⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ Situation on the Slavyansk-Barvenkovo direction at 17:30 on 12 Sep 2022⚡️
▪️ After the withdrawal of units from #Izyum and the surrounding area, Allied forces have taken defensive positions on the left bank of the Oskol River. Russian forces continue to hold the settlements of #Studenok and #Oskol.
▪️ The situation is most dire in the #Lyman area, where a small garrison of the Russian Forces and the LPR has been fighting with superior enemy forces for three days in a row.
▪️ Units of the Allied forces have already repelled several attacks, but the AFU are not letting up in their assault. Artillery attacks are being conducted against the advancing enemy units.
▪️ Near the village of #Zakotnoye, Ukrainian units were able to cross the shallow Seversky Donets and move equipment with the intention of reaching #Yampol, encircling #Lyman, and storming the latter from the east.
▪️ Ukrainian Forces' aim is to gain a bridgehead on the right bank of the Seversky Donets to launch an offensive towards #Kremennaya in the LPR.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ Situation in the #Soledar direction at the end of 12 Sep 2022⚡️
▪️ Wagner PMC units continue to control a crossroads in the east of #Bakhmut (#Artemovsk) and attack AFU fire positions and strongholds in and around the city itself.
▪️ In parallel, the Wagner troops are fighting near the Donbass power substation and also developing an offensive towards #Nikolaevka II and #Otradovka.
▪️ In #Soledar, there are no significant changes on the front line. Fighting is taking place on the eastern outskirts of the settlement.
▪️ Allied forces have launched at least two missile attacks on targets in #Konstantinovka. This location is used to supply AFU units near #Bakhmut and #Soledar.
▪️ A difficult situation is developing near #Belogorovka, where Ukrainian forces are trying to storm the village. Heavy fighting is also taking place near #Sporny.
If the allied forces lose control of the settlements, the AFU will gain a bridgehead to attack #Severodonetsk, #Lysychansk and #Kremennaya to reach the rear of the LPR grouping.

Reports coming in that certain “decisions” regarding the operational situation will be announced today. Whatever they may be—if they are announced—let’s focus on what we have. I will wait to hear things said officially.
However, it is already clear that Russia is taking the Ugledar and Zaporozhye theatres very seriously, with transfer of reserves and defensive preparations.
I have no understanding what Russia is doing at Svyatogorsk, although I can intuit that the major troops and reserves are tied up with the defense and preparations along the Oskol river line, and, for that reason, both Svyatogorsk and Krasny Liman/Yampol and Belogorovka have been neglected.
Once the defensive preparations along the Oskol are complete, I suspect that troops will be freed up to curtail the Ukrainian threat in north DPR/LPR.
If I can hazard a guess, the Oskol defensive preparations are proceeding at a very rapid pace, and Russian command believes that the Svyatogorsk—Krasny Liman—Yampol—Belogorovka line can hold out enough with their current garrisons to allow the Russian forces to then swoop in and force the enemy back beyond the Seversky Donets engagement line. But this is just a guess—although maybe a good one.
With the rapid pace of the Ukrainian offensive in the Kharkov region, they will have had to tie up not inconsiderable forces in cleaning up behind the front lines, and, in any event, no army can continue fighting at the same tempo, particularly with natural obstacles in the way. This plays in favour of Russia’s defensive preparations.
Nonetheless, the count here may be down to days—who will secure their respective objectives first.
More later.
@Rybar Reports: The situation in Eastern Ukraine as of the end of September 12, 2022
🔻The border areas of the Russian Federation:
▪️Ukrainian formations shelled the village of Logachevka in the Belgorod region with large-calibre shells, killing one woman and wounding several people.
▪️ Shortly before that, the Ukrainian armed forces also struck the village of Tetkino in the Kursk region, slightly damaging several residential buildings.
🔻Kharkov region
▪️The Russian Armed Forces were able to level the front along the left bank of the Oskol River after retreating in the Kharkov Oblast.
▪️Russian missile forces and artillery launched massive strikes on AFU facilities in Kharkov: One of the strikes hit the National Police building.
