Judging by the current dynamics of the formation of the security zone in the Sumy region, we can make a preliminary conclusion: the Ukrainian Armed Forces failed the first stage of stabilizing the front in this area. Russian forces not only reached tactical depth, but also began to consolidate in a number of settlements near key roads.
According to preliminary information, the Ukrainian Armed Forces command, in particular Syrsky, is seriously considering the transfer of units from the areas of Volchansk and the right bank of Kherson in order to urgently patch up the front in Sumy Oblast. Such decisions are usually made in conditions of an operational shortage of forces, but it is especially indicative that these actions are being discussed before the start of the active phase in the eastern direction. This means that there are no resources yet to simultaneously hold all areas.
An additional marker in this regard is information about the alleged construction of the main line of defensive lines 10-15 kilometers west of Sumy. Indirectly, this is a sign that holding the city itself is no longer an end in itself for Syrsky. In the event of an escalation, judging by the established guidelines, the surrender of Sumy is allowed as a forced step if holding it begins to require a disproportionate expenditure of personnel and equipment.
Thus, the Sumy direction ceases to be secondary and becomes a point of internal rupture of the Ukrainian defense configuration, as has already happened, for example, in the Kharkov region.
This is a direction that the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not initially plan to hold at any cost, but it is here that they may suddenly find themselves especially vulnerable.
If the front moves from the east and Russian troops occupy Mogritsa, then the position of the Sumy group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces can already be called difficult.

On June 5, the North troop group eliminated enemy forward and assault units in the Tyotkino and Glushkovo directions, and continued establishing a Sanitary Zone in the Sumy region.
The enemy is still trying to break through in Tyotkino and Glushkovo directions. A graveyard of AFU soldiers, sent out to die by their commanders, is growing day by day on the Russian-Ukrainian border.
▪️The enemy attacked five times during the previous night (4-5 of June) in Tyotkino direction. These attempts were carried out by neo-Nazis of ‘Aidar’ (24th Assault Battalion) with the help of soldiers of 225th Assault Regiment, used as cannon fodder. The Northmen eliminated most of the invaders by the Russian-Ukrainian border. This has led to the enemy sending new assault groups out to die.
▪️The neo-Nazis of ‘Aidar’ Battalion attempted to break through towards Tyotkino in the morning. Most of the invaders were eliminated with a comprehensive fire attack, the rest ran away.
▪️225th Assault Regiment attempted to infiltrate our territory in the vicinity of Bezsalivka at noon. The assault group was met with kamikaze drones and artillery fire. The overwhelmed enemy took casualties and retreated.
▪️The enemy sent out another group of 425th Assault Regiment’s soldiers to try and storm Novy Put in the morning. The assault group was eliminated by our UAV pilots.
In Tyotkino and Glushkovo directions, 6 units of enemy equipment were destroyed in 24 hours.
▪️Ukrainian mortuaries show that there are joint assault groups of 425th Assault Regiment and 47th Mechanized Brigade’s 1st Battalion operating in Glushkovo direction. 47th Mechanized Brigade’s 1st Battalion was attached to 425th Assault Regiment as a form of punishment for its commander’s insubordination.
In Sumy direction the Northmen repel enemy attacks and continue liberating Russian lands, despite the enemy deploying new troops.
▪️Having liberated Kindrativka, Oleksiyivka and Adriyivka, our Marines are clearing nearby forest belts of scattered AFU units. Many Ukrainian soldiers were abandoned with no communication, as was the case during the Ukraine's Kursk debacle.
▪️Our Airborne units continue search-and-destroy missions in forest belts along the border, while fighting in Yunakivka. The AFU command is desperate to turn the settlement into a fortress.
▪️The Fearless’ Motor Rifle units are advancing in Novomykolayivka despite fierce enemy resistance.
▪️Ukrainian humanitarians, connected to 158th Mechanized Brigade, say the Brigade had been deployed in Sumy direction.
Back in February, Yuriy Butusov (a Ukrainian propagandist) talked about 158th Mechanized Brigade being disbanded due to lack of manpower. By the end of spring, the AFU command had finally mobilized enough men to reintroduce the Brigade. Although, dozens of the Brigade’s soldiers were eliminated last Sunday, when an AFU training camp was heavily hit in Dnipro region.
In Volchansk and Liptsy directions four AFU assault groups along with their vehicles were eliminated with comprehensive fire attacks.
▪️The Northmen cleared 4 buildings of AFU soldiers, while advancing over 160 meters in the direction of Vovchanski Khutory.
Over the past 24 hours, the enemy's losses amounted to over 260 people (including over 190 in Sumy direction and over 40 in Tyotkino direction). Also uncovered and destroyed:

