#Belgorod Region:

▪️ Ukrainian militants shelled the village of #Krasnoye in #Shebekinsky district of #Belgorod region, no injuries or casualties.

#Starobelsk Direction (MAP (https://t.me/sitrepmaps/109)):

▪️ There are no significant changes in the #Kupyansk area, with artillery duels along the line of contact.

▪️ In the #Svatovo sector, the enemy attempted an offensive on #Kuzemovka, but retreated to the #Berestovoye area after losing about 10 vehicles.

▪️ At the #Lyman sector, Ukrainian formations made an attempt to storm #Krasnopopovka from the direction of #Nevskoye, but on the march they fell into the fire bag of the 20th Army's 252nd Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment. After heavy losses, the enemy withdrew to positions near the eastern bank of the #Zherebet.

Nevertheless, the AFU retains considerable reserves in this area in the form of 6 BTGr, which allows the enemy to launch attacks without regard to own losses.

▪️ In the #Lysychansk sector, artillery duels occur at #Belogorovka and #Grigorovka.

#Soledar Direction:

▪️ The situation on the front has not changed significantly. There is fighting on the eastern outskirts of #Bakhmut, in the suburbs near the asphalt plant and on the outskirts of #Opytnoye and #Soledar.

#Donetsk Direction:

▪️ After a temporary overnight lull, Ukrainian militants shelled #Donetsk, #Makeevka, #Yasinovataya and #Gorlovka again, with civilian casualties.

#Lugansk People's Republic:

▪️ Ukrainian militants shelled #Pervomaysk overnight, damaging civilian infrastructure in the city.

A young woman was killed by the shelling, her child was orphaned.

#Zaporozhye Direction:

▪️ The AFU tried to storm the Russian positions on the heights near #Vremevka, but the attack failed. The enemy retreated and suffered losses of personnel and equipment.

#Dnipropetrovsk Region:

▪️ Russian Forces repeatedly attacked enemy targets in #Pavlograd. At the same time, Russian artillery operated on targets in #Nikopol.

#Nikolaev - #Berislav Direction on Southern Front:

▪️ Russian Forces carried out strikes on enemy positions in #Nikolaev, Davydov Brod and #Bereznegovatoye during the night.

▪️ AFU militants in turn, shelled Novaya Kakhovka, #Kherson, Bolshaya and Malaya Lepetikha. Most of the shells were intercepted by the air defence.

⚠️ Today at 4.20 am, the Kiev regime carried out a terrorist attack against the ships of the Black Sea Fleet and civilian ships that were on the outer and inner roadsteads of the Sevastopol base.

◽️The attack involved nine unmanned aerial vehicles and seven autonomous maritime drones.

💥The prompt measures taken by the forces of the Black Sea Fleet destroyed all air targets.

💥When repulsing the terrorist attack on the outer roadstead of Sevastopol, four marine unmanned vehicles were annihilated by shipborne weapons and maritime aviation of the Black Sea Fleet, and three more were destroyed on the inner roadstead.

◽️Minor damage was received by the sea minesweeper Ivan Golubets as well as the floating net boom in Yuzhnaya Bay.

◽️It should be emphasised that the ships of the Black Sea Fleet that were subjected to the terrorist attack are involved in ensuring the security of the ‘grain corridor’ as part of an international initiative to export agricultural products from Ukrainian ports.

◻️The preparation of this terrorist act and the training of military personnel of 73rd Marine Special Operations Center were carried out under supervision of British specialists in the city of Ochakov, Nikolayev region in Ukraine.

◽️According to the available information, representatives of this unit from the British Navy were involved in plotting, organising, and implementation of the terrorist attack in the Baltic Sea on 26 September this year to blow up the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines.

Drone attack at Sevastopol

At 4.20 a.m. today, the Kiev regime carried out a terrorist attack on Black Sea Fleet ships and civilian vessels on the outer and inner harbours of the Sevastopol base station.

◽️ The attack involved nine unmanned aerial vehicles and seven autonomous maritime drones.

💥 As a result of operational measures taken by the Black Sea Fleet's ships, all the aerial targets were destroyed.

