The IDF decided to keep the mothballed Merkava III tanks, which they previously planned to sell to Morocco and Cyprus, including to replace tanks destined for Ukraine.

These tanks will be used to form the reserve battalion "Of Hol" ("Phoenix").

The decisions were made against the backdrop of equipment losses in battles against Hamas militants.