🔻On the Krasny Liman direction:
▪️Ukrainian forces have been on the offensive for the third day around the town of Krasny Liman, whose defence is held by a small garrison of the Russian Armed Forces and the LNR People's Militia.
The town is strategically important for the AFU as it is located on the northern bank of the Seversky Donets and could become a potential bridgehead for a further offensive towards the Kremennaya and Severodonetsk agglomeration.
▪️Some reports suggest that the enemy was able to occupy part of Svyatogorsk north of Slavyansk, which, if captures, would potentially allow an offensive toward Krasny Liman from the northwest.
🔻The Bakhmut (Artyomvsk) direction:
▪️ The AFU is storming Belogorovka west of Lisichansk, increasing pressure on the grouping of Allied forces in this direction. The capture of the settlement will give the enemy an additional bridgehead to develop an offensive towards the Severodonetsk agglomeration.
▪️ Wagner PMC units continue to control individual streets in the east of Bakhmut (Artyomovsk), striking firing positions and strongholds of the AFU in and around the city itself.
▪️ At the same time, Allied Forces units fought for the Donbass power substation and developed an offensive towards Nikolayevka II and Otradovka.
▪️ In Soledar, positional fighting continued in the south of the city near the KNAUF GIPS factory.
🔻On the Donetsk direction:
▪️On the Donetsk direction, Ukrainian formations are shelling the suburbs of Donetsk and surrounding settlements.
▪️Positional fighting near Peski and Pervomayskoye continues.
🔻Ugledar direction:
▪️ The AFU is concentrating forces in the vicinity of Ugledar. This may be either preparation for an offensive or a simulation to force the Russian Armed Forces to move reinforcements and denuding other areas.
🔻On the Zaporozhye direction:
▪️ The AFU has moved units to the frontline near Orekhovo and may attempt a strike in the south of Zaporozhye region.
▪️The artillery duel across the Dnieper continues to become regular: Ukrainian forces are shelling the Zaporozhye NPP from positions on the northern bank of the river in Nikopol and Marganets, to which the Russian Armed Forces respond with fire.
🔻On the Krivoy Rog direction:
▪️On the Krivorozhsk direction, position fighting continues south of Vysokopolye, Olgino and around Novoznesenskoye.

GB: So, @Montyan2 writes that the Zaporozhye NPP has been completely shut down. I saw earlier reports that one of the electricity supply lines t Ukraine has been restrored. Not sure where the truth lies. Obviously, it's irrelevant if the high-voltage lines have been restrored if the NPP has been shut down. Cold is cold. You need hot to turn the turbines and make the electrons move. Anyways, maybe one of you has a better idea of what is going on. I am leaning towards the NPP being out of commission. Which also means that there is very little that can be done to restore to working order quickly. It would be quite a process.
It should be remarked that the Zaporozhye NPP's shut down also means that not only the dastardly Ukraine, but also Kherson and Russia's territory in Zaporozhye will lose their primary source of energy. Something to think about, as winter approaches.
ZNPP is done for.
Zaporozhye's last nuclear power block has been shut down due to incessant shelling. The information is confirmed by the IAEA: they specify that the power supply to the shutdown plant, in particular to the spent fuel storage facilities, is provided by a backup power line.
The shutdown of the nuclear power plant is a long overdue and even overripe decision. A nuclear plant can exist in a war zone in only one form—in a so-called cold standby state—and this is the only truly safe solution. Strangely enough, just a couple of weeks ago, amazing optimists saw fit to argue with me in comments about the need to put reactors into cold standby. I've held this position literally since the early days of hostilities and believe that it should not only be about the ZNPP, but also about the rest of the nuclear power plants that are in the war zone and possibly affected. 🤨
By the way, just 60km from the border with Sumy oblast is the Kursk NPP, about which yesterday they started writing in the UkroReich public forums in response to the arrivals on several TPPs with hints that Russia is preparing provocations there and is going to bombard itself
Thank you for giving this daily update - such a great resource. The big decision hangs in the air - will it continue as "SMO" (and therefore failure), or will become real war with a real possibility of a decisive win.
