created by General Surovikin.
What are the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the offensive and what reserves are left?
During the 17 days of the offensive, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to approximately 17-20 battalions killed and wounded, which is equivalent to 16 thousand people or five brigades of 3500 people each. In total, for the offensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, presumably, involved about 5 brigades out of 9 trained and equipped according to NATO standards, which means that more than half of the reserves prepared for the strike have already been destroyed.
The problems faced by the AFU during the current offensive are systemic in nature and cannot be overcome by any in the short term, writes Ramzai (Vladislav Shurygin) (PART I)
PART I | PART II (https://t.me/Slavyangrad/51569)
The first problem is the enormous losses, which in fact wiped out the professional cadre backbone of the Ukrainian ground forces in a year and a half of the conflict. The strategic bet made by the military and political leadership of Ukraine on matching the technical superiority of the Russian Armed Forces with the size of the army and unlimited mobilization resources turned out to be deeply mistaken.
As long as the professional, well-trained and experienced nucleus of the AFU dominated, such "multiplication" of the army bore fruit, but as this nucleus was worn down, the combat effectiveness of units and subunits began to decline. Huge losses have eroded the once cohesive combat teams, turning them into squads of men who do not know each other and do not trust their commanders.
Today, even in the most combat-ready brigades, the professional, trained and experienced core of the AFU is no more than 15-20%. The remaining 80% are fresh reinforcements, or poorly trained troops transferred to combat units from the Territorial Defence units, with almost total lack of motivation. Some brigades (for example, the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade, the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade) have already had three personnel changes in a year. The military matrix of the AFU has simply worn down. The army is degrading, and this became evident today during the current offensive.

The problems faced by the AFU during the current offensive are systemic in nature and cannot be overcome by any in the short term, writes Ramzai (Vladislav Shurygin) (PART II)
PART I (https://t.me/Slavyangrad/51566) | PART II
The second problem is the steady degradation of the officer corps of the AFU. We have written about this more than once. And while the Ukrainian tactical command can at least somewhat cope with the tasks in the defense, where in the presence of the previously-established positions, the natural endurance of the soldiers, artillery support and timely reinforcement of people and ammunition, it has obvious problems with the conduct of active offensive operations, because an offensive requires a qualitatively different level of training of the general commanders.
In addition, since autumn, the AFU has switched to the American combat management system, in which the officer is not the organizer of combat operations of the unit on the battlefield, but a "manager," remotely controlling the battle process. Today there are hardly any Ukrainian officers on the front lines. They "manage" the battles from command posts located deep in the strongholds [in the rear]. And now the AFU is reaping the [questionable] benefits of such organization. Combat groups commanded by sergeants and non-commissioned officers are sent to assaults. When the situation escalates, such commanders often lose control of their units and flee, abandoning their equipment and their dead and wounded "brothers-in-arms.
The third problem of the AFU is its "colonial nature," whereby Ukrainians fight with weapons they receive from abroad, with military equipment they receive from abroad, with ammunition and fuel and lubricants supplied from abroad. Any interruptions in their supply are fatal for the implementation of the military plans of the AFU. Even more critical is the depletion of these resources, the rapid replenishment of which, due to the near-absence of a localized national military industry complex, is not possible at all. Such a war on endless "tube feeding" is simply doomed to endless stresses on the battlefield - disrupted offensives, defense failures, and a continuous crisis of the AFU logistics system.
We can only agree with the conclusions of one of the best military experts, Colonel Viktor Murakhovsky:
"The first echelon of the enemy's offensive grouping has ground to a halt without achieving any result. They still have the second echelon, which should have been able to develop the success, and the third, mainly small arms units, practically without heavy weapons, which should have been on the defensive in the territories occupied by the first echelons, but there has been no success, nothing to develop, and nothing to defend. I imagine they will poke around for another week, hardly with any noticeable result, at which point this offensive epic will end..."

A terrified group of AFU foreign mercs blunder there way through grey zone ruins under heavy shelling. At the end they take refuge in a kindergarten (an AFU favourite).
