In the Avdeevsky direction, an interesting Ukrainian hybrid was destroyed, which was the hull of a Soviet mobile reconnaissance post PRP-3 with a turret from a BMP-1. The characteristic huge turret shoulder strap, which had to be welded, is clearly visible. In fact, from a special vehicle based on the BMP-1, they made the BMP-1 back.
Previously, Ukrainian BMP-1 with turrets from the BMD-2, as well as the fighting compartment of the Nona-S self-propelled gun on the BMP-2 chassis, were repeatedly illuminated.

The combat power of the Russian kamikaze drone “Cube” has been increased according to the wishes of the military. TASS reports this with reference to the head of the Kalashnikov concern Alan Lushnikov.
According to the head, this year successful tests of the “Cube” with a more powerful warhead, which is currently in production, were carried out.
“As for various modifications, we, of course, are working to increase the range, increase even more power, and provide additional means of navigation,” said the head of the concern.

❗️The Russian Armed Forces are tightening their pincers around Avdeevka
According to “Come and See,” the Russian army successfully continues its assault on the Avdeevsky fortified area in the DPR.
Thus, south of Avdeevka we managed to advance towards the village of Severnoye. Fighting is already taking place on the outskirts of the settlement.
In turn, north of Avdeevka they managed to gain a foothold on the railway. All counterattacks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were repulsed.
Thus, gradually the entire Avdeevsky fortified area is covered from the flanks. The Ukrainian Armed Forces group here faces at least an operational encirclement.
The liberation of Avdeevka is important not only strategically, but also psychologically. It is from there that a significant part of the attacks are carried out on the civilian population and civilian infrastructure of Donetsk.

Combined units of the Russian army continue the assault on the fortifications of the Ukrainian Armed Forces around Avdeevka .
On the northern flank, fighters of the Russian Armed Forces carried out several successful attacks along the railway northwest of Krasnogorovka , as a result of which Russian troops gained a foothold near the railway track.
On the southern flank, Russian troops achieved the greatest successes over the past 24 hours in the Severny direction, where, as a result of a successful assault along the front, they managed to significantly advance both to the Khimik microdistrict and to Severny (1 km remained to the village).

Avdeevka report from an Ukrainian source

No one is left: wounded militants are being urgently discharged from Lutsk
According to information from open sources, on October 29, Russian aviation conducted (https://t.me/ukrainian_guide/9271) massive air and rocket artillery strikes on the positions of the 14th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the vicinity of the settlements of Sinkovka and Petropavlovsk, resulting in heavy casualties within the unit. Major Nikolai Senkevich, the commander of the 2nd battalion, was among those killed (https://t.me/ukrainian_guide/9289).
The losses were so significant that the brigade's commander, Lieutenant Colonel Alexei Trubnikov, requested reinforcements (https://t.me/dillfrash/27641) from the Kupyansk group's command but received a negative response: all available troops are engaged at the front.
Having considerable connections within the Volyn regional administration, Trubnikov appealed to the authorities to expedite the discharge of wounded militants from the rehabilitation center for combatants, as well as from the Lutsk military hospital.
After consultation, the administration reached the following decision: official representatives of the administration and brigade officers were dispatched to these medical facilities to identify militants with minor and moderate injuries for their discharge and subsequent redeployment to the front.
As we learned from a conversation with a nurse at the Lutsk hospital, more than 25 fighters frome that brigade were discharged in this manner, as they would simply be unable to handle a machine gun due to their injuries.
Evidently, the situation is so dire within the 14th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that Brigade Commander Trubnikov is compelled to urgently discharge his fighters from hospitals in an attempt to shore up the "gaps" in his defense.

