Middle East - Biden Term
For the last year, I’ve followed the conflicts between Israel and Gaza, The West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iran.
This article is not about who is right or wrong in the conflict. It is about the failure of journalism in America. Journalism should be about shining light on facts, not shaping opinions.
This article is to document some of what the MSM failed to report to the left during the Biden years. I’ll do the same when Trump takes on the responsibility. I do so not to shame people, but to wake them up to the MSM’s complicity in hiding this.
There have been very vocal groups in the USA demanding a stop. They have been a vast minority of voices. They have been labeled Anti-Semitic, de-platformed, and mostly ignored by MSM.
For the last year, the left has been split on the issue. On one side you have young people protesting the war and occupying college campuses. On the other, you have people not even talking about the Middle East. The latter side appears to take MSM reporting at face value.
I’ve noticed that in conversations over the last year that most Biden / Harris Democrats that I have spoken to seem to be under the impression that the Biden administration has done a great deal to restrain Israel. This is no doubt attributed to the MSM refusing to look critically at the US involvement in this conflict. The MSM did its best to reelect Biden then Harris. It buried the actual news from the Middle East for a full year.
What I am seeing now that Donald Trump has been elected is the start of a shift in the MSM, and its believers. I’ve heard more than a few say they fear that Trump is going to usher in Genocide in Palestine. I think we can fully expect the left to reunite under this theme once Trump is in control.
In one of my conversations, a highly educated friend of mine told me that what was happening in Gaza was not a genocide. It wasn’t one because genocide means ‘killing’ all of a race or ethnic group. When I reminded them that Jewish people still exist, the goalpost was moved to ‘trying to kill all’. Were they right? I wondered. So I researched it. Everyone can have their own definitions and facts these days, so I checked with the UN. Here is what I found:

In the next section I will begin to add, and continue adding material, from the Biden era. In the comments, I urge readers to add links they think should be considered.
The United States is overwhelmingly the biggest supplier of arms to Israel. In 2023 69% of Israel’s arm imports came from the US, according to a report into international arms transfers by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). Germany was the second largest, providing 30%, followed by Italy with 0.9%. The UK, France and Spain were among other minor contributors.
