Russian Defense Ministry on progress of special military operation as of 28 December 2025

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.

📍 The units of the Sever Group of Forces improved the tactical situation and defeated one assault regiment of the AFU near Kondratovka (Sum region).

💥 In Kharkov direction, units of two heavy mechanised brigades, two mechanised brigades of the AFU, and one national guard brigade have been hit near Vesyoloye, Izbitskoye, Staritsa, and Stognii (Kharkov region).

▪️ The AFU lost up to 140 troops and 12 motor vehicles.

🔥 The Zapad Group’s units inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of five mechanised brigades, one assault brigade of the AFU, two national guard brigades, and one territorial defence brigade close to Kupyansk-Uzlovoy, Kurilovka, Boldyrevka, Blagodatovka, Pristen, and Korovy Yar (Kharkov region).
