War Reports - 2023-12-07
Military expert Alexander Zimovsky: The Pentagon, rejecting accusations of poor preparation for the Ukrainian offensive, was forced to publish some volumes of military supplies for the Eastern Front.
It turned out that the Ukrainian Armed Forces received an abundance of means for clearing mines and providing passages in minefields of any depth/density:
- more than fifty heavy mine trawls with increased explosion resistance;
- several dozen M58 Mine Clearing Line Charge remote detonation devices with triple ammunition for each;
- more than 1000 extended charges of the “Bangalore torpedo” class. A publication in the Washington Post claims, with reference to the same General Milley, that the VFU requested 400 tanks for the offensive. Milley ordered a shake-up with NATO and send 700 tanks to Ukraine, which entered service by April 2023.
The VFU requested 1000 infantry fighting vehicles/armored personnel carriers.
Milli ordered the sending of 1,500 infantry fighting vehicles/armored personnel carriers to Ukraine, which also arrived in front-line units and formations of the Ukrainian Air Force shock corps by May 2023.

Tank battle in Stepovoye near Avdeevka: the enemy shows the sturdiness of our tanks
A Russian tank (our comrades) fires at the enemy and leaves under the cover of smoke: it is hit by a shell and an FPV drone. But the Russian tank returns to its position with a living crew (the turret is not jammed). The enemies are upset, and we will rejoice. Domestic armored vehicles again showed survivability, saving their crew.

Readovka:
There will be help, but later: the breakdown of negotiations between Democrats and Republicans leaves Kyiv without large supplies until at least February
Republicans are determined to block any projects to provide funding to Ukraine until Democrats agree to a significant tightening of immigration laws. Recent negotiations on a new “border agreement” have stalled with neither side willing to compromise. The thing is that the issue has long become political in nature, and with the upcoming elections no one wants to make concessions.
Considering that the latest “additional aid” to Ukraine looks completely ridiculous, and 97% of the allocated funds have already been spent, the prognosis for Ukraine for the winter is extremely unfavorable. Now the United States has about $1.8 billion of already allocated funds - it looks impressive, but in reality, against the background of the resources already spent, it is crumbs.
Inter-factional negotiations have reached a dead end and are awaiting a restart. And there is not much time before the start of the Christmas holidays - less than three weeks.
The nearest “budget” deadline by which the Americans must agree on the allocation of funds to Ukraine is January 19, but it is not at all a fact that the parties will have time to come to some kind of agreement. In any case, even if Kyiv is allocated funding at the end of January, it will still take considerable time to prepare for transportation and for the transportation itself - no one will “prepare” in advance.
All this means that, in the best case scenario, significant new shipments of weapons and ammunition will end up in Ukraine in February.
The Russian Armed Forces have more than two months until the enemy experiences an even greater shortage of equipment and ammunition. This window of opportunity must be taken advantage of, and, as the examples of Marinka, the flanks in the Bakhmut direction and Avdeevka show, the Russian army does not ignore this opportunity.

‼️🇺🇸🇺🇦 “ There is a big risk” that Ukraine will lose in the conflict, - head of Zelensky’s office.
▪️“If the aid being discussed in Congress is simply delayed, there is a great risk that we will remain in the same positions as we are now. It will become impossible to advance, and there is a big risk of losing this war , ” Andrei Ermak said in a panicked speech at the Institute of Peace in Washington.
▪️According to him, the amount of forces that Russia has concentrated creates difficulties for Kyiv. Ermak also admitted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are already conducting defensive operations.
Zin Note: Hot take-Ukraine was going to lose, even with the aid. It didn't do much good in June... All of this just makes it happen faster. Now, if they could come to their senses, and give up, a lot of lives could be spared.

The sad thing is, none of this (the Republicans resisting funding for Ukraine) is happening because of any real sensibility on their part, but due to the grotesque nature that is typical of American democracy.
No, there has been no great awakening. Nobody is listening to reason. Nobody has evolved to a higher level of thinking. It's just politics.
The Republicans simply succumbed to their sense of "what's in it for us?" They quickly became bored of the Ukraine show and turned their attention to the topic that is always on their minds, Israel. Additionally, they had to prove that they were achieving some sort of victory against Biden and show him to be a failure.
Believe me, I've tried arguing with some people on the merits of the Russian point of view. I've hammered the hypocrisy of the West. I've demonstrated that the conflict in Ukraine, as in many places, is the fault of the United State's geopolitical chess moves. And none of that got me any further. However, sheer hatred of Biden, greed, and incompetence accomplished far more than logic and reason ever could.
Whether we sleepwalk our way into World War 3, or manage to avoid it, it will be the result of human frailty and American short-sightedness.
Their baffling foolishness is the only thing that can be relied upon.

