The Crimean bridge was attacked. Telegram is packed with hour by hour coverage of speculation. Nothing is definitive about how it exactly was done. Early news was a truck bomb. Later news speculates that the explosion occurred from under the bridge. Reports claim 3 deaths.

Current news suggests that a few spans are knocked down, but rail traffic has resumed and vehicle traffic is somewhat flowing. The supports are thought to be in good condition, and repairs are in progress.

I’m not going to go all out covering this until solid info is available. The bridge was damaged, Ukraine supporters are celebrating, and the bridge will be repaired. Other than optics, Russia probably is not greatly effected. Increased support in Russia for the war will likely be the result.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ Battle for #Kherson: Situation in the #Andreevka and #Berislav Sections at 16:00 on 8 Oct 2022⚡️

▪️ The 98th Battalion of the 60th Army Corps of the AFU, supported by artillery and MLRS from the #Petropavlovka area, attempted to storm the #Pyatikhatka - #Polyanka line. The Russian Forces repulsed the attack and destroyed the enemy troops and several vehicles.

▪️ Additional units of the 60th Infantry Brigade and several companies of the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade arrived in #Trifonovka and Novaya Kamenka to reinforce the AFU grouping.

▪️ The Ukrainian logistics services have deployed an advanced ammunition, fuel and lubricants depot near #Belyaevka. Electronic warfare equipment has also been deployed there.

▪️ In the #Andreevka sector, the command of the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade continues its consolidation on the line Davydov Brod - Malaya Aleksandrovka, while engineers of the 24th Mechanized Brigade equip strongholds in #Bezimennoye.

▪️ To cover the grouping, a "roving" AFU mortar carries out disruptive strikes in areas along the line of contact from Sukhoy Stavok.

▪️ Ukrainian assault squads conduct unsuccessful daily sorties against Russian Forces´ positions south of Davydov Brod throughout the day.

⚡️Russian Defence Ministry report on the progress of the special military operation in Ukraine (October 8, 2022)

◽️The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.

The Russian Defence Minister has appointed Army General Sergey Surovikin as commander of the combined group of troops (forces) in the area of the special military operation.

💥The enemy with the help of two reinforced battalions has attempted an offensive towards Kupyansk near Pershotravnyevoe and Yagodnoe (Kharkov region). All attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been successfully repelled by Russian troops. More than 100 Ukrainian servicemen, 2 tanks, 5 infantry fighting vehicles and 4 motor vehicles have been destroyed.

💥As a result of massive strikes on advancing enemy reserves near Petropavlovka (Kharkov region), more than 110 Ukrainian servicemen of the 14th Mechanized Brigade and the 19th Territorial Battalion of the AFU troops near Petropavlovka have been destroyed.

💥In another unsuccessful attempt by two reinforced companies of the AFU to cross the Zherebets River, Russian troops destroyed over 30 Ukrainian servicemen, 3 infantry fighting vehicles and 5 pick-up trucks towards Krasniy Liman.

💥The provisional bases of the 17th Tank Brigade and the 92nd Mechanized Brigade of the AFU have been destroyed by Russian Aerospace Forces near Seversk, Novoye and Yampolovka of the Donetsk People's Republic, over 100 Ukrainian servicemen and 12 units of military equipment have been eliminated.

💥An attempted counterattack by units of the 115th Mechanized Brigade and the 1st Ukrainian Presidential Regiment of the AFU has been repelled towards South of Donetsk. More than 90 Ukrainian servicemen, 2 tanks, 8 armoured fighting vehicles and 6 motor vehicles have been eliminated.

💥A temporary foreign mercenary position has been eliminated by high-precision weapons of Russian Aerospace Forces towards Zaporozhye. The attack has resulted in the elimination of over 160 militants.

💥The enemy attempted to launch an offensive by three battalion tactical groups, a tank battalion and a National Guard battalion from western Ukraine towards Sukhanovo, Pyatikhatki, Sadok, Ischenko, Bruskinskoye, Karlo-Marksovskoye and Malaya Seideminukha (Kherson region).