Blue Beard Z:
Review of Avdeevka.
At the moment, in the Avdeevka area, our command is conducting a tactical regrouping of forces and assets in units and formations operating in the directions of the main attacks. In the near future, our forces will resume massive attacks and assault operations in several directions and areas.
It is also obvious that the fate of Avdeevka will be decided on its northern flank.
The main task is to break through to the area of the coke plant, as well as in the direction of the villages of Stepnoye and Berdychi.
However, in the event of a relatively quick capture of coke, the need for a breakthrough to Berdychi and Stepnoye will simply disappear.
In this case, the task of reaching the Orlovka area, i.e. in fact, to the rear of the entire Avdeevsky region of the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it will be possible to carry out along the shortest route, using fewer forces than would be the case in the case of a breakthrough bypassing through Stepnoye and Berdychi.
But here there is a risk of facing a serious problem of strengthening the Avdeevsky coke plant.
In this sense, the Mariupol conditions for the assault on Azovstal and the Ilyich Plant cannot even be compared with those in Avdeevka: there the Armed Forces of Ukraine were practically isolated, and our units attacked almost continuously and had the opportunity to choose directions and areas for their attacks.
In this configuration, we can only break through to the coke plant in one direction, from the waste heap. You will also have to take into account the air defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces operating in this area and their counter-battery capabilities.
The very idea of entering the main rear of the enemy along the Orlovka - Lastochkino line is extremely attractive. However, it's not easy. It's extremely difficult.
Our command understands this. And it was precisely for this task that the prepared reserves, which were mentioned earlier, were pulled together.
Also, a prerequisite for the assault will be the imposition of fighting on the enemy in residential areas. It was precisely this tactic that our troops used in the operation to transform Bakhmut into Artemovsk. But let's not run ahead of the locomotive. Urban battles are still far away; the main operational tasks have not yet been resolved.

How is Russia pushing Ukraine out of its counteroink “conquests” on the Zaporozhye/South Donetsk front, and doing it without major effort or significant offensive operations (well, other than the artillery preparation and air strikes)?
The reason is straightforward: Ukraine is pulling whatever reserves it can scrounge up and sending them to slow (not even stop) the bleeding at Avdeevka. These reserves, in turn find their timely grave on the Donetsk frontier.
The latest regarding the Avdeevka encirclement (from Divanny Genshtab):
On the northern flank of Avdeevka, the Russian army advanced towards the settlement of Novokalinovo and the town-type-settlement of Keramik. It also crossed the railroad line near Stepovoye, repelling counterattacks by the 47th brigade of the AFU.
This is not the only Ukrainian forces’ wound that’s bleeding arterial blood:
North of Artyomovsk, the Russian Armed Forces established full control over the Berkhovsky reservoir.
As you may recall, the petering out, the collapse, and the beginning of the reversal of the Ukrainian counteroink roughly coincided with the Russian Army’s offensive near Kupyansk and the along the Zherebets frontier, in the Oskol-Zherebets pocket. That was the first time since the start of the counteroink Ukrainians had had to scuffle reserves elsewhere, other than Zaporozhye/South Donetsk.
The situation has gotten obviously worse for Kiev. Apart from the Kupyansk front and the Oskol-Zherebets pocket, the Russian Army is pushing in at least four other theatres of the conflict:
1) the Krasny Liman direction (Map 1);
2) the Avdeevka encirclement operation (Map 2);
3) the Ugledar offensive (from the north and the south, this time); and,
4) the Artyomovsk-Chasov Yar pocket.
Without making any statements (for now) as to which of these is/are the primary operation(s), and which are secondary, designed to draw out Ukrainian reserves, it can be said that Ukraine is in for a very rough time. There is little gas left in their tank(s).
More later. /GB

Ukrainian territorial defense is in a deplorable state - Handelsblatt
The German edition of Handelsblatt published an article (https://www.handelsblatt.com/politik/international/stellungskrieg-mit-russland-patriotisch-aber-unerfahren-wie-die-freiwilligen-kaempfer-der-ukraine-zerrieben-werden/29464896.html) about the plight of the Ukrainian territorial defense. Most of the TRD units were formed immediately after the start of the conflict and were staffed mainly by mobilized. Regular AFU brigades suffered heavy losses, so the Territorial Defence units, consisting of untrained soldiers, were forced to plug holes at the front. As a result, many fighters were killed and a significant part of the equipment was destroyed.
The author of the article notes that the TRD problems have not been solved. The brigades lack equipment, weapons and intelligence assets. As a rule, their supply is on a residual basis. Not everything is so simple, and there are practically no volunteer brigades left in Ukraine, the mobilization resource is gradually being exhausted and the authorities are forced to increasingly increase the number of categories of citizens subject to military service.