💥 While repelling the terrorist attack on the outer harbour of Sevastopol, the Black Sea Fleet's naval aviation and ship-based weapons destroyed four unmanned aerial vehicles, while three more were destroyed on the inner harbour.

◽️ The Ivan Golubets minesweeper and the containment barrier in Yuzhnaya Bay sustained minor damage.

◽️ It should be stressed that the ships of the Black Sea Fleet, which suffered a terrorist attack, are involved in securing a "grain corridor" as part of an international initiative to export agricultural products from Ukrainian ports.

◽️ The preparation for this terrorist act and the training of military personnel of the Ukrainian 73rd Special Maritime Operations Centre was led by British specialists based in Ochakov, Mykolayiv region of Ukraine.

◽️ According to the information available, representatives of this unit of the British Navy were involved in the planning, provision and implementation of the terrorist act in the Baltic Sea on September 26 this year to undermine the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines.

The Ugledar Offensive of the Russian Army—Ongoing

Khodakovsky #1: In the Ugledar direction, in one of the areas we are attempting to attack the enemy. The aviation has worked intensively and our units have started to advance. I consider this decision premature, but hope for success.

Khodakovsky #2: The mud is impassable—even the UAZ had to be pushed yesterday. Because of this, we move slowly, the enemy had time to send reinforcements to the first line on armour—one Ukrainian IFV with airborne troops on top got stuck in the mud and was destroyed by our artillery. So far the score is in our favour.

Khodakovsky #3: Our units gradually approach Pavlovka, the resistance is desperate, the enemy even risked using aviation. Reaching the settlement is not a capture in itself—we have to consolidate ourselves. Pavlovka was under our control, but was lost back in the summer due to a number of mistakes. This village itself is about three times the size of Ugledar—if the enemy does not decide to withdraw, leveling the front, the capture of Pavlovka could take a lot of strength and time...

Starshe Eddy: Our troops have launched an offensive near Ugledar. Aircraft and artillery gave the enemy hell. The Khohol, in turn, has just worked its aviation on Chervonopopovka. We can say that a counter battle has begun. We are advancing near Ugledar, the Khohols are trying to make a play near Kremenna and Svatovo.

Military Observer: Unconfirmed reports indicate that units of the Russian Armed Forces have occupied the village of Pavlovka on the outskirts of Ugledar. The Russian Army has launched a major offensive in this direction this morning.

1. Ugledar.

Russian troops began their offensive in the morning. The troops reached the outskirts of Pavlovka. Fighting was taking place there by mid-day. The enemy was pushed back, but it is still premature to speak about a breakthrough.

2. Marinka.

Some movement of our troops to the north of the village has been reported.

3. Avdeevka.

Fighting continues for Pervomayskoye and in the direction of Vodyanoye. Small movements in our favour.

4. Artemovsk.

Fighting in the industrial zone and for the fortifications near Opytnoye.

No significant advancement to Kurdyumovka yet.

5. Svatovo-Kremennaya.

The enemy intensified pressure in the direction of the Svatovo-Kremiennaya highway, which is under enemy fire. The enemy also seized the village of Nevskoe near the village of Terny. Serious enemy attacks continue in this direction.

6. Kherson.

The enemy continues to probe our defenses in the Nikopol and Krivoy Rog directions, but is unable to achieve significant results. At the same time, the AFU suffers significant casualties here on a regular basis during such attacks and reconnaissance battles.

The AFU command says they want to capture Kherson by the end of November.

War map and the situation on the fronts on the evening of 29 October

A terrorist attack was launched today by the Kiev regime against the ships of the Black Sea Fleet that were securing the "grain corridor". The attack involved nine UAVs and seven maritime drones. All targets were destroyed, both in the air and in the water. One ship sustained minor damage. The response was not long in coming. Russia withdrew from the grain deal immediately after the attack, causing hysteria in Kiev and condemnation from the West.

⚔️The situation on the fronts in the outgoing 24 hours:

⚫️ Svatovo-Kreminna direction

Russian army strikes defeated two companies of militants together with units of foreign mercenaries in the districts of Tymkivka, Ivanivka, Tabayivka, and Krakhmalnoye in the Kharkiv region. Over 70 people, 1 tank, 2 BMPs, 2 APCs, and 10 vehicles were eliminated.