AFU are trying to regain lost positions in the Krasnolimansk direction, but are failing
➖After the troops of the “🅾️tvazhnye” group advanced in the Kremensky forest and occupied forest belts in the Torsky area, the Ukrainian command does not stop trying to counterattack.
➖So, in the area of the Torsky ledge, a platoon of the 60th mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces tried to attack without equipment, but received strong resistance from motorized riflemen, was battered by artillery and retreated.
➖In Serebryansky forestry there are fierce battles for the positions we recently captured. The enemy, represented by the 12th Special Forces "Azov" and the 67th Mechanized Brigade, launched attacks several times, but each time they were met with heavy fire by our Ural infantry and were buried under the ground by our artillerymen.

This is proven by Vladimir Putin’s visit to Saudi Arabia, writes Bloomberg.
“At the same time, the Russian economy remains extremely stable, and the fighting in Ukraine has reached a dead end for Kiev,” experts note.

"In 2014, we helped overthrow their elected government. We rattled our sabers against Russia," Massey said.
He emphasized that sanctions and saber-rattling would inevitably have consequences. That's what happened in the end.

The “secret briefing” initiated by the Democrats for senators, at which it was planned to convince legislators of the importance of quickly agreeing on new aid for Kiev, failed: the Republicans did not even want to listen.
“Republicans simply walked out of the briefing because the people there were not willing to discuss what it would take to get a deal done. There was no reason to sit and listen to people talk about the importance of helping Israel and Ukraine. We know that and we agree with that,” said Republican Senator Mitt Romney.🤡
The stumbling block remains the administration's reluctance to include funds for US border security in its request for funds for Kiev and Israel.
According to ABC News, Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said he would advocate for Republican senators to vote against more aid to Ukraine and Israel "to emphasize, hopefully for the last time, that we are pushing for meaningful change." on the border".
Earlier, People's Deputy Alexandra Ustinova, who is part of the Ukrainian delegation to the States, said that tomorrow the US Senate would fail the vote for the aid package to Ukraine.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that Germany is not an ally of Ukraine .
Despite the military and financial support of Kiev, the German authorities, as it turned out, do not see Ukraine as an ally and believe that they are not obligated to intervene in the conflict within the framework of any alliance.
In an interview with ZDF, Boris Pistorius lost his temper in response to accusations of insufficient military assistance to Ukraine.
💬 "We are delivering what we can. We have a problem now: it is well known that the defense industry cannot deliver in certain areas as quickly as necessary. It is a matter of tempo, you cannot influence the tempo indefinitely. We are talking about deadlines that can be accelerated, but cannot be completely cancelled,” the minister said.
The German Defense Minister noted that it is difficult to predict the further course of the Ukrainian conflict.

The United States will be responsible for the defeat of Ukraine if Congress does not approve the allocation of additional aid to Kiev - Treasury Secretary Yellen
Yellen told reporters during a trip to Mexico City that funding - specifically support for Ukraine's general government budget - is "absolutely essential" and a prerequisite for keeping International Monetary Fund aid flowing to Ukraine.
I talked to members of Congress, and so did my colleagues. I think they understand that this is a difficult situation and we can hold ourselves accountable for Ukraine's defeat if we fail to provide Kiev with the funding it needs, and I'm including direct budget support here because it's critically important,” Yellen said.
-We already are responsible for their defeat by making them ignore the peace agreement old lady 🤷♂️

Boris "Colonel Cassad" Rozhin:
The enemy continues to transfer additional forces to the Avdeevsky direction, removing them from the Orekhovsky sector of the front. In the near future, another brigade will leave entirely for Donbass. Fortification work is underway in the Orekhov area.
Coupled with the ongoing attacks of the Russian Armed Forces on the flanks of the Rabotino ledge, our troops have good prospects for gradually cutting it off, as well as restoring control over Rabotino. The enemy's current attacks in the area of Novoprokopovka and Kopan are of a purely tactical nature - the enemy no longer sets operational goals to break through to Tokmak.

Ukrainian channel Strana:
Yesterday's secret briefing on Ukraine in the US Senate took place in an extremely tense and conflictual environment, The Hill reports.
At some point, the Republicans were already shouting questions from the floor to Secretary of State Blinken, Pentagon chief Austin and Chief of Staff Brown, who came to convince them to allocate money for Kyiv.
The dispute concerned the same thing - the Republicans demanded to strengthen the border with Mexico.
"I asked General Brown for the best military advice. Is support for Ukraine and Israel so important that Democrats might at least consider reluctantly supporting some southern border security? But he only wanted to talk about Ukraine," Senator Cramer said. one of the participants in the dispute.
As a result, the Republicans simply left the briefing. “There was no reason to sit and listen to people talk about the importance of helping Israel and Ukraine. We already know that and agree with that,” said Senator Mitt Romney.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D) accused Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of trying to disrupt the meeting.
But he threatened to “stop talking” if the Democrats did not concede on the border.
"We want aid to Ukraine and Israel to pass, but we're talking about borders. My response to the majority leader (Schumer): If you don't believe how serious we are, we'll stop talking. I'm speaking out and I hope everyone in our party votes no this [Ukraine aid] bill to let them know at the end of the day that we are pushing for significant changes at the border," McConnell said.
