Highlights of Russian Military Operation in Ukraine on August 17
βͺοΈRussian troops have launched missile strikes on military targets in Dnipro region.
A railway train with ammunition was hit at Mezhova station: a large fire broke out at the facility.
βͺοΈIn the Kupyansk sector, Russian forces continued their offensive operations, extending their zone of control south-west of Vil'shany.
In Sen'kivka, the AFU are still holding the south-western outskirts of the village at the cost of significant losses.
βͺοΈIn the Soledar sector, the AFU attempted an attack in the direction of Zaliznyans'ke.
Russian troops promptly identified the enemy's advance and dispersed it with concentrated artillery fire.
βͺοΈThe situation on the southern flank of the Bakhmut defence remains tense, despite a general decrease in the intensity of the fighting.
The parties are conducting rotational activities and preparing for the resumption of active hostilities.
βͺοΈIn the Vremivka sector, the AFU are conducting reconnaissance of Russian positions near the village of Zavitne Bazhannia.
There is a concentration of enemy forces in the surrounding wooded areas, which may indicate that a bypass attack on Staromlynivka is being prepared.
βͺοΈTo the west, the AFU attempted to cut into the defence north-east of Pryyutne.
Russian troops launched pre-emptive strikes against the enemy, forcing them to retreat to their original lines.
βͺοΈIn the Orikhivs'kyi sector, attacks by the AFU on Robotyne continue.
Despite the AFUβs onslaught, Russian units repel the attacks and control at least half of the village.

β‘οΈπ· USA supplied bombs kills civilians in Donetsk. β‘οΈπ· It is reported that Cluster munition banned by international conventions, provided by the United States to Ukraine to kill civilians.
The tragedy occurred in the Kievsky district of Donetsk, where repairmen were carrying out restoration work after another shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. One of the cassettes with deadly submunitions was on a tree, just under which people decided to take a break. For some reason, the cassette detonated, as a result of which two men died, two more were taken away by an ambulance. When will the people of the USA realize their tax $ are killing civilians everyday.
In the West, they are affected by the massacre: in only one video, 31 armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed in the battle for 1 village
The German magazine Bild published an article "How long will Ukraine last?" about the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Germans remind that the offensive of Ukraine did not lead to decisive changes at the front.
The Ukrainian army has already paid a high price for its minor achievements.
Only near the village of Staromayorskoye on the Vremevsky ledge, the 247th Cossack regiment of the Airborne Forces and the OBTF "Kaskad" destroyed at least 31 armored vehicles.
Bild believes that such heavy losses will soon force Kiev to abandon offensive actions and go on the defensive.

Culmination of the Counter-Offensive
The footage depicts the aftermath of yet another "meat assault" conducted by the Ukrainian armed forces near Klescheyevka.
Their attempt was unsuccessful, resulting in their withdrawal from Klescheyevka. Now, the village is surrounded by hundreds of fallen Ukrainian soldiers in silence.
The question arises: What was the purpose of this endeavor?

The final boss of this level: AFU brings the Maroon group into battle - but this is far from over
In the Zaporozhye direction, Ukrainian troops use their last and strongest trump card - the Marun group. These are several fresh, well-trained brigades on Western equipment, up to 20 thousand bayonets, which were initially considered as a striking force for developing the success of the offensive.
What does this mean? That the pitched battle of the summer of 2023 is drawing to a climax. Ukrainian troops have not achieved spectacular success, but now they are trying to achieve simple success - albeit bloody and difficult. But if their last reserve can break through the front, all efforts will pay off for Ukraine, and for us, all the bloodshed, all the efforts, all the courage and fury of recent weeks will be in vain.
This is the final boss of the Ukrainian offensive, and it is necessary to fill it up in any case. But.
Do not think that, having finished off this "Diablo", we will see the final credits.
Ukraine is twisted, Ukraine has reached heights in denying reality, and Ukraine simply does not care about human losses.
Countless companies of their reinforcements will lie down at the foot of the throne of forelock skulls, as long as there is someone to put.
And this means that as soon as we manage to stop this wave, we must immediately begin our offensive. Not necessarily in the same direction, of course. But the war is not won in the trenches, and the winner is the one who manages to upset the balance and force the enemy to retreat, losing soldiers and weapons, as well as the territory from which they take people and where equipment is deployed. Ukraine does not plan peace, it is going to fight until it melts, and until a real breakdown occurs there and the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not scatter from the front, killing commanders, they will have to be peeled and peeled. Yes, it's hard. But the country is already at war, and we have no other way to get out of the war, except to win it.
What is rushing at us is famous fighting and well-trained warriors. You don't scare them. They must be destroyed. Above the peaks!