The Ukrainian armed forces continue unsuccessful attacks near Chervonopopovka LNR. Active artillery and frontline aviation actions destroyed over 70 personnel, 4 tanks, 2 armored vehicles, and 3 pickup trucks.

⚫️Ugledar direction

In the morning our troops launched an offensive on Ugledar. As a result of air and artillery action, the AFU suffered significant losses. Two Buk-M1 SAMs are known to have been hit by Russian kamikaze UAVs. As a result, the AFU positions west of Ugledar lost their "air defense umbrella".

Our columns broke the first line of defense and headed toward Pavlovka. Already now the Russian Armed Forces are controlling a large section of the Pokrovsk - Bakhmut - Mikhailovka highway with artillery.

⚫️ Kherson direction

The AFU, consisting of two companies, staged a breakthrough attempt in the direction of Bruskinskoye but was met by Russian aviation and Uragan MLRSs. The enemy suffered casualties and fled.

💡The Halloween celebrations in Seoul ended tragically. 146 people died, and at least 150 were injured in a stampede that formed in an alleyway near the Hamilton Hotel. Media reports say it could have been the appearance of a pop singer in one of the bars that the crowds flocked to see.

Special operation, 29 October. Main RIA Novosti:

▪️ Russia suspends it's participation in exports from Ukrainian ports due to terrorist attack in Sevastopol waters, according to the Defence Ministry;

▪️During the early hours of this morning, Kiev carried out a terrorist attack on Black Sea Fleet ships and civilian vessels on the outer and inner roads of the Sevastopol basing point;

▪️ British naval officials were involved in the planning, provision and execution of a terrorist attack in the Baltic Sea on 26 September to undermine Nord Streams, the Ministry of Defence said;

▪️ These same British specialists were also in charge of preparing the attack on Sevastopol, training soldiers from Ukraine's 73rd Special Maritime Operations Centre, the ministry said;

▪️ The Russian Foreign Ministry said the Russian side would draw the attention of the international community, including the UN Security Council, to the series of terrorist attacks in the Black Sea and the Baltic Sea, including Britain's involvement in them, and practical steps were being worked out in this regard;

▪️ A total of 2,370 drones have been destroyed by Russian forces since the start of the special operation;

▪️ Russian tactical and army aviation, as well as missile forces and artillery, hit nine Ukrainian troop control points;

▪️ 68 artillery units in firing positions, manpower and military equipment in 189 areas were hit. Two ammunition depots were destroyed in Kherson region and the DNR;

▪️ Russian air defence systems shot down 14 Ukrainian drones, 9 HIMARS missiles, and 8 HARM anti-radar missiles in the past 24 hours;

▪️ In Kharkiv Oblast and LNR, Russian troops destroyed more than 140 militants, including mercenaries, and 2 launchers of US HIMARS MLRS overnight;

▪️ As a result of the negotiation process, 50 Russian servicemen, who were in mortal danger in captivity, have been returned from Kiev-controlled territory and will be taken to Moscow for treatment and rehabilitation, the Russian Defence Ministry has said.

❗️🇷🇺🇺🇦 Offensive in the Donetsk direction

Situation by the end of October 29, 2022

▪️ Units of the Sparta battalion and other units of the Russian Armed Forces managed to consolidate in the village of Vodyanoye north of the Peski settlement.

▪️Russian Armed Forces assault groups are fighting on the outskirts of the village of Opytnoye, an important defence node of the Avdееvka fortification.

▪️Fighting is taking place in the western part of Pervomayskoye, as well as in the eastern part of the village of Vodyanoye.

🔻 The final clearing of Pervomaiskoye and Nevelskoye settlements will provide an opportunity to develop an offensive on Netailovo and Krasnogorovka, and an advance north from Vodyanoye and Opytnoye to Orlovka to further encircle the Avdeevka fortified area.

It is from these settlements that the Ukrainian armed forces are firing indiscriminately on towns in the Donetsk agglomeration on a daily basis. Their capture will move the front line away from the administrative centre of the DNR and reduce the intensity of artillery strikes.

🔻Sevastopol and the Republic of Crimea:

▪️Ukrainian air and sea drones launched an attack on the ships and infrastructure of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol Bay.

