On the formation of army corps within the AFU
A couple of days ago, we wrote about the impending reorganization of the Ukrainian army by reducing the number of anti-tank and reactive artillery divisions (PTADn and READn) within AFU brigades.
Personnel of the disbanded PTADN and READN, primarily officers, will be sent to the base of the 239th Combined Arms Range in Novomoskovsk in Dnipropetrovsk oblast (in/hr A1363).
Where will they be deployed?
Colonel Kokorev, deputy commander of the united command "East" (A1314), has ordered the officer staff of the abolished PTADN and READN of the 53, 54, 92, 93 brigades and 17 detachments of the AFU (in/hr A1302, A0501, A3283, A0536, A0693) to arrive at 239 polygon by 10.00 on January 8.
Within ten days, the disbanded units will join the newly established 10th Army Corps (AK) in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Some will be re-staffed with mobilized personnel and sent back to the front line in regular brigades.
🔻 The Army Corps to be formed will consist of various units from the Soledar and Starobel directions, withdrawn to be re-staffed or disbanded as PTADN and READN. The 10 AK will receive the most recent Western weapons and equipment.
🔻 What else is the AFU planning?
The 10th Army Corps is not the only tactical formation being created. According to the Finder ZVI channel, there are plans to create another AK in the Poltava region based on new formations within the AFU.
In particular, four new brigades are being formed in the Poltava region: the 116th brigade in Oposhna, the 117th in Matveevka and the 118th regiment in Golovach, as well as the 34th marines regiment in Komsomolsk and the 229th logistics battalion in Matyaschivka. Officers are trained at the 179 training center in Poltava.
Three provinces will be included in the area of responsibility of the AK. Now the mobilized men are being trained and are settling in hotels and civilian infrastructure facilities in major cities.
This AK will also be supplied with armaments from extreme western supplies. Likely, a convoy of Turkish Kirpi armored personnel carriers arriving in Ukraine will be handed over to the marines of the 34th AFU brigade.
🔻The ongoing reforms in the AFU are designed to facilitate the activities of tactical formations in operational areas. The creation of two corps tests the American battlefield command and control system.
If the plan is successfully implemented in the ranks of the Ukrainian army will increase the speed of making certain decisions, each corps will have structural units of attack aviation (bases in Mirgorod and Dolhintsevo), and the powers of commanders will be expanded.
