War map and frontline update for the evening of 16 September
Two terrorist attacks were carried out almost simultaneously today by Kiev - five HIMARS rockets were fired at the Ukrainian State Administration building in Kherson and a bomb was detonated in the office of the Prosecutor General in Luhansk. In Kherson, three people were killed - two of them civilians bystanders - and 13 were wounded, while in Luhansk, LNR prosecutor-general Serhiy Horenko and his deputy were killed. It was then reported that Oleh Boyko, deputy head of the Berdyansk housing and utility administration, and his wife, who worked as chairman of the Berdyansk election commission, were killed overnight in Berdyansk.

◽️Izium-Slavyansk direction
Disturbing reports are coming in from near Kupiansk. Information has emerged about our abandonment of the eastern part of the town. As it turned out later, this was an enemy DRG that had been knocked out of there, and fighting is still going on there. Meanwhile, the enemy did not abandon attempts to cross the Oskol and set up a crossing in the Studenka area. Yampol and Krasny Liman hold, Svyatogorsk in the grey zone.
◽️Zaporozhye direction
Near Orekhovo the enemy again tried to conduct reconnaissance combat in the direction of Vasilievka and Tokmak, they were properly met by our motorized riflemen and artillery. The AFU lost several BMPs and just under a platoon of infantry killed and wounded and rolled back to their original positions.
◽️ South direction
Local battles continued here today. The Ingults spill, which suddenly turned its waters red, affected the situation somewhat, although not as powerfully as we might have imagined.
- In the Posad-Pokrovsky section during the day the AFU tried to pounce on Pravdino, where our paratroopers from the 56th Airborne Regiment defeated them, supported by artillery and aviation, and it seems that by luring them into a small trap, they allowed themselves to be outflanked and then covered them. The remnants of the survivors who tried to retreat were finished off by aviation. In the evening, information emerged that the AFU was making a new attempt to advance, with paratroopers holding the fight.
- On the Andreevsky section, it appears that the AFU crossings were taken out of action by the Ingults rebels - a helicopter flew in for the wounded, probably also bringing them BCs. It is too early to say that the days of this bridgehead are numbered - ours are in no hurry to switch on their maximum here. The air battles continued in Sukhoy Stavka, of which nothing is left anymore.

Night-time shelling of Valuiki, Belgorod region, which deprived the town of electricity (already restored), destroyed 8 private houses, and 9 cars, and claimed the life of one civilian (at least two others were wounded), was one of the main topics on the agenda today, but there has not been any mirror response to it yet.
Arrivals
Apart from Kherson, Donetsk, Yasynuvata, Horlivka, and its settlements of Holmivskyi and Zaitsevo, Energodar came under fire as usual today. There was an explosion in Melitopol and air defense was operating in Nova Kakhovka.
Calibers
Kryvyi Rih was the target of our missiles for the third day - and again, according to preliminary reports, it was the waterworks at Inhulce. Objects in Dnipropetrovsk oblast were also hit. As reported by our Ministry of Defence in a briefing, the headquarters and training base of the separate AFU Southern Centre of Training were also destroyed.

The focus of attention today was the SCO summit where an agreement on the flared-up armed conflict between the leaders of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan was announced, but in fact, the situation in the conflict zone is only heating up. The Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict was also raised and again there was talk of a settlement.

⚡️ Russian Defence Ministry report on the progress of the special military operation in Ukraine (September 17, 2022)

◽️ The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.
💥 The enemy involved 2 companies supported by 9 tanks and 16 armoured combat vehicles from 28th Mechanised Brigade made an unsuccessful attempt to launch an offensive near Pravdino (Kherson region).
◽️ Within several hours, Russian Armed Forces have eliminated over 120 Ukrainian servicemen, 7 tanks and 13 combat infantry vehicles.
💥 Russian Aerospace Forces, missile troops and artillery have launched massive fire attacks at the units and reserve forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
◽️ High-precision attacks have resulted in causing casualties of over 140 Ukrainian servicemen, 5 tanks and 14 units of military equipment from 46th Airmobile Brigade near Bereznegovatoye and Velikoye Artakovo (Nikolayev region) and 24th Mechanised Brigade near Bezymennoye (Kherson region).
💥 High-precision attacks launched by Russian Aerospace Forces at the provisional bases of Kraken nationalist group, 92nd Mechanised and 81st Airmobile brigades near Dvurechnoye, Shevchenkovo and Kupyansk (Kharkov region) have resulted in the elimination of over 50 nationalists, as well as of more than 10 units of special military equipment and motor vehicles.
💥 Concentrated fire attacks launched at the combat positions of 58th and 93rd mechanised infantry brigades near Zaytsevo (Donetsk People's Republic) have resulted in the elimination of over 230 Ukrainian servicemen, 10 tanks and 23 armoured combat vehicles.
💥 Operational-tactical and army aviation, missile troops and artillery have neutralised 5 AFU command posts near Piskunovka, Seversk, Novoukrainka and Artyomovsk (Donetsk People's Rrepublic), Kamyshevakha (Zaporozhye region), as well as 53 artillery units, 117 AFU manpower and military equipment concentration areas.
💥 4 missile, artillery armament and munitions depots have been destroyed near Zolochev (Kharkov region), Kirovo (Donetsk People's Republic), Omelnik and Veselyanka (Zaporozhye region).
💥 Air defence facilities have shot down 8 unmanned aerial vehicles near Pokrovskoye, Berestovoye, Kodema (Donetsk People's Republic), Verbovoye, Pologi (Zaporozhye region), Novovoskresenskoye, Chkalovo (Kherson region) and Komsomolskoye (Nikolayev region).
💥 Moreover, 25 projectiles launched by HIMARS and Olkha MRLS have been destroyed in air near Novaya Kakhovka and Kherson.
📊 In total, 293 airplanes and 155 helicopters, 1,973 unmanned aerial vehicles, 375 air defence missile systems, 4,998 tanks and other armoured combat vehicles, 837 combat vehicles equipped with MRLS, 3,393 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 5,640 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation.

