⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ Battle for Avdeevka; situation at the end of 28 August 2022⚡️
Units of the DPR People's Militia, supported by Russian artillery, are fighting on the outskirts of #Avdeevka.
▪️ South of #Avdeevka, units of the 1st Slavyansk Brigade are advancing on #Opytnoye from the direction of #Spartak. The AFU positions on the front line behind #Donetsk airport have been reinforced since 2014. A powerful fortress with equipped long-term fire positions has been built. Clearing every hundred metres in the direction of the Donetsk Ring Road requires hard work by the artillery and infantry of the allied forces.
North of the Butovka mine, units of the DPR People's Militia have reached the Donetsk Ring Road.
AFU positions on the western part of the Donetsk airport runway are subjected to concentrated daily drum and rocket artillery fire.
Between #Peski and #Pervomaiskoye, Allied forces are also using "wall of fire" tactics on AFU positions near the Donetsk Ring Road bridge and the Donetsk Seed Station.
▪️ On the eastern side of #Avdeyevka, Allied forces have reached the Donetsk-Konstantinovka road from #Novobakhmutskoye to #Kamenka.
South of #Kamenka, there is intense artillery and rocket fire on positions of Ukrainian forces near the #Dacha settlements near Krutaya Balka and the forest near the Donetsk water purification plant. DPR People's Militia tanks operate from the Donetsk Ring Road on the positions of Ukrainian forces.
▪️ North of #Avdeevka, the DPR People's Militia made an attempt to storm #Krasnogorovka. However, they did not succeed in capturing the settlement and the People's Militia units consolidated in the outskirts.
The slow advance in the #Avdeevka direction was due to the desire to save infantry.
The main role in the battle for Avdeevka is played by the "rampart" tactic - massive artillery attacks aimed at the complete destruction of the enemy troops and positions.
Since there are no civilians in the settlements along the Donetsk Ring Road, the artillery units of the Russian armed forces and the DPR Militia can carry out indiscriminate continuous shelling that literally burns and razes the AFU positions to the ground.
In #Peski alone, the AFU has lost more than half a thousand men, according to Ukrainian field commanders. The Ukrainian side holds its positions along the ring road and literally fills the front line with corpses that are not removed by anyone. The bodies of the Ukrainian militants are decomposing right in their positions.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ Situation in the Battle of Kodema at the end of 28 August 2022⚡️
On 28 August, a video appeared with a salute of the Wagner PMC assault units from the eastern part of #Kodema village, located south of #Bakhmut (#Artemovsk).
Despite the bravura statements of some DPR channels, the settlement is not yet fully occupied.
The advance of the Wagner PMC fighters is hampered by the numerical superiority of the AFU militants as well as by barrages from the dominating heights.
To the west, the village borders on a hill on which a fortified position has been built. The entire village is clearly visible from the hill and can be shelled from there.
However, the PMC assault forces have already succeeded in capturing half of #Kodema and it is likely to fall in the next few days.
The capture of #Kodema is important for the further clearance of the southern approaches to #Bakhmut.
Although the PMC units there have reached the Patrice-Lumumba Street, the storming of the town has not yet begun. This can only be discussed once the former #Artemovsk has been taken in a semicircle and the entire southern flank is in Allies´ hands.
The slow advance in the #Avdeevka direction was due to the desire to keep infantry losses low.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ Kherson "Counteroffensive" Latest 4⚡️
A small and belated breakdown of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' breakthrough in the Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog direction:
For the last three days and two nights, the Ukrainian side has been particularly approachable in selecting targets for HIMARS strikes against Russian Armed Forces facilities in the #Kherson region. Also in the area of the Ingulets River, the work of enemy reconnaissance units was repeatedly observed, including by forcing the Ingulets River by boat.
This night, after further HIMARS strikes, the enemy attempted a breakthrough in several directions. They engaged up to three crossing points which they were unable to defeat. The advance of the enemy was also carried out with the support of a tank fist with a force of up to a company. The work of the enemy aviation was noted, at least by helicopter.
Of the successful attacks for the enemy, three ended. One of the successful ones was from the direction Andreevka-Lozovoye, as a result of which the AFU advanced by almost 6 (*self corrected) kilometres and occupied the village of Sukhoy Stavok.
An unsuccessful breakthrough attempt for the Ukrainian side turned out to be in the north-east of the direction, in the neat settlements of Lubimovka, Myrolyubovka, Dobryanka, Olgino, Potemkino and Vysokopolye. Here paratroopers and guys from the Black Sea Fleet brigade (hello, guys, have seen you) gave quite a good counterattack. But the enemy did not give up trying to encircle our forces in Vysokopolye, fortunately here without success. According to tactics already worked out, it is possible to use territorial defence forces for assault tasks, and enemy volunteer units for mopping up.
