The situation in the area did not change fundamentally overnight. The enemy is clearly in no hurry to move forward its strike units, rightly believing that this puts them in a very vulnerable position, and its supply lines are already 20-30 km advanced, and this, moving quickly forward, can turn a victory into a defeat.
Therefore its tank and mechanized units are not moving further to #Shevchenkovo, #Vishnevaya, #Balakleya lines (which apparently our units left this night), and further to the east, the territory, already abandoned by our troops, is plagued by their flying reconnaissance units, which reached Oskol water storage basin this morning.
In the morning, Poddubny, a military correspondent based in #Kupyansk, reported that significant Russian reserves have arrived in the area of fighting (judging by the speed of arrival, transferred from the Belgorod direction).
Apparently, they will reinforce the Shevchenkovo-Kupyansk-Oskolskoye reservoir line. And if possible they will form a strike fist for a counter-offensive.
To the south, Allied units are building a line of defence with support at Savintsy, Vyshnevaya, Podvysokoye, to provide supply lines for the #Izyum grouping.
In order to prevent us from accumulating sufficient forces here for a counterattack, the enemy is actively "probing" our defenses at the bridgehead south of Izyum and conducting demonstrations towards #Liman, sending in DRGs, whose task is also to cut off the remaining supply lines of the Izyum grouping.
At the same time, Russian air and artillery strikes are now the main deterrent to the enemy.
To sum up, the situation here continues to be difficult, but despite the enemy's strong encroachment it is manageable.

The AFU offensive in the #Kharkov region continues for the third day. The AFU's immediate objectives are the capture of the de facto capital of the liberated territories, #Kupyansk, and the blockade of #Izyum.
▪️ If the AFU succeeds in capturing the #Veseloye transport hub, it will cut off a major artery leading from the north to #Izyum.
▪️ Part of the AFU grouping is busy diverting the attention of Russian Forces from the main lines of passage. During the day, a local offensive began near #Kopanki, southwest of #Izyum.
▪️ Russian forces continue to move reinforcements in the breakthrough directions. So far, Balakleya is cut off from major population centres.
However, the AFU continues to advance, exploiting weak points in the Russian defences.

The UAF continue to expand their zone of control southwest of Kupyansk. Acting in small maneuvering tactical groups, enemy units round the few pockets of organised resistance and block settlements.
▪️ Ukrainian formations have occupied #Senkovo on the right bank of the Oskol River. Due to the undermining of the dam and the shoaling of the Krasnoskolsk reservoir, the river can be waded. If they wish, Ukrainian Forces can easily force the crossing of the water barrier and cut off the Kupyansk-Borovaya road.
▪️ Ukrainian sources published a photo of raised flags outside the #Shevchenkovo administration building of the Ukrainian flag and the flag of Kharkov city (not the region). It is not clear whether the photo is from today or not, but the town is at least half surrounded by Ukrainian troops.
▪️ The route R-07 from #Shevchenkovo to #Grushevka is under full control of the Ukrainian Forces. After mopping up by mobile groups, Ukrainian formations moved heavy armoured vehicles in the second echelon. Russian air force artillery and aviation currently prevent the Ukrainian Forces from getting closer than 2-3km to the outskirts of #Kupyansk.
▪️ Indirect indications suggest that a Russian garrison may still be present in #Balakleya. So far, no confirmation of the occupation of the arsenal at 65 Balakleya has been released, and theoretically, control over the Balakleya-Savintsy "road of life" could remain.
Despite active shelling by the Russian Armed Forces, efforts so far are insufficient to limit the breakthrough. The #Izyum front is being denudedby the redeployment of reserves. The next objective of the AFU offensive could be a breakthrough through the fields further towards Velikiy Burluk (Bolshoy Burluk) or a complete encirclement of the #Izyum grouping of the Russian Forces.