❗️ Kiev regime has recommenced its provocations aimed at creating a possible technological disaster at Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
◽️ Over the past 24 hours, 2 artillery attacks launched at Volna suburban settlement and an electrical substation located near the power plant have been recorded.
◽️ A total of 15 artillery projectiles have been launched from the area of Nikopol (Dnepropetrovsk region). The AFU artillery units have been neutralised by a counter-attack.
⚠️ The radiation environment at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant remains normal.

The Bremen police detained Ukrainians who were selling stingers and other heavy weapons previously delivered to Ukraine from Europe. The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine declares that all lend-lease is stored in the warehouses of Ukraine. An online store with German "trunks" was discovered by a student from Dresden, and he helped the police to identify a batch of deadly cargo. ▪️ Russian artillery and MLRS as well as bomber aircraft continue to massively shell the AFU-occupied area in the "gut". The Ukrainian militants are suffering heavy losses on a daily basis.
▪️ Despite the AFU commanders' declarations of successes in the south, the number of losses is disproportionate to the results. This is shown by the reduction in the number of manpower sent to slaughter to maintain the defensive lines on the left bank of the #Ingulets River.
▪️ AFU units are building strongholds at #Bereznegovatoye station and establishing communications with the settlement. Pioneer Forces are trying to restore the pontoon crossings over the #Ingulets south of the village, which were lost due to the rising water level of the river.

▪️ Wagner PMC units have occupied the Donbass power substation south of #Bakhmut (#Artemovsk). This paves the way for another offensive towards Veselaya Dolina.
▪️ In #Bakhmut itself, according to the Telegram channel @brussinf, the Wagnerians have advanced along Patrice Lumumba Street and entrenched themselves on the outskirts of a dacha cooperative.
▪️ Ukrainian Forces are trying to attack Wagner PMC positions on almost the entire contact line south and east of #Bakhmut, shelling the villages of #Klinovoye and #Pokrovske around the clock. However, the Wagnerians continue to hold the previously occupied territory.
▪️ Positional fighting in #Soledar continues.
▪️ The Russian Air Force has carried out airstrikes on targets in #Seversk.

Report from the front:
"Khokhol is trying to flank Krasny Liman, ours did not have time to build a full-fledged defense in the Svyatogorsk area. The APU has a promotion there. At the very Krasny Liman, our artillery is well hitting the crest. In Kupyansk the situation is unknown, the crest comes to the left bank.
Wagner continue to push the enemy at Artemovsk. The musicians break into another frontier of Ukrainian defense. In fact, they have to gnaw through everything that has been dug up around Gorlovka during the eight years of the war and fresh fortifications by the front on Popasnaya.
There is also situational progress opposite Donetsk. Sotka advanced in the Krasnogorovka area. Khokhol is also crushed north of the take-off. All this is quite slow, plus you have to be extremely careful so that the crests do not hit with a counter-attack.
At the same time, the enemy is shelling Donetsk, including the city center. Nothing out of the ordinary, traditional Ukrainian shelling. There is very little good in this.

Border areas of the Russian Federation:
▪️ During the day, Ukrainian militants shelled the village of Krasny Khutor in the #Belgorod region, killing one woman and wounding several others.
#Kharkov Direction:
▪️ Allied forces worked on enemy positions in Zolochev, Kudievka, Goptovka, Gorokhovatka, Razdolnoye and Strelechya.
▪️ Russian Forces carried out missile strikes on AFU facilities in the Kiev and Slobodskoy districts of #Kharkov, as well as in #Chuguyev district of the region.
#Slavyansk-#Barvenkovo Direction:
▪️ Near the #Oskol River, Russian Forces are engaged in heavy fighting near the village of #Rubtsy. Ukrainian formations are periodically dropping SRGs (Saboteur Reconnaissance Groups) into the Russian-controlled territory and attempt to reach #Borovoye.
The goal of the AFU is to advance in small groups into the rear of the Russian grouping to cut them off from the main supply lines.
▪️ The enemy has not given up its attempts to cross the #Oskol River near #Kupyansk to gain a bridgehead for a further offensive against the city.
#Bakhmut (#Artemovsk) Direction:
