Highlights of Russian Military Operation in Ukraine on July 7
▪️In the Starobil's'k direction, the enemy made a number of attempts to attack Russian positions.
In the Svatove sector, the AFU attacks were repulsed near Karmazynivka, Makiivka and Balka Zhuravka.
▪️To the south, the AFU attempted to counterattack in the area of the Tors'ke salient and the Serebryansʹkyy forestry.
Nevertheless, Russian units hold their defensive lines in this section of the front.
▪️North of Bakhmut, the AFU command also took a tactical pause to redeploy reinforcements to the combat zone.
Russian troops are strengthening their defenses in previously liberated territories, preparing to repel new attacks by the AFU.
▪️To the south, fierce fighting continues for tactical heights and strongholds near Klishchiivka.
Russian forces launched a series of counterattacks to improve positions around the settlement.

On July 7, a blow was struck at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the Avdeevka Coke Plant. It looks like nothing special, but it really is.
Where are the Armed Forces of Ukraine located in Avdeevka?
The area of the industrial zone, which is controlled by Ukrainian troops at the Avdeevka chemical plant, is about 340 hectares. However, not all territory is suitable for deployment of troops or firing positions. Avdeevka coke plant is well visible from the air, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine have practically no positions in open areas - military equipment, which is located on the territory of the plant or in nearby forest plantations, is used in a dosed and cautious manner. A significant part of the units occupying the industrial zone at the moment are trying not to leave the fortifications until dark. However, apparently, the command of the RF Armed Forces still has a rough understanding of how Ukrainian troops are deployed inside concrete bunkers on the territory of the industrial zone.
Why are they hitting the plant?
One of the sighting strikes was inflicted on the fortified positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the end of May. Then, presumably, the BetAB-500 concrete-piercing bomb (which can be set to three different types of deceleration upon contact with the target using a fuse) pierced several layers of concrete floors, after which it destroyed the ammunition depot and (partially) the location of the Ukrainian military under coke shop No. 2 .
The second strike, which was presumably also inflicted by guided weapons on July 7, led to a similar result - a fire and detonation of ammunition. However, this time, most likely, the AFU warehouse between coke shops No. 3 and 4 was hit. Both hits, presumably, pursued two goals.
The first is to force the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of the coke plant to actively use radio communications. Voice messages requesting evacuation in such situations can tell a lot about the nature of the arrival and the position of the units as a whole.
The second is to force the Armed Forces of Ukraine to change positions and start fussing, which means making mistakes. According to the Military Chronicle, after the first arrival of an aerial bomb in May, Ukrainian troops were forced to redistribute a significant part of the ammunition and equipment between several underground rooms. Also, judging by indirect information, for security purposes, the buried command post was also moved, to which information from all units in the area flows.
If there is no major destruction, why inflict such blows?
According to the Military Chronicle, a significant part of the officer corps of several units at once is located at the buried facilities at the Avdeevka coke plant (and in its immediate vicinity): the 1st separate tank brigade, the 36th marines brigade, and the 13th separate rifle battalion .
The practice of strikes on headquarters and command posts shortly before the start (and a month after the activation) of the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Zaporozhye and in the South-Donetsk direction showed that without an effective commanding staff (which does not appear on its own and is not reproduced forcibly), the effectiveness of ground forces is reduced to the minimum.
In the first days of July alone, 12 senior and middle-level officers, in ranks up to lieutenant colonel, were destroyed by high-precision weapons. The Avdeevka Coke is valuable in this regard because the location of most officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is already known. It remains only to pick up a special "key" to the doors of concrete bunkers, where they hold operational meetings.

Crocodile tears - the US is “regretful”, but sends cluster munitions to Ukraine
Although cluster munitions are not conventional, in reality, many countries use them, including Russia and Ukraine. Moreover, they have been repeatedly used in the Ukrainian conflict earlier. Such shells are in service with both the Russian army and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The very concept of "banning" cluster munitions is highly hypocritical. Residents of conditional Donetsk as a whole do not care whether they are fired at by “non-conventional” cluster warheads from the Tochka-U complex or by “conventional” HIMARS missiles stuffed with small tungsten balls because both ammunition is approximately equally deadly and “indiscriminate”.
The fact that the Americans nevertheless decided to supply such ammunition only tells us that everything is very bad with conventional shells. The Ukrainians are simply shoved away with the “wrong” shells stale in the warehouses.
But the height of cynicism is the statements of national security adviser Jake Sullivan at a press conference at the White House: “We understand that cluster bombs pose a risk to civilians. That's why we put off this decision as long as we could... but it will be even more risky if Russian troops go ahead and take even more Ukrainian territory because Ukraine has no artillery."
Americans don't care about Russians, don't care about Ukrainians, don't care about civilians in general. The problems of the "Indians" do not worry the "sheriff" too much at all. We must not let Russia win, but how many civilians die is not important.
At the same time, knowing the methods of warfare on the part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they will certainly use cluster munitions for terrorist attacks on cities, for example, on the same Donetsk.
After all, this is a much more vulnerable target for these shells than Russian troops dug into the ground.