Zelensky's downfall
Hitler killed himself in 1945, though it was obvious to anyone and everyone who could have honestly advised him that if the war had not already been lost in 1942, it was clearly lost by 1943.
Yet he clung on for two or two and a half more years rather than surrender when beaten. The only practical outcome of this was dragging hundreds of thousands to millions of German and Slavic lives down with him.
As the war approached the end, this dragnet grew to encompass Western Europeans and of course, Jews from anywhere in nazi occupied territories. By the final days, he was maneuvering units which did not exist and fabricating ones he needed onto the map, right up until he threw civilians into the front and justified it simply as, "If they die, they weren't worth living."
Well, here we are again. A year and a half after Zelensky had already lost this war he clings on. Ukrainian civilians are being thrown into the front, marginally “trained men” aged an average of 40+, and Zelensky is now ordering units personally which do not exist
The psychology both men possess is that of a gamblers. Hitler believed in the magical powers of the “superior race”, Zelensky likewise believes in the magical powers of Western armament.
Denial to the end, consequence of countless lost. Gambling addicts will always reach into coffers they cannot afford to lose, but will happily spend them in the moment.

The F-16s
Conceivably, and in an ideal world (which Zelensky indubitably imagines as the Groundhog Day of the last chapter of Scarface), the F-16s being delivered to Ukraine could serve any of the following four purposes:
1) as dogfighters against the Russian Air Force;
2) as platforms for long-range air-to-air missiles to hunt the Russian aircraft, particularly the airborne radar planes, like the A-50;
3) as launch platforms for the delivery of air-to-surface cruise missiles; and,
4) as JDAM delivery vehicles.
Let’s dismiss the first option right off the bat: The Ukrainian military pilot population has been decimated, and neither the fresh recruits being trained to operate the F-16s, nor the F-16s themselves (in whichever variations being delivered) are any match for the seasoned Russian pilots and their superior craft.
Even if they were, the paltry number of Western planes being supplied to Ukraine is a fart in the wind. Yes, war is a fickle mistress, far worse than fate, and there may be setbacks and (un)lucky hits, but, even if there were, they would have no effect on the overall direction of this conflict. I’ve made this point before in relation to HIMARS—and it is even more critical here—to have any impact, the F-16s would have to be supplied to Ukraine in the hundreds, with one critical difference: They would have to be piloted by Western (US) pilots. Piloted by Ukrainians, they will largely be reduced to cannon-fodder.
The likelihood of successful upsets for the second option is somewhat higher, but still runs against the same impediment: the paltry numbers of the Ukrainian “air force” deployment contrasted against the Russian air dominance. The likelihood of the F-16s being shot down by the Russian Air Force and air defence systems as they gain altitude to target an A-50 or any of the Russian planes carrying out frontline air strikes is very high.
The third option is largely what the remnants of the Ukrainian “air force” have been engaged in during this conflict. This is what the F-16s are being sent to do. The Ukrainian plane stock has been so severely decimated in the past month or two that NATO has had to step up deliveries of the planes. There are simply very few airborne platforms left for Ukrainians to utilize in their favourite sport—senseless terrorism against civilians, punctuated by the rare (and largely ineffectual) targeting of military objectives. The F-16s may last somewhat longer in this role, but, once again, the size of the fleet makes these deliveries an ineffectual off-brand bandaid.
Finally, as JDAM-delivery platforms, the F-16s are fully capable. The only problem is that to launch any of the JDAM variants, the Ukrainian pilots would have to gain kilometres of altitude above their usual hiding place—hugging the ground, in hopes of avoiding detection. This is where they would be caught by the Russian Air Force, the air defences, any of the many radar systems monitoring the Ukrainian airspace, with predictable results.
A bloodsucking leech can latch on to you and feast on a bit of blood, if you are not careful, but the precautions are generally straightforward. I have every reason to believe that the F-16s’ introduction to the conflict will be even less consequential than any of the other wunderwaffe that the West has sent Ukraine’s way over the past year and eight months.

The IDF boasted of a 'heroic' night operation using tanks in Gaza
The press service of the Israeli army reported that the "Golani" tank brigade engaged in a clash with Hamas militants last night. The militants attempted to destroy Israeli equipment using anti-tank missiles and explosives. However, the soldiers reportedly defeated the militants decisively.
This may have been the IDF's response to a video previously published by Hamas guerrillas showing the destruction (https://t.me/OstashkoNews/103910) of a Merkava tank. However, while the militants presented what appears to be authentic combat footage, the Israeli army's response was limited to elaborate interviews with soldiers and an evidently staged video from inside a tank.