The situation is dire. Judging by respected Rybar's map, at this point the grouping's supply routes from Kupyansk have been cut off. The AFU did not need to reach the crossroads at #Veseloye east of #Balakleya. They chopped an artery to the north.
This leaves an inconvenient supply route from the east through Oskol, south of the reservoir. But Ukrainian units approaching from the north at #Senkovo will probably try to cross the river and cut off the road south towards Pesok-Redkovsky.
It also looks like they will target the road to #Rubezhnoye and #Svatovo to encircle #Kupyansk from the east. However, there is still the possibility of supplying the grouping from the LPR via the same Oskol. This is not a highway, of course, but I would not speak of encirclement at the moment.
For a complete encirclement, the enemy must cut off this possibility as well. And apparently to that end he is gathering forces and probing defences south of #Izyum in various areas.
Yesterday, for example, the AFU attacked west of Malaya Kamyshevakha with up to a battalion, 6 tanks and 4 APCs. Here is what they wrote to me from there: "Six tanks and four APCs came at us. And one battalion. We fought back. Buba blew himself up (probably shot himself up - ed.) and said over the radio, 'Goodbye guys, it was a pleasure serving with you.' Well, they were fucked. They left. Buba is a volunteer from #Vologda. Sergeant. Squad leader of a volunteer motorised rifle company. He was in charge of the observation post. Rescued young subordinates".
Like #Kupyansk, #Izyum also needs reserves.

Despite the start of the operation in the direction of #Kharkov, the AFU command is not abandoning plans for an advance towards #Nikolaev-#KrivoyRog.
During the night, up to four companies of AFU infantry were moved to the #Andreevka sector of the front, crossing the #Ingulets and reinforcing the scattered AFU grouping on the #Andreevka - #Lozovoye - #Belogorka - Sukhoy Stavok square. Despite the active work of the Russian Air Force, the AFU quietly crosses the river.
Apparently, the Ukrainian operational command responsible for this area has decided to fill the front with "meat" at any cost. First of all, because it is simply possible.
Separate infantry groups of the AFU have already penetrated behind #Chkalovskoye and on the #Berislav highway. The artery is under the control of Russian forces, and the AFU is operating on the steppe and is being shelled from all sides. The Ukrainian units are suffering casualties, but are slowly expanding the controlled area.
We are not inclined to believe that the continued activity on this front is a direct result of the shift of attention of the Russian Forces Command towards #Kharkov. But it is now becoming apparent that the Ukrainian Forces are outnumbered: The incoming "meat" has time to disperse in the terrain.
And the morale of the Ukrainian units has been on the upswing for several days due to the events in the north.

The Russian Armed Forces continue mass transfer of reinforcements and reserves to the #Kharkov region. Mi-26 helicopters are bringing personnel to the vicinity of #Kupyansk, armoured columns are being moved to #Izyum and #Oskol. Gunfire hits targets in #Chuguyev and #Kharkov, artillery and aviation work along the roads.
▪️ Ukrainian Forces continue to expand their area of control. According to preliminary information, #Shevchenkovo has been occupied. AFU photo at the southern entrance to #Kupyansk suggests that the entire southern road to #Senkovo is under enemy control.
▪️ Activity of separate mobile groups is noted near #Gorokhovatka and the operating bridge over the #Oskol River. Russian units are engaged in combat on the northern outskirts of the village.
▪️ In #Kupyansk itself, the work of sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the Ukrainian Forces has been noted. The enemy is shelling Russian positions.
▪️ There are still no facts of objective control from #Balakleya confirming the occupation of the territory of the Arsenal by the AFU, where a contingent of Russian forces could be.

