Two US bases in Syria were attacked yesterday morning: the Conico Field base in Deir al-Zor and the al-Tanf base in Homs province.
The former was hit by a missile strike and the latter was attacked by three UAVs, two of which were shot down and the third hit its target.
The Iraqi Resistance group (linked to Iran) claimed responsibility for the attack.
As a result of the attack, there are wounded among the US Army personnel.

“I believe that in our current course with regards to the continued – indeed, expanded and expedited – provision of lethal arms to Israel – I have reached the end of that bargain,” he explained his decision.
Washington was repeating the same mistakes that it made for decades, he wrote. The policy is “an impulsive reaction built on confirmation bias, political convenience, intellectual bankruptcy, and bureaucratic inertia.”
The letter cited Paul’s academic experience in the Middle East and official work with Israel and the Palestinian Authority. He said he had “deep personal ties” to both sides of the conflict, and denounced the biased approach, which he claimed obfuscates wrongdoing by the party that the US is partnered with.
Paul condemned the murder of civilians by “terrorists” whether the victims “dance at a rave” or “harvest their olive grove” and the kidnapping of children “whether taken at gunpoint from their kibbutz or taken at gunpoint from their village.”

After the Ukrainian strike on the Russian airfield in Berdyansk, the plans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to reduce the combat potential of the Russian Aerospace Forces aviation group in the Black Sea direction are once again in focus. Without this, any large ground operation by the AFU is destined to fail.
The Americans have transferred 20 ATACMS Block 1 operational-tactical missiles to achieve this goal (and another 100 to 140 missiles are in Poland, ready for delivery to Ukraine). The warhead, filled with M74 cluster cartridges, covers a large area, making it effective for attacks in open areas.
🔻After Berdyansk, the main targets for attack are the bases and airfields in Crimea. All of them are within range of the Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missiles, taking into account the launch areas from the Nikolaev and Odessa regions.
However, the approach time to targets from Dzhankoy to Kirovsky is between 9:30 and 15:00 minutes. This period is sufficient for aircraft to be scrambled into the air on alert. Therefore, Storms are not entirely effective, but this is where ATACMS comes into play.
❗️The destruction radius of Block 1 modification missiles is limited to 165 km. Taking into account that the HIMARS/M270 MLRS launchers fire at a safe distance from the line of contact, the only airfield included in the guaranteed destruction zone is Dzhankoy.
The ATACMS launch site may be located near a traffic intersection. This will make it possible to quickly launch an attack and immediately dismantle the launcher. The approach time to Dzhankoy will be about 2 minutes and 41 seconds (speed ~ Mach 3).
🔻The other day, fresh pictures of the base in Belbek were published on the social network X. Four MiG-31 fighters (carriers of the Daggers) flew there, so the West’s interest is understandable.

🗓 After several days of relative calm, around the fortified area, Russian troops resumed their assault on Ukrainian positions in several areas after artillery preparations.
🔹 On the northern flank, the fighters of the RF Armed Forces as a result of fierce fighting managed to fully occupy the most important stronghold on the terrace. The AFU under cover of tank fire retreated behind the railway track. The positions are now being cleared.
▪️ After the initial push towards #Berdychi, the AFU transferred several battalions of the 31st and 110th Mechanized Brigades to reinforce the lines. This allowed the enemy to push the RF Armed Forces back to the railway. Now there is the line of control.
🔹In the south of #Avdeyevka, the Russian army also conducted an offensive since several days. During the attack with the support of artillery they managed to advance from the #Avdeyevka Ring Road to the railway station "km 450".
❗️Suspicious activity of the AFU is also observed in #Pervomayskoye. Mechanised groups, presumably of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade, are being deployed to the village. Situation in the #Kherson Direction until 20:00 on 19 Oct 2023⚡️
🔹 Early in the morning, assault squads of the Special Forces "South" with the support of two SRGs of the AFU Navy's 35th Separate Marines Brigade forced the river and attacked #Krynki. As a result, the militants managed to gain a foothold in the village and advanced all the way to the road.
▪️ The enemy used a very simple tactic. First, the Territorial Defence were sent into the battle, which outnumbered the Russians, and then more trained special forces and marines developed their success.
▪️ After a while, Russian gunners and army helicopters began to fire on the enemy, and the infantry forced the AFU towards the village. Now the assault squads are still holding several houses in #Krynki, awaiting reinforcements.
🔹 To the West near the railway bridge, the 36th Separate Marines Brigade tried to carry out rotation and evacuation all night. Due to the lack of boats this process was delayed (19 boats from #Kherson, #Sadovoye and #Tyaginka were detected), but the enemy presence near the bridge remains.
▪️ Along the railway crossing the Marines equipped five strongpoints, and the formations of 501st Separate Battalion of the 36th Separate Marines Brigade were transferred to #Alyoshkinsky Island. They are tasked with occupying and clearing #Peschanovka. SRGs under cover of mortars and AGS (automatic grenade thrower) units are actively working near the settlement.
📌 The Motorway from #Alyoshki to Cossack Camps and #Krynki passes through #Peschanovka. If the village is captured, one of the supply routes of the Russian Grouping along the #Dnieper will be cut. In such a scenario, the AFU can gain a foothold on the #Peschanovka - #Krynki line, creating a bridgehead for an offensive on #Alyoshki and Novaya Kakhovka. Apparently, this is exactly what the Ukrainian units are trying to achieve.
