Yes, we can destroy the Leopard 2. No, it won't be easy.
By Subaru X
It's official - Germany agreed to provide 14 Leopard-2 Main Battle Tanks to Ukraine, and allow Poland and Finland to donate similar numbers of the tank.
Many commentators are dismissive of this deal, saying a few dozen MBTs will make no difference, the AFU has insufficient trained personnel to use them effectively and no resources to maintain them. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said any western tanks delivered to Ukraine would "burn like all the others". To any pro-Russian observer this is all very reassuring.
Be certain however - the appearance of even a few dozen of these machines on the battlefield is a major development, and a threat which the Armed Forces of Russia takes very seriously.
A modern MBT is a heavily armed and armoured, network connected, autonomous, mobile battle station. The presence of just a few Leopard 2s can multiply the fighting power of an entire brigade, due to the weapons, sensors, communication and protection they bring.
MBTs such as the Leopard 2 are not easy targets to destroy. They cannot be destroyed by indirect fire - only direct hits by armour piercing weapons can stop them. We can use our own MBTs as tank killers but this will expose them and their crews to very high risk. We can attack from the air, however the enemy maintains effective point air defence so again this risks our precious aviation assets - both machines and personnel.
Infantry-operated anti-tank weapons are the final option. Any infantry soldier who has faced off against an enemy MBT and survived, knows how difficult and dangerous that mission is.
Just as Mr. Peskov promised, we will eventually burn every German tank which invades our land. Whatever the cost. Let's just not pretend it will be easy.

🔻In the Orekhovsky sector, Russian troops are conducting fire training before storming the Ukrainian positions near Orekhovo. According to the Ukrainian grouping of troops "Zaporozhye", separate assault detachments of the RF Armed Forces conduct attacks on the strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Shcherbaki, Novodanilovka, Novopokrovka.
▪️In addition, the forces of the 2nd battalion of the 9th special forces regiment "Gepard" of the National Guard of Ukraine are on full combat readiness in anticipation of the resumption of the offensive on the Kamianske-Stepovoye line.

🔻In the area of the Vremyevsky ledge, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are strengthening their positions at the turn of Vremyevka - Bolshaya Novoselka. Reinforcements arrived at the strongholds of the 108th brigade of the defense.
▪️Mobile fire teams with large-caliber mortars are actively operating along the site. Mortar shells were placed on the front lines in Olgovsky and Novoselka.

As the U.S. government is now preparing to send dozens of M1 Abrams tanks to the Ukrainian military, much attention has been given to concerns about how their complex electronic components and especially their gas turbine propulsion systems could make them particularly difficult to operate and maintain. Though it’s not yet clear what specific variant of the Abrams Ukraine’s military is set to receive, the tanks will have to be in a unique export configuration. This is largely due to the highly classified armor packages found specifically on U.S. military versions, which contain depleted uranium, and that are not readily exportable even to major allies. In other words, the U.S. can’t just send its M1s to Ukraine.
The Zelenskyy regime is desperate. It is reportedly losing more than 300 soldiers a day in eastern Ukraine. The latest effort by the doomed regime to throw men and foreign war materiel at a slow and overpowering Russian advance in Donbas will completely fall apart.
The regime is now busy abducting potential bullet stoppers in the Zakarpattia Oblast (Ruthenia), situated in the Carpathian Mountains of southwestern Ukraine, between Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania.
“Due to heavy losses, which exceed all previous ones, radical methods are used to replenish the numbers [of troops]. According to local sources, the Ukrainian authorities plan to call up 10,000 people from Transcarpathia by spring,” Hungarian journalists told EuroWeekly…
National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby on Wednesday discussed the recent decision by the United States to provide 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine.
Among the topics Kirby talked about during a press conference were certain issues Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's military forces may experience with the tanks, including the potentially large problem of fueling the battle vehicles.
Abrams tanks run on a "gas turbine engine which needs jet fuel," Kirby said. "So there's a specific type of fuel that powers the Abrams, and we've got to make sure that pipeline—literally and figuratively—is available to Ukraine."….

Ugledar Will Fall
Sources in the 105th Regiment of the DPR People's Militia believe that an overnight assault on Ugledar today could put an end to the enemy grouping in the city by the morning. The supply of the AFU grouping in Ugledar has already been cut off. The routes are under fire control of the Russian Armed Forces. Next is the ultimatum to surrender and mopping up.
———————————————————
GB: The supply route through Perechistovka—Velikaya Novoselka—Pokrovskoye—Zaparozhye has been cut for quite some time, ever since the Russian Army re-liberated Pavlovka. The twin slicing attacks from Pavlovka and Nikolskoye this week terminated the remaining communications of the Ukrainian Ugledar grouping.
First, the route northeast through Konstantinovka to Maryinka, then onwards to Kurakhovo and Pokrovsk, has been tenuous for a long time due to the Russian Army's advance in Maryinka. Nonetheless, the offensive northwest from Nikolskoye put an end to this line for good.
Second, and last, the path through Bogoyavlenka to Kurakhovo and then to the the last line of Ukrainian defence in Donbass, at Pokrovsk, then onto Pavlograd and Dnepropetrovsk, has been terminated by the northeast offensive from Pavlovka.
In this, the 105th Regiment sources are correct. All supply routes to Ugledar have been cut off. The Ukrainians should surrender or attempt to withdraw through the fields, north to Kurakhovo. However, I've fallen into this trap before—the Ukrainians shoudl have withdrawn from Severodonetsk and Lisichansk, and yet they preferred to lose at least ten thousand men fighting for this line of defence. The losses along the Seversk—Soledar—Artyomovsk line are countless.
The Kiev regime does not want to save its soldiers or its people. It is in place to perform a task—that of fighting Russia. I do not know whether Ugledar will fall tonight. However, it is likely to fall by the end of this week.