Closure for Russia - closure for everyone: The Foreign Ministry has warned NATO about the consequences of closing the Baltic Sea
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko stated that NATO's desire to make the Baltic Sea an 'internal sea of NATO' is entirely baseless.
"I believe that those who make decisions, including NATO military strategists, are fully aware that closing the Baltic Sea for Russia would effectively close it for everyone. <...> These desires and dreams are entirely groundless, and anyone attempting to turn these aspirations into practical actions should recognize the potential negative consequences they may bring," Grushko stated.
Previously, the Latvian president threatened (https://t.me/OstashkoNews/101660) to discuss with NATO the closure of the passage through the Baltic Sea for Russian ships if Russia's involvement in the damage to the Balticconnector gas pipeline was confirmed.
Considering Europe's ability to 'investigate,' as demonstrated in the case of the 'Nord Stream,' it can be anticipated that it won't progress beyond the initial 'suspects,' to avoid exposing themselves.

🇺🇸🇺🇦 Zaluzhny’s assessment of the war with Russia has inflamed party passions in the United States, - Politico
▪️Representatives of the Republican Party believe that the comments of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are a reason to rethink American support for Kyiv.
▪️Thus, Senator Josh Hawley, who is skeptical about increasing aid to Kyiv, said that Zaluzhny’s frankness has made a big hole in the administration’s policy towards Ukraine.
💬"Their idea is that we need to continue to fund Ukraine in all aspects, not just militarily, we need to provide money for their pensions and everything else so that the situation remains stalemate. This naturally raises the question: what is the exactly our strategy to end the game? What is the plan here? I don’t think they have a plan,” the senator concluded.
▪️Senator J.D. Vance openly called for an end to military aid to Kyiv and said that Zaluzhny’s statements expose deep divisions within the Ukrainian leadership.
💬“Zelensky’s military goals do not correspond to reality, and some of his inner circle are resisting. It was always going to end with Russia controlling part of Ukrainian territory and a negotiated settlement. I've been saying that for a year. It was obvious to anyone who paid attention to the realities on the ground,” Vance said.
Vance and Hawley's arguments remain a minority view in the Senate, where a majority of senators from both parties still say they want to continue helping Ukraine end its impasse. But the protests are finding wider resonance, especially as the nation's attention turns to aid to Israel in his war against Hamas.

Battles at the junction of the Zaporozhye region and the DPR: our troops continue to gradually move forward
➖Units of the Vostok group are gradually recapturing the territories that the enemy occupied in the summer.
➖Ukrainian military bloggers reported that northeast of Priyutnoye, Russian troops launched an attack along the Grushevaya beam in the direction of Staromayorsky .
➖ In this area, Ukrainian troops are on the defensive. After the enemy managed to cut off the Vremevsky ledge, it stalled along the Priyutnoye-Staromayorskoye-Urozhainoye-Novodonetskoye line. He failed to take the first and last village. Later, with increasing failures during the offensive on Tokmak, the pressure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this direction weakened significantly and eventually ceased. Now our troops are carrying out counterattacks.
💬The Vostok battalion, operating in that sector of the front in previous days, reported :
➖Almost the entire section of the front began to move. We carried out a number of successful actions and in some places even made progress.
➖The neighbors distinguished themselves: two captured guards and twelve prisoners. Yes, not the Brusilov breakthrough, but after a period of enemy dominance, it is gratifying to realize that we are gradually achieving an advantage.

And you can't blame it on a drop in household consumption, it's a drop in industry.