▪️The air defence, navy and aviation forces repelled the enemy raid: two ships and one berth sustained non-critical damage. In response to the incident, the Russian authorities announced the suspension of the "grain deal".

🔻 Belgorod and Kursk regions:

▪️Ukrainian formations shelled residential buildings in Stariy farmstead in Volokonovsky district of Belgorod region. No injuries or casualtieswere reported.

▪️A Ukrainian drone struck a substation on the outskirts of the town of Suja in the Kursk region. Shrapnel damaged the transformer, the facility is operating normally.

🔻Starobelsk direction:

▪️The Ukrainian command is pulling forces together to prepare for another offensive on Kuzemovka. Russian artillery has launched a preemptive strike on AFU concentrations.

▪️The Ukrainian Armed Forces made a new attempt to attack the Russian Armed Forces' positions near Torskoye. After targeted Russian artillery strikes, the enemy withdrew to its initial positions, suffering significant losses in manpower and equipment.

▪️A battalion and tactical group of the Ukrainian armed forces, supported by foreign mercenaries, attacked Russian Armed Forces positions near Makeevka from the direction of Tern and Torskoye. The enemy entered the village, but by evening, units of the 144 and 3 Motorized Rifle Divisions of the 20th Army of the Russian Armed Forces had already driven them back to their original lines.

🔻Soledar direction:

▪️Significant changes in the situation on the front. Fighting continues on the outskirts of Bakhmut, Opytnoye and Soledar.

🔻Donetsk direction:

▪️Russian forces launched an offensive on the village of Pavlovka, a major stronghold south of Ugledar. Russian forces occupied the advanced positions of the AFU and reached the southern outskirts of the village.

▪️NM DNR units continue to advance north of Donetsk airport. They have gained a foothold in the southeastern part of the Vodyanoye village and also in the outbuilding in the southern part of Opytnoye. Russian forces also continue to advance in Pervomayskoye.

▪️Ukrainian formations shelled Donetsk, Aleksandrovka, Makeevka, Stepnoye, Staromikhailovka and other settlements in the agglomeration.

🔻Zaporozhye direction:

▪️In the afternoon, Russian troops struck a critical infrastructure facility in Zaporozhye. An aluminium smelter was damaged: according to preliminary reports, it was the location of a foreign mercenaries' deployment site.

🔻 Southern Front: Nikolaevsko-Berislavsk direction

▪️UFU units attempted an offensive near the village of Bruskinskoye, Russian units repulsed the attack.

▪️The Russian Armed Forces carried out strikes against enemy positions in Nykolayev, Trifonovka, Andreevka and Novoalexandrovka.

▪️Ukrainian formations fired HIMARS MLRSs at the Kherson river port area, all fired missiles were intercepted by air defence assets. There were no casualties.

▪️The Ukrainian Armed Forces fired 12 rockets at a pontoon crossing near the Antonov Bridge in Kherson overnight, three of which hit the target.

The attempt to stymie the flow of advanced chips into Russia was already a desperate and hopeless endeavor to begin with, but falling semiconductor prices mean that anybody willing to sell to Russia through intermediaries will be able to earn a premium while their competitors face unsold stock.

But some American national security veterans disagree with the optimistic assessment from U.S. President Joe Biden’s team. They say Western governments have little ability to stop other regimes — particularly China — from transferring microchips to Russia.

The controls on chips “are about as tight as a screen door,” said Matthew Turpin, the U.S. National Security Council director for China from 2018 to 2019. “China and Russia share a 4,300-kilometer border. There is absolutely no way we could detect if those chips are passed from China to Russia.”

The U.S. Commerce Department has repeatedly said it has seen no evidence that China is transferring technologies to Russia, which could open Beijing to severe sanctions. But the Chinese government has also said it would put no new limits on its commercial relationship with Russia, and Turpin and others say there is almost no way Western governments can be certain of their behavior.

Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security, which oversees tech sanctions, has “fewer than 10 ‘inspectors’ in China which are supposed to determine whether chips have been diverted to Chinese military use,” Turpin said, adding that “we are not effective in inspections” because the Chinese government requires prior warning.