All the attacks by the AFU have been repelled.

💥More than 240 Ukrainian servicemen, 12 tanks, 14 armoured combat vehicles, 8 vehicles and 4 artillery pieces have been destroyed by Russian units.

💥54 artillery units in firing positions, manpower and military equipment in 174 areas have been hit by operational-tactical and army aviation, missile forces and artillery. Four munition depots have been eliminated near Grigorovka (Donetsk People's Republic), Uspenovka (Zaporozhye region), Nova Kamenka (Kherson region) and Nikolayev. A signal node of a Ukrainian group of troops has been destroyed near Vysshee Solyonoye (Kharkov region).

💥A Ukrainian MiG-29 aircraft has been shot down by Russian Aerospace Force's fighter aircraft near Chapayevka (Zaporozhye region).

💥 Air defence means destroyed 12 unmanned aerial vehicles, including one Bayraktar TB2, near Novy Bug (Nikolayev region), Bruskinskoye, Vysokoye, Karlo-Marksovskoye, Charivnoye (Kherson region), Ivanovka, Yasnoye, Zelenyi Gai and Yevgenovka (Donetsk People's Republic), Berestovoye (Kharkov region) and Novoyegorovka (Lugansk People's Republic).

💥 21 shells of the US HIMARS multiple-launch rocket system were shot down near Ilovaysk (Donetsk People's Republic), Novaya Kakhovka, Nikolskoye and Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, as well as a Tochka-U ballistic missile near Chervonyi Mayak (Kherson region).

📊In total, 316 airplanes and 158 helicopters, 2,176 unmanned aerial vehicles, 379 air defence missile systems, 5,494 tanks and other armoured combat vehicles, 866 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 3,457 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 6,395 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed during the special military operation.

⚠️Despite the presence of IAEA representatives at Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, Kiev regime continues provocations aimed at posing a threat to create a technological disaster.

◽️ Energodar and the area adjacent to the nuclear power plant were shelled twice by the AFU using Grad multiple rocket launchers.

◽️ A total of 15 rockets were fired by Ukrainian troops from the Marganets (Dnepropetrovsk region).

◽️ As a result of Ukrainian rockets hitting near the industrial zone, a power line supplying the plant's own needs and power supply to Energodar was knocked out.

💥Enemy firepower has been neutralised by Russian artillery's counter-attack. Backup diesel generators are in place to ensure the operation of the nuclear power plant.

◽️ Repair work to restore power supply to the nuclear power plant and the city of Energodar is currently being completed. The radiation environment at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant remains normal.

Military expert Boris Rozhin on the highlights of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine at 22.24 Moscow time on 08.10.2022 especially for Voenkor Kotenok Z @voenkorKotenok channel:

1. Svatovo-Kreminna. In positional fighting, the enemy is amassing forces for an offensive on Svatovo, probing the RF Armed Forces front line in areas to the northwest and south-west of Svatovo.

The enemy is also preparing for a secondary strike near Kremenna.

Both sides are now hurriedly pulling up additional forces to the front line in this area.

Intense fighting is expected to resume soon.

2. Artemivsk. Our troops continue their offensive southwest of Artemivsk, slowly advancing through the enemy's fortified positions near Zaitsevo (not yet fully cleared) and Otradivka (previously knocked out of there).

Fighting is taking place on the eastern outskirts of Artemivsk. A small advance was reported in the industrial zone.

No advancement in the direction of Kurdyumovka.

No significant changes in the Soledar area.

3. Nikopol direction. After advancing near Davydov Brod and Dudchan, the enemy has already launched several attacks on the new Russian defense line but has so far had no serious success, suffering significant losses in men and equipment.

Nevertheless, additional forces are being concentrated to try to break through to Berislav and further cut the Russian bridgehead on the right bank.

