❗️🇷🇺🇺🇦 So much has happened in and around Ukraine over the past week that not everyone has had time to put the individual pieces of the mosaic together. By the way, a very interesting picture is emerging:
First Amnesty International openly accuses the AFU of placing positions in residential areas. Then CBS News writes that it turns out that only 30 percent of the Western arms supplied to Kiev get to the front. The Guardian publishes an interview with an Australian "volunteer" who talks frankly about desertion in the "international legion" and admits that he cannot return home - according to Australian law, his adventures in Ukraine are classified as mercenarism, which is punishable by up to life in prison.
So what happened? Why did the Western media suddenly change their habitual lens of coverage of the Ukrainian conflict from rose-colored glasses to a seemingly sober outlook?
Do you remember what the same media made a big deal out of not so long ago? That's right, the strike on the colony in Yelenivka, where Azov prisoners were held. Fifty-three prisoners of war died as a result of the shelling. Kiev, of course, immediately tried to blame everything on Russia, but something did not go according to plan.
After the Russian Armed Forces presented incontrovertible evidence of the use of American HIMARS to attack the colony, Ukrainian politicians, as they say, "floated". All sorts of versions were put to use: the attack was carried out, but not by us, or maybe by us, but by mistake, and in general, what kind of questions are these? Meanwhile, the Americans kept silent, knowing full well that Russia was aware that Kiev coordinated all HIMARS strikes with Washington. The last argument that shattered the sick fantasies of the Ukrainian government was the readiness of the Russian side to conduct an independent investigation of the incident with the participation of UN representatives.
This is where the ardor of the Kiev leadership had to be cooled. The West sent Zelensky an unmistakable signal, or to be more blunt, a command: you cannot. We remembered the weapons that were disappearing on the black market, the crimes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and the mercenaries.
This time they let the Ukrainian president save face: CBS edited their report and said that weapons were sold only in April, and now they are not selling any more. I guess. Amnesty International also apologized for the "suffering and anger" caused by their report. But those are all words. And in fact the result of the whole entreprise was the following decision of Washington: Ukraine has already had enough of the supplied HIMARS systems. Enough is enough, we have played enough.