⚡️ Russian Defence Ministry report on the progress of the special military operation in Ukraine (September 9, 2022)
◽️ The Armed Forces of Ukraine made various unsuccessful attempts to attack, suffered losses and withdrew their forces at Nikolayev-Krivoy Rog direction.
💥 Manpower and military equipment of 46th Airmobile Brigade, 35th Marines' Brigade and 61st Chaser Infantry Brigade have been neutralised near Bezymennoye, Novogrigoryevka (Nikolayev region) and Sukhoy Stavok (Kherson region).
📊 The enemy has lost a total of 3 tanks, 4 infantry combat vehicles and 7 other armoured vehicles, 2 pickups with large-calibre machine guns and over 270 servicemen at Nikolayev-Krivoy Rog direction.
💥 High-precision attacks of Russian Aerospace Forces have resulted in the neutralisation of the command posts of Kraken nationalist group deployed near Prishib (Kharkov region) and 93rd Mechanised Brigade near Artyomovsk (Donetsk People's Republic). Over 50 nationalists, as well as 16 units of special military equipment and motor vehicles have been eliminated.
💥 Attacks launched by high-precision ground-based armament at the provisional bases of the units from 127th Territorial Defence Brigade and 14th Mechanised Brigade deployed near Kharkov have resulted in the elimination of over 50 and wounding over 120 Ukrainian servicemen.
Operational-tactical and army aviation, missile troops and artillery continue launching attacks at the military facilities in Ukraine.
💥 8 AFU command posts have been neutralised near Lebyazhye, Chervony Yar, Gusarovka and Liman (Kharkov region), Maryinka and Ray-Aleksandrovka (Donetsk People's Republic), Krivoy Rog (Dnepropetrovsk region), Gulyay Pole (Zaporozhye region), as well as 52 artillery units, 153 AFU manpower and military equipment concentration areas.

📊 In total, 293 airplanes and 152 helicopters, 1,916 unmanned aerial vehicles, 374 air defence missile systems, 4,870 tanks and other armoured combat vehicles, 827 combat vehicles equipped with MRLS, 3,371 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 5,417 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation.
⚠️ Kiev regime continues its provocations aimed at creating a possible technological disaster at Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
◽️ 6 artillery attacks launched at Energodar have been recorder over the past 24 hours. A total of 27 projectiles have been launched from Marganets located at the opposite shore of Kakhovka reservoir.
◽️ The attack launched at the power transmission line has resulted in leaving the city without electricity.

‼️ Details of fighting in the Izyum direction.
While the most extensive fighting since 24 February is unfolding in the Kupyansk and Balakleya directions, the enemy is trying to attack our positions to the south of Izyum. Here is what I am told from the ground.
"07.09. From the side of Dmitrovka and Vernopolya went mercenary infantry - 20-30 people without equipment to ... company call sign "...".
They fought back successfully and did not surrender their positions. The strength of the mercenaries was growing, and towards them ... guys aged 18-20 voluntarily ran out from neighboring positions on foot. These ... men blew all the attackers to pieces and they withdrew. Ours had one light 300 and burned himself on a piece of shrapnel as he lay down. Why mercenaries? Because all they hear is foreign speech.
08.09. In the morning at 8 o'clock, 6 tanks attacked us. More than 10 APCs and other equipment - everything was visible through a bird's eye - and infantry - 150-200 people. They were resisted by our man - and that in different observation points. Plus our artillery worked very well. In the most striking direction was Buba with ... fighters. They fought back the mercenaries, but a tank came at them and started hitting them. Four men died. Buba got his legs broken. And he led the fight to the end.
He ordered one of the young ones to withdraw to the "..." I heard him say on the air: "Goodbye, men, thanks for serving with you."
Then our army pounded the mercenaries hard. In 15-20 minutes Buba contacted us again and reported that all had left. And he said - "Thank you for having had the opportunity to serve with us". And silence.
I drove the 300s away, assisting at the stage. Good thing they were all light.
Took a lightly wounded man to the brush. He told everyone: "When Buba ordered the young one to retreat, they saw him blow himself up...
I am not retelling the plot of a heroic film or a fantasy story. But I heard his voice myself and the clap - yes everyone heard it in the air...
I feel as if I and everyone around me were in the plot of a film. All the action war films I've seen, it's all bullshit!
Buba is a volunteer sergeant... from Vologda. I will remember his words for the rest of my life.