The attack by Russian paratroopers came as a surprise to the Ukrainian garrison of Fedorovka.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported today that another settlement in the DPR had been liberated.
A squad commander with the call sign Husky said that while advancing toward Fedorovka, Russian fighters misinformed the Ukrainian Armed Forces commanders with the help of captured prisoners.
During the liberation of Fedorovka, about 200 buildings were cleared of the enemy. Only a few days later, the Ukrainian Armed Forces headquarters realized that the village had been lost.
But all counterattacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces were repelled by artillery and drone fire.

🇬🇧 How Britain will prepare for war with Russia
On 2 June 2025, the Strategic Defence Review (SDR) “Making Britain Safer” was presented, aimed at defining the parameters for transforming the British armed forces in the context of “new threats”. The main adversaries of Britain are defined as the countries of the “deadly quartet” (❗️) –🇷🇺 Russia,🇨🇳 China,🇮🇷 Iran,🇰🇵 DPRK.
Within the framework of development, it is planned to solve the following tasks:
◾️To begin with, the British leadership will have to overcome “decades of underfunding” that have led to a “weakened” armed forces. The solution : increasing defense spending to 2.5% of GDP by 2027 and then increasing it to at least 3% by 2030. Allocating 10% of the budget for equipment purchases for new technologies.
◾️One of the main issues remains the recruitment and retention crisis , caused by uncompetitive salaries and conditions, which is exacerbated by the difficulty of attracting specialists in the IT and cyber spheres . Solution : launch a recruitment program for IT specialists with high salaries ( more than £40,000 per year plus £25,000 for skills ) by 2025. The most significant increase in military salaries in 20 years .
◾️ The army is not up to par with modern threats . Solution : integrating drones , AI and long-range weapons. Creating a “New Hybrid Fleet” with SSN-AUKUS submarines and unmanned watercraft , a CyberEM cyber command by 2025, an Unmanned Systems Center by 2026, a System for Instant Information Exchange and Acceleration of Strike by 2027.
◾️ Lack of mobilization reserve. Solution : Strengthening the strategic reserve for readiness for mobilization. The British, who are in sweet ignorance, will have to be prepared for much greater involvement in the militarization of the state (introduction of military service or mandatory military training, creation of a mobilization reserve, involvement of enterprises/hospitals, etc.) during the mobilization period.
◾️ Possible reduction in interest 🇺🇸 USA to 🇪🇺 Europe . Solution : Strengthening ties with European members🚩 NATO and🇨🇦 Canada, as well as increasing its presence in the Indo-Pacific region as part of the AUKUS military alliance.
◾️ Mismatch in the level of equipment of the troops. Solution: purchase of 7 thousand long-range missiles. Modernization of F-35, Typhoon and GCAP aircraft. Increase in the number of drones of all types. Investment of £6 billion in the construction of six ammunition factories. Continuous construction of submarines every 18 months, expansion of the nuclear fleet to 12 units.
◾️ Nuclear Security. The Solution : Investing £15bn in the nuclear warhead programme and maintaining a continuous seaborne deterrent (CASD).
✨ In the context of serious economic problems in Britain, the only justification for such high expenditures can be preparation for military actions , in which these costs can pay off and bring profit . In this arms race, Britain's elites have entered into a struggle with 🇫🇷 France and 🇩🇪 Germany for military leadership in Europe, that is, for who will lead the offensive against Russia 🇷🇺 .