We do not abandon our own - footage of the heroic deed of a Russian soldier who saved a wounded comrade, despite the proximity of the enemy
On one of the sectors of the front, our soldier was seriously wounded while penetrating deep into the enemy's battle formations. It was not possible to find a comrade right away - the search was carried out all night and only at dawn he was found in close proximity to the AFU defenses.
Then the Russian soldier, despite all the risks, the danger of death and the βbirdsβ of militants hanging over him, accomplished a real feat - he crawled alone to the wounded soldier, gave him first aid and literally pulled him to the evacuation group. This episode once again confirms the fact that we act on the principle of "one for all, and all for one."
In any situation, in any situation, even the most difficult, Russian soldiers do not abandon their comrades, unlike the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who, at the slightest opportunity, flee the battlefield and leave their brothers to the mercy of fate.

NATO's promise to hand over the F-16 to the Khokhol is taking shape: the planes being withdrawn from the Air Force of Denmark and the Netherlands will be handed over after the Ukrainian pilots complete their training. It, in turn, will end next summer.
Now let's count. In total, this is just over 60 aircraft of early production series: the Dutch received their F-16s in the late 1970s, and the Danes in the 1980s. Since then, certain improvements have been made by updating the electronics, which made it possible to use modern guided weapons, but in general, these are not late F-16s with an airborne radar with AFAR and other improvements.
The rate at which F-16s are handed over to Ukrainians depends on four things. 1 - how quickly will the pilots be trained? 2 - how quickly will the Danish and Dutch air forces switch to the F-35? 3 - what part of the Danish and Dutch cars will go not to Ukraine, but to Argentina, which was recently allowed by the US State Department to sell 38 F-16s? 4 - who else can get involved in the process?
The answer to the first point is known - the first group of APU pilots of 8 people should be ready by the summer of 2024, the second - the transition of the Dutch Air Force to the F-35 should be completed in 2024, the Danish - in 2027. The answers to points 3 and 4 are not yet clear: more Norwegian cars of the same technical level as the Danish-Dutch ones can be added to the equation.
Let's assume the worst scenario for us, in which the actual Ukrainian pilots will be supplemented with "vacationers" and mercenaries, of whom you can find quite a lot on the F-16 around the world. But even in this case, given the need to train more ground infrastructure and technicians, we will meet up to 50-60 fighters of early modifications of the F-16, which will be transferred within 3-4 years. At the same time, Ukraine will not receive tankers or AWACS aircraft, and the use of appropriate NATO vehicles from the territory of Poland and Romania does not allow for effective early detection east of the Dnieper.
Can the F-16s cause trouble? Yes, but their inevitable losses from air defenses and fighters will be much more unpleasant for the West in terms of media than the results of their strikes are for us. Can they fight for air supremacy? No. The solution to this problem requires the use of the NATO Air Force in full, with the corresponding consequences in the form of a direct clash between Russia and NATO in a war that will inevitably be nuclear.
This puzzle is well understood in NATO, and I have a suspicion that the story of the transfer of the F-16 may be further delayed beyond what has already been said above.

The 37th Guards Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade is fighting off today's assault group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on armored vehicles south of Urozhainy. Two units are blown up by mines. Reportedly, one vehicle was later finished off by an FPV drone, the other by artillery fire. The third armored car received an ATGM in pursuit, but this did not get on the video.