▫️The enemy losses were over 30 servicemen, 2 motor vehicles and 1 U.S.-manufactured AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radar.
▫️In Kherson direction, the enemy losses were up to 40 servicemen, 1 tank, 4 motor vehicles and 1 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system.
▫️Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have neutralised 102 artillery units of the AFU at their firing positions, manpower and military hardware at 126 areas.
▫️1 fuel base for AFU military equipment has been hit close to Zaporozhye.
▫️Air defence facilities have shot down 1 Su-27 airplane of Ukrainian Air Force near Novogrigorovka DPR. 6 HIMARS multiple-launch rocket system projectiles have been intercepted.

I would like to believe that when the deal was concluded on the exchange, its authors understood everything about Turkey and our situation. That there was a special reason for the exchange, that the Nazis were exchanged not only for Medvedchuk (I heard about both pilots and agents, but this is all at the level of a conversation), with whom there are a lot of questions. Why, why?
The footage where Zelensky meets the "Azovites" will, of course, now be knocked out from under the feet of many in Russia. It is necessary to call things by their proper names, now many have in their heads the question "Why are we fighting at all if this is happening?".
But if without emotion. They gave the ghouls to Kiev. Does this affect the result of the war? No. From the point of view of the information war, this is certainly a serious blow to us and a motivation for Ukrainians. But the end result of the war is influenced by something else.
The supply of cluster munitions by the Americans, other military supplies, our military industry, the economy affects, the presence or absence of boats, who has stronger nerves, also affects. In short, we ourselves ultimately influence this result. It is understandable - to fight or help the front when the "Azov" people fly to Kiev, it is morally more difficult at times.
We just don't have an option. We either get up and fight on, or give up, because all this shit happened.
Are you ready to give up? Ready to break? Shall we go whine or shall we continue our journey through the dark times? Here, of course, everyone decides for himself. But if for whom the war is not yet over, if for whom there was no end, then we continue.
But in general, history shows that a Russian person can forgive the mistakes of the authorities. And stupidity too. Or, let's say, the human vices of a leader, let's say, a passion for drinking. Much can be forgiven. In this sense, a Russian person perceives the world in a completely Christian way, such as whoever is not without sin, we are all sinners. A Russian person does not forgive when it seems to him that the authorities are weak or crafty. A Russian person is so arranged that he wants to understand what happened, he needs to be talked to.
It is the deepest and most dangerous delusion to perceive the cautious silence of a Russian person on some sensitive issues (I mean in a broad sense, I mean all citizens of the country) as complete agreement with all actions, or as a lack of interest in what is happening. No. People expect that someday they will still be explained what exactly happened in this or that situation. Why did it happen? What are the conclusions? I really hope that this is understandable not only to me, as a historian. Especially after the Rostov events.
However, I will repeat the most important. The war is not over. There was no rebound.
I wrote many times before that there will be dark and gloomy days, and we will also have defeats. So do not despair on the days of defeat, and do not rejoice too much on the days of victories. The path is long. We need both strength and nerves on this path. No matter how difficult it was. But. You can give up when there are a few steps left before victory. I don't want that.
Volhynia, Kalina, Radish, and others, we wish you a speedy dispatch to the front. From the point of view of PR for Kiev, this is now a very profitable step. And then the heroic lads stayed up in Turkey. And ours were waiting for them at the front, as far as I know. And they don't seem to want to take them prisoner.

AFU militants had set up an ammunition depot in one of the houses in what was once a housing estate, to provide ammunition for the assaulting units. Our reconnaissance team discovered the target and had reported the coordinates. A precise hit destroyed the depot.

While all attention is focused on the return of the Azov commanders to Ukraine, active battles continue at the front.
❗️In the early morning, the enemy landed an assault group with an armored combat vehicle in a forest belt northeast of Rabotino .
The Ukrainian detachment swooped down on the junction of the defense of the regiments of the RF Armed Forces and was able to break through to the advanced strongholds. Now the fighting is going on for the positions of the 7th company of the 71st motorized rifle regiment of the Russian army.
At the same time, the Zaporozhye Front @ ZA_FROHT reports that today it was raining heavily for several hours, because of which the roads and approaches were completely washed out. The Ukrainian assault group entered the front line, but remained cut off from supplies and reinforcements. Shooting battles continue.
🔻 And to the west of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, significant units were withdrawn from the Pyatikhatok area. The maneuver is not yet entirely clear, but it should not be associated with a retreat. Most likely there is a rotation and replenishment of forces.
