❗️🇷🇺🇺🇦 Situation on the Nikolaevsko-Krivoy Rog direction as of 5 p.m. on July 8, 2022 by @rybar:
▪️ The Ukrainian command still intends to conduct a counteroffensive in certain parts of the front. Two maneuvering radio-electronic reconnaissance groups have been sent to the Blagodatnoye and Sheshennya areas to assess the situation.
▪️ In the Nikolaev direction, Ukrainian units intended to conduct several sabotage attacks on Russian Armed Forces positions in the Posad-Pokrovske - Stepovaya Dolina directions during the night.
However, Russian troops uncovered the AFU plans and conducted massive shelling of Ukrainian positions in Posad-Pokrovske, Stepova Dolina and Novogrigorovka. As a result, the forces of the 28 Ombra, the 59th Infantry Brigade and the combined companies of the Teroborona suffered losses.
Several dozen wounded Ukrainian soldiers were sent to Nikolaev. The AFU servicemen in Posad-Pokrovskoye had voluntarily left the settlement, refusing to perform their tasks. At present, there is virtually no garrison in Posad-Pokrovskoye, and the village is in a "gray zone".
A similar situation occurred in Stepovaya Dolina, where the personnel of the 2nd Battalion of the 28th Brigade were killed and wounded more than 20 people in two days. To hold the settlement, the brigade's servicemen were rotated to tera defense units from Pervomayskoye.
▪️ In the Krivoy Rog direction, low-intensity fighting was taking place at the Lozovoye-Zarechnoye line. Ukrainian assault groups supported by tactical aircraft attempted to gain a foothold in the gray zone in this section of the front.
However, as a result of mortar and artillery fire by units of the Russian Armed Forces at the advancing forces in the area of Davydov Brod, the 63rd brigade infantry division suffered losses and the personnel retreated from the occupied areas.
At the same time, an Su-25 attack aircraft and a MiG-29 fighter of the Ukrainian Air Force were shot down in the area of Belaya Krynitsa-Ozerovka. And at one of the observation points, a NLAW APC was found.
▪️ After several unsuccessful offensive attempts, a HIMARS MLRS crew attempted to hit the Novokakhovsk HPP. The Russian Armed Forces' air defense assets shot down some of the shells.
▪️ Russian artillery and mortar crews hit AFU facilities in Nikolayev, Galitsynovo, Bereznegovatom, Malomikhailovskoye,
Zelenodolsk, Novosemenovka, Shirokovskoye, Stepova Dolina, Posad-Pokrovskoye, Novogrigorovka, and Zarechnoye.
🔻 The situation in the Nikolaevsko-Krivorozhskoe direction remains tense. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to break through the Russian Armed Forces' defense line in different parts of the front. Despite the boisterous statements of Ukrainian propagandists, the attempts end in heavy losses and retreat to the previous lines.
This can explain the strikes on civilian objects in the Kherson region using Tochka-U missile launchers and Himars. Tactics of terror and intimidation vs. civilians indicate a desire to cause as much damage as possible to the areas under the control of the Russian Armed Forces.