Rybar:
❗️🇮🇱🇱🇧🇵🇸 Speech by Hassan Nasrallah: the most important and words between the lines
Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah gave a “historic speech” after the group’s ultimatum to the Israelis expired. The speech is long, expressive and colorful in Arabic. But the result, alas, is natural.
▪️By reducing everything to the fact that the Palestinians are heroes and the resistance is great, Nasrallah whitewashed the role of the “Islamic resistance” factions.
▪️The emphasis on Iran was also prudently removed: the October 7 operation was planned and carried out 100% by Palestinians , as the Hezbollah leader said. The Lebanese, accordingly, have nothing to do with it.
▪️The Palestinians exposed the problem, made the whole world talk about it, and “stupid Prime Minister Netanyahu” showed the true face of Israel.
▪️Israel is weak, like a torn web, and what started on October 7 can no longer be undone. The Israel Defense Forces are unable to seize the initiative; they cannot do anything without US support. Israel is weaker than ever, with politicians from all over the world traveling there to offer moral support while Israelis beg for money and help.
▪️What happened on October 7 is a historic new phase for the entire region. All the victims were justified, the Palestinians were prepared for slaughter, they decided to resist. History is cyclical, and Israel has not learned the lessons of 2006. The goals set by the Israeli leadership are too ambitious, and the country’s leadership will not meet them.
▪️The Israelis already said that they defeated Hezbollah in 2006, now they say the same about Hamas, destroying everything - hospitals, houses, schools, mosques.
▪️The USA is the same shaitan that turns a blind eye to the humanitarian catastrophe that Israel is creating, killing women and children. The Islamic Resistance in Iraq took the initiative by attacking US bases in Syria and Iraq.
▪️In the coming days there will be more actions from resistance factions against Israel from several sides. The entire world is now facing a war of honor and righteousness against the barbarity and cruelty of Israel, the US and Great Britain.
▪️It is necessary to set the goal of ending the war against Gaza with its victory - this is in the interests of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt. At the very least, other Islamic countries could make an effort and try to achieve a ceasefire.
▪️Although Hezbollah was expected to join the war today, the group actually entered the conflict back on October 8th. Of course, this will not be limited to this, but what is happening is already unprecedented (Hezbollah, for a moment, is waging a real war, but only the “involved persons” can feel it).
▪️Hezbollah's intervention forced the IDF to stretch its forces and prevented the fall of Gaza. Up to a third of the IDF is now drawn to the northern border.
🔻Nasrallah achieved several goals with this speech: he fulfilled the plan for a historical statement, provoked some factions in the region to look down on the Israelis, showed how strong the spirit of the Palestinians is, stated that they need to work hard, and also took their eyes off Iran. Well, he cleverly stated that the Lebanese have already started the war, but they have their own special path , about which they will tell what they deem necessary.
Probably, some moderate-to-strong escalation will still occur (otherwise, why would words about Israel’s weakness be an incentive to action?). But since the speech, to put it mildly, was vague , one should not expect the start of a full-fledged Hezbollah operation right now. As we said, there will be more shelling, even separate raids are possible. But the deployment of troops is unlikely to happen.
Whether after such a de-escalation there will be any steps from the Israeli ultra-Orthodox elite (because after all, the Lebanese have toned down the rhetoric) is a question with an asterisk, to which there is no answer yet.

The main thing from Putin’s statements at a meeting with members of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation:
▫️Putin congratulated Russians on the upcoming National Unity Day;
▫️Russia still protects its history, values, culture, language, including in Donbass and Novorossiya;
▫️There was no Ukraine as part of the Russian Empire;
▫️Huge Ukraine was formed only under Soviet rule, including at the expense of southern Russian lands;
▫️Putin called the declaration of Russians a non-indigenous nation in Ukraine “complete lawlessness”;
▫️Ukraine exterminated Russians in Donbass to the applause of the West;
▫️Russia could not help but stand up for the people, first in Crimea, and then in Donbass and Novorossiya;
▫️There would be no decisions on Crimea in 2014 if it weren’t for the coup in Kyiv and Russian people would have been treated normally there;
▫️“New regions” are not new for Russia, they are “our historical territories”;
▫️Ukraine sells weapons to the Middle East, including the Taliban (the Taliban movement is banned in the Russian Federation);
▫️There is nowhere in the world such corruption as in Ukraine;
▫️The United States planned to change the elites in Ukraine to fight corruption, but they will not succeed;
▫️Western sanctions against some members of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation are an assessment of their work;
▫️The stronger Russia becomes, the less desire there will be to exclude it from some organizations;
▫️Europe has abandoned energy resources from Russia, and now its economy is going into negative territory;
▫️The West used to intend to “defeat Russia on the battlefield,” but now it has spoken differently;
▫️Russia ceases to be a “gas station”;
▫️The Russian economy works rhythmically, the authorities do not abandon social and other plans;
▫️Putin stated that the Russian Federation’s GDP to grow by up to 3% at the end of the year, while in the EU it would fall.
