"Lancets" used on 500 targets: RT analysis
Loitering ammunition has long been as effective a weapon as artillery or rockets. Why are Lancets so effective on the battlefield?
How are they applied?
Loitering ammunition crews can use Lancets both from a minimum distance and from a distance of several tens of kilometers. For the older version of the Lancet-3 drone, the maximum target engagement range is about 50 km. From such a distance, the drone's electric motor cannot be heard, and stealth and a stable control channel make it possible to almost completely eliminate the interception of the UAV. Lancet operators note that drones can be used in winter, in rain and snow, as well as in low cloud cover. The Lancet's guidance system allows for maximum hit accuracy under any conditions.
What targets does the Lancet hit in the SMO zone?
Of the 500 launches, a significant part falls on M-777 howitzers and other field artillery guns, as well as mortars of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The list of targets destroyed by the Lancet also includes German Leopard 2 tanks, American Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, IRIS-T SLM and Strela-10 air defense systems, as well as Western self-propelled guns: German PzH-2000, American M109, French CAESAR and Polish Krab, and in addition, several combat boats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Dnieper. According to open sources, more than 170 of the 500 targets were destroyed, and more than 260 were seriously damaged on impact. According to the operators of the Lancet UAV, the launchers and command posts of the S-300 air defense systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine became the most atypical target for the drones. Their drone operators destroyed from the maximum distance in the conditions of dense work of electronic warfare.
How did the Lancet prove itself after the start of the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine?
Loitering ammunition operators note that the Lancet has become part of a full-fledged reconnaissance and fire circuit and has occupied a niche between anti-tank missiles, artillery and aviation. With the help of this drone, the troops learned to hit both the columns of the Armed Forces of Ukraine deployed for an attack, and the equipment or positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the depths of defense. The operating time of the older version of the Lancet-3 (Product-51) can exceed 50 minutes, which allows you to choose the right moment to strike.
What targets did the Lancet hit?
Drone operators note that a significant amount of footage of hitting targets is not published for security reasons. The military does not disclose the exact figures for the use of drones, but they say that in reality the hit targets are “several times more than 500.” Indirectly, this indicates that the production of loitering ammunition in Russia has reached the industrial level and the troops have enough of such weapons in reserve. Separately, drone operators note that they have not come up with a full-fledged means of countering Russian loitering ammunition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The closest analogue of the "Lancet" - the American kamikaze drone Switchblade 600 - is practically not used by Ukrainian troops.

Vladislav Ugolny's (@Zola_Of_Renovation) Wednesday (August 2, 2023) Analysis of the Oskol/Zherebets Pocket Battlefront.
So, the bridgehead in the upper reaches of the Zherebets River has stabilized. We have a bridgehead about 3 km deep and 17 km along the front.
The Khokhols were forced to transfer their reserves to stabilize the situation there. This is good—otherwise, these reserves would have been involved in the fighting in the south. Through the efforts of another operational zone, we have restrained significant Khokhol forces, easing their pressure on Rabotino and the Vremeevsky salient.
At the same time, Russian troops became active in another area, east and northeast of Kupyansk. This will again make the Khokhols move, strain and expend their forces.
In the worst-case scenario, we will simply distract the Khokhol forces into fighting in the Oskol sector [instead of the southern front].
In the best-case scenario, if military luck is on our side, one day the Khokhols will have nothing to oppose us in one of these areas and their defences will fall.
The priority target now is still Noveselovskoye, where heavy fighting continues over the ruins of this village.

Ukrainian channel Strana:
The Armed Forces of Ukraine explained what the difficulties are in overcoming the Russian defense in the south.
They were listed by the commander of the Support Forces Dmitry Gerega:
1. The enemy set up a multi-layered system of engineering fences in the occupied territories, consisting of several lanes with a length of 10 to 40 km each, their density is quite high.
2. Obstacles include anti-tank minefields, anti-tank ditches, dragon's teeth concrete pyramids, anti-tank hedgehogs, wire obstacles.
3. The enemy uses mines, including in such a way that they cannot be removed.
To overcome minefields, a significant number of engineering and sapper units are needed, which lack the necessary equipment.
4. Now five engineer-sapper battalions have been formed. Part of their composition - 200 people - was trained abroad. During July-August, about 150 more soldiers will be trained abroad.
5. The Armed Forces of Ukraine received from the West up to 100 units of special equipment to create passages through Russian barriers (engineer tanks, demining installations and charges, tank bridge compilers, etc.). Crews are being trained abroad.

Analysis of the morning situation on the fronts from the Militarist (https://t.me/infantmilitario/104476) @infantmilitario
In the Oskol area, the Russian Armed Forces have initiated strikes on the Zherebets River, as well as on the Kupyansk and Torsk borders. Ukrainian reinforcements moving into the area are facing heavy fire and suffering losses due to a series of relentless attacks on the Russian defenses.
Mutual attacks in Bakhmut are ongoing, with no significant changes.
In Zaporozhye, the Ukrainian army has been launching attacks in the Orekhov-Rabotnoye section with the strength of up to a company since yesterday. However, they were halted by artillery, MLRS, FPV drones, and Lancets.
The AFU launched new attacks in the Ugledar area and managed to advance into no-man's land and the defense line of the Russian Armed Forces. The Russian army is also intensely bombing troops entering the open terrain.
In a new strike in the Avdeevka direction, the Russian Armed Forces seized three lines of fortifications in the northeast of this section.
The operational rear of the Ukrainian army continues to be targeted by air strikes and long-range guided MLRS missiles.
Kiev is also making preparations for new, larger-scale strikes.

CAPTURED NATO M113!
Ukrainian Armed Forces are abandoning their outdated and unreliable Western supplied equipment where it is being taken, restored and kept for posterity by Russian forces. Masha Lelyanova ( t.me/MashaLelyanova ) and I got a tour and ride on this restored example in Donetsk.