On the whole, it is too early to talk about more precise advances and rollbacks, the situation is developing with variable success for each side. What can be said for certain is that the enemy has not approached the issue with a hurrah, but with all the confidence in its forces. The AFU has managed to gain a foothold and create a bridgehead in one of the breached sections. The enemy is awaiting the approach of its forces. Their main manoeuvres to withdraw their forces to their positions will probably be carried out with the onset of darkness.
We play from defence. There are expectations that the AFU will strike as much as it can at the road infrastructure of the Kakhovska HPP.

The situation in the Nikolaevsko-Krivorozhskoye direction
as of 21.00 on 29 August 2022
During the night of 28 to 29 August, the AFU inflicted a massive fire attack on Russian Armed Forces reserves and military facilities in Nova Kakhovka and Berislav.
In the morning, the AFU launched a counteroffensive along the entire front, engaging the remaining armored reserves in the Nikolaevsko-Kryvyi Rih direction. Up to a company of the enemy and half a dozen armored vehicles were advancing in certain areas.
In total, the offensive was conducted at five sites.
🔻 Aleksandrovsko-Kherson section - fighting continues, disruption of the AFU offensive in 2 of 3 directions.
▪️The offensive developed in three directions: from Luparevo to Aleksandrovka and from Posad-Pokrovsky to Pravdino and Kherson.
▪️ The offensive from Luparevo was repulsed: the Ukrainian armed forces withdrew to the starting line after losing three tanks.
▪️After an attempted offensive along the Mykolaiv-Kherson highway, the temporary occupation, and the subsequent loss of Kiselevka, the Ukrainian Armed Forces concentrated on shelling Russian Armed Forces positions in Pravdino. The total number of Ukrainian formations involved in the assault is about a hundred men and about 20 armored vehicles.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to temporarily occupy the village, but then it was back under the control of the Russian Armed Forces. Fighting for Pravdino continues to this day.
▪️Support for the AFU in this section of the front was provided by Su-25 Grach attack aircraft: in the middle of the day, the Ukrainian Air Force lost them.
🔻 Snigyrev sector - disruption of the AFU offensive.
▪️ The AFU attempted to counterattack in the direction of Blagodatnoye from the Nikolayev - Snigirevka highway and the fortified area in Pervomayskoye. After losing two BMPs and ten personnel, the AFU retreated.
▪️A Ukrainian Air Force Mi-8 military transport helicopter was shot down over Kiselevka, south of Pervomayskoye: Ukrainian formations attempted to fire machine guns mounted inside the Mi-8 at the positions of Russian troops.
🔻 The Andreevsky section is a successful offensive by the AFU.
▪️ The AFU managed to break through the defense of the DNR reservists and occupy the village of Sukhoy Stavok, located 4km to the southeast. Up to 20 pieces of equipment have been moved to the seized bridgehead and are already deployed in Sukhoy Stavok.
▪️ At the same time, the Ukrainian armed forces launched an offensive towards Lozovoye (2 km to the northeast): over 10 units of armored vehicles have been deployed there.
▪️The Russian Armed Forces are attempting to destroy the AFU equipment with aviation and artillery fire. Given that Sukhoi Stavok is in the bare steppe, without anchoring in Lozovoye and transferring a significant part of the reserves to the south, the BTGr that entered Stavok will be an easy target for artillery.
🔻 Davydovo-Brodsky section - disruption of the AFU offensive.
▪️Dense artillery and aviation fire disrupted the AFU's attempt to cross to the southern bank of the Ingulets River.
🔻 The Vysokopolsky section is the continuation of the offensive by the Ukrainian armed forces.
▪️ By midday, the AFU blocked with fire a grouping of Russian Armed Forces troops deployed near the southern outskirts of Olhyno and Vysokopolye. The enemy moved more than 10 armored vehicles in this direction. Fighting is still going on.
▪️ The Russian Armed Force's retaliatory artillery fire continues to destroy the enemy's accumulated reserves and also unsuccessfully attempted to extend their area of control towards Potemkin.
▪️ From the east at the Lubimovka-Miroliubovka-Dobryanka line, the AFU failed to advance.
🔻Intermediate results🔻
The AFU is now activating the very reserves that were accumulated for the battle for Kherson. More precisely, the remnants of the reserves (in July-August, a significant part of the force was transferred to Soledar, Avdeevka, and Ugledar).

Reminder of our prediction
I dunno about you, but I think moving tanks in a flat field against artillery is a bad move.