▪️ The redeployed reserves of the Russian Armed Forces from the #Borovaya side managed to repel an AFU attack on #Gorokhovatka and prevent the cutting of the Izyum - Borovaya bridge. Fighting is currently taking place near the village of #Yasinovataya.
▪️ The villages of #Sinikha, #Senkovo, Lesnaya Stenka and #Fedorovka are under constant fire control of the Russian Armed Forces. The AFU's main combat force has not yet been deployed in the area. Small manoeuvre groups have tried to move south from #Senkovo and #Grushevka.
▪️ The evacuation of civilians has been announced in #Kupyansk and #Izyum. Russian Forces are preparing for defence and a possible siege of the settlements. A large part of the residents do not want to leave their homes, even though there are threats of reprisals by Ukrainian Forces.
▪️ Ukrainian Forces have hit a command post of Russian Forces in #Dvurechnaya. The shelling partially destroyed a bridge in #Kupyansk across the Oskol River.
▪️ The fate of eastern #Balakleya and a section of the Balakleya-Savintsy highway remains unclear.
At this stage, the most optimistic scenario of the situation on the part of the Russian Forces Command is seen as creating a cauldron and attracting the destruction of the AFU in the square #Shevchenkovo - #Kupyansk - #Izyum - #Balakleya.
Time will tell how realistic this scenario is. For the time being, the task of the Russian Forces is to stop the advance of the AFU and not to allow them to consolidate on the achieved positions.
The Ukrainian tactic of using small maneuvering groups in the Islamic State style justified itself at the first stage, and now heavy equipment and mobile air defense assets are being deployed.
If the AFU manages to gain a foothold, it will be much more difficult to recapture the captured territories, and the fighting will obviously not take place on these frontiers.
However, a really large force is being moved to #Kupyansk and #Izyum.

The operational crisis is still far from being resolved, but unlike yesterday, today we can already see the results of the command's actions to contain the consequences of the Ukrainian armed forces' breakthrough north of #Balakleya.
The main tasks at the moment are to hold #Kupyansk, prevent a breakthrough to #Izyum and keep supplying the Izyum Grouping.
The enemy, for its part, will try to consolidate and build on the operational success achieved with the help of transferred reserves. It is worth noting that in addition to confirming videos of the advance, the enemy is also receiving information about trophy equipment and confirmation of a large number of dead AFU soldiers.
A breakdown of why this crisis arose and how it evolved will follow the conclusion of this defensive operation.

GB: Essentially, by and large, the tide has turned on the Ukrainian Izyum front operation.
As indicated earlier, this counter-offensive will run out of steam in the next 2-3 days. Ukrainians have one more surprise up their sleeves—it may be an unexpected maneuver at the Izyum front, or it may be a counteroffensive elsewhere in Ukraine, or, finally, it may be something interesting at the Kherson front. However, the Russian forces have largely curtailed all of the offensive operations of the Ukrainian army.
The only question that remains is how fast Russia can retake what was lost at the Izyum front. Depending on the forces committed, it may take 2 weeks (unlikely), or 1 to 3 months, tending to the lower threshold.
Just my analysis.