Serious fighting continues at Posad-Pokrovsky, Terny Pod, and Snigirevka. The enemy continues to hold the operational initiative in this direction.

4. In the Zaporizhzhya direction the enemy has made several attempts at battle reconnaissance but has not achieved significant success, suffering serious losses in men (including mercenaries) and equipment. There is a serious possibility of an enemy offensive in the Zaporizhzhia direction.

The enemy continues shelling the area of Novaya Kakhovka and Energodar.

Today there was a hit on one of the railway stations near Mariupol.

A train carrying fuel and lubricants in Ilovaysk was also hit. The enemy is trying to disrupt Russian supply lines to the south. The attempt to destroy the Crimean bridge is a step in the same direction. Fortunately, the railway bridge survived, which means it will continue to play a significant role in supplying our troops in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia directions.

5. In the Donetsk direction, our troops continue to mop up Pervomayskoye, gradually advancing in the settlement.

Near Avdeevka, Marinka, Ugledar, New York, and Dzerzhinsk - no significant changes.

In the #Kupyansk sector, units of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Battalions of the AFU´s 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade are advancing in several assault groups against the Russian positions from the west of #Tavolzhanka and from the south of #Olshany.

▪️ Russian barrel and rocket artillery, supported by reconnaissance UAVs, is massively shelling the advancing forces of the 14th Brigade. Ukrainian formations are unable to gain a foothold on the outskirts of populated areas under fire from Russian Forces.

▪️ An electronic warfare station is deployed near #Dvurechnaya to counter Russian drones.

▪️ Diversionary groups of the 92th Brigade try to break through the #Orlyanka - #Yagodnoye line. They are supported by M777 howitzer crews, while quadcopter-like UAVs provide targeting.

In the #Svatovo sector, Ukrainian Forces continue to gather personnel for an offensive against #Svatovo and #Kremennaya. According to some reports, more than According to some reports, more than ten thousand people are concentrated in the area.

▪️ The Ukrainian command continues preparations for a further assault on Russian positions at the #Andreevka and #Berislav sites.

In #Ternovka, tactical commanders of the 28th Separate Mechanized AFU Brigade and in Davydov Brod, the leadership of the 46th Airmobile Brigade met to plan further actions in the direction.

▪️ 93 units of military equipment were moved across the crossings to evacuate damaged equipment and build up the grouping on the left bank of the #Ingulets River. 104 units followed in the opposite direction.

▪️ On the evening of 8 October, the command of the 60th Infantry Brigade sent a mobile SRG to the area of #Pyatikhatki village to "probe" the defensive lines of the Russian Forces.

▪️ In addition, an AFU reconnaissance group attempted to break through south of Davydov Brod. Russian forces repulsed the attack and destroyed a Ukrainian BMD.

▪️ The battalion tactical group of the 17th Tank Brigade conducted armoured combat training near #Ukrainka. The compound's reactive battery was stationed near #Chervonoye.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ #YURI: Situation on the Fronts at the End of 8 Oct 2022⚡️

#Kherson Direction:

After yesterday's attempted breakthrough, which was met with a very tough response, the enemy is regrouping. Most likely tomorrow or the day after tomorrow the attack will continue. According to the guys at the front, the first battalions of mobilisers have been reported here.

#Zaporozhye Direction:

The relative calm continues. Reserves of both sides are also being drawn up here, but the enemy has not even conducted a reconnaissance battle yet, but SRGs have intensively begun to enter our territory, which means there will be an attack.

#Donetsk Direction:

Our troops, taking advantage of the weakening of the enemy's reserves, are advancing near #Pervomayskoye (the northern part of the village, heights) and #Maryinka - #Ugledar.

#Bakhmut (#Artemovsk) Direction:

The offensive south of the city and in the southeastern part of the city continues and is successful.

#Svatovo Direction:

So far the enemy has not been able to organize anything serious. Our aviation and artillery are disrupting offensive attempts.