Kherson region — RF Forces deployed electronic warfare units and now they are jamming communications of the Ukrainians. Russian forces are also conducting sweeps on the locals who have been proven to “collaborate with the Armed Forces of Ukraine” and transmit the coordinates of Russian Armed Forces crossings to them. Cell towers have been tapped by the Russian Armed Forces units as well, and electronic intelligence is working the way it should’ve been since day one.
The sightings of Russian aircraft have increased by several fold since last night, thousands of Russian Armed Forces troops were moved into the conflict area, armour has been airdropped for the last 10 hours or so, special forces were deployed to counter the small Ukrainian units that carry out the breakthroughs (ISIS style, someone with experience from Iraq and Syria planned this without a doubt) & Russia is very familiar with these tactics. Central military district seems to be the driving force behind the counteroffensive just launched by Russia on the other end of the front line. The goal is to destroy Ukrainian units attempting breakthroughs and to inflict air strikes into accumulation of Ukrainian units that have broken through the areas mentioned in the past 48h.
Russia conducted mass evacuation of civilians deeper into DPR and into Russia-mainland. This suggests they’re ready to reduce these places to rubble.
Ukrainians keep striking civilian buildings in DPR, several civilians were killed since this morning.
It’s too early to give any positional updates. Let the troops work on both sides and let’s look at it once in every 24h
If we report one thing, it will change in 2 hours. Then it’ll change again.
1x a day positional reports are needed, not this constant flow of confusion with positions. Fog of war is real.
The Russians are now readjusting to match the new tactics employed by Ukrainians, so the tide is likely to turn around soon.
Large calibre MLRS has been employed by Russians, GRADs are working as well but from the side of DPR.
DPR troops tell us they finally received reinforcements from Russia, including equipment.
There are several settlements said to be recaptured by Russian Armed Forces at the moment, but we haven’t seen any proof yet. Too early to report.

🔻 #Kupiansk direction:
▪️ By transferring reserves to the #Kupyansk section of the front, the Russian Forces managed to stop the advance of the main AFU forces within a few kilometres of the city limits.
▪️ By the end of the day, the AFU had gained control over the villages of #Chkalovskoye, #Shevchenko, and #Borovskoye and controlled the Chuguyev-Kupyansk highway to #Grushevka, which allowed them to move equipment and artillery systems to the line of contact.
▪️ The Ukrainian command is forming a strike force to storm #Kupiansk near #Grushevka and #Staroverovka. Russian Forces are conducting artillery and missile strikes on the places where the enemy forces are concentrated.
▪️ The AFU shells rear settlements in the liberated areas. The village of Velikiy Burluk (Bolshoy Burluk) was particularly badly hit.
Ukrainian formations will block the Russian Forces' reserves in #Kupyansk and try to bypass the city from the north, and advance towards #Dvurechenskoye.
🔻 #Izium direction:
▪️ From the south of #Izyum, the AFU is conducting an offensive from the direction of #Vernopolya and #Dolina.
▪️ Attempting to advance towards #Gorokhovatka, the AFU mobile groups encountered resistance near the village of #Yasinovatoye.
▪️ Russian Forces' reserves reached the eastern bank of the Oskol River and suppressed attempts by the AFU mobile groups to cross the river.
Apparently, the AFU command will reinforce the mobile units on the western bank of the Oskol with heavy equipment and try to reconnoitre the #Izyum defence from the #Gorokhovatka side.
🔻 #Balakleya direction:
▪️ There are unverified reports that the eastern quarters of #Balakleya are still held by RF Armed Forces units. In the near future, we should expect an attack by the AFU on the villages of #Veseloye and #Kunye.
In the near future, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will attempt an attack on #Liman from the direction of #Raygorodka. The main objective of the Ukrainian command at the site is to reach the #Oskolskoye reservoir and encircle the Russian grouping near #Izyum.

▪️ AFU units in the east of #Bakhmut (#Artemovsk) made a failed counterattack attempt, after which they were counterattacked by PMC Wagner units. The Russian fighters managed to advance towards the industrial zone along Patrice Lumumba Street and captured six Ukrainian servicemen.
▪️ The advanced forces of the Wagner PMC approached the site of the electric substation of the Donbasskaya substation and took the site of the facility in a semicircle.
▪️ East of #Nikolaevka II, the Allied forces developing an offensive from the #Gorlovka suburb of #Zaitsevo, cleared two AFU strongholds.
▪️ At the same time, units of the Wagner PMC are advancing towards #Nikolaevka II from the direction of #Kodema. The village itself and its surroundings are completely under the control of Russian fighters.
▪️ The Wagnerians continue destroying strongholds in the fields and advance from the Vershina-Kodema line towards #Otradovka.
