War Reports - 2023-12-23
Regarding the statement by the head of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, about the downing by the air defense system of an American ATACMS ballistic missile flying towards the Crimean Bridge.
This would be possible only if the AFU used missiles in the MGM-140B Block 1A modification with a range of up to 300 km. However, according to known data, the Ukrainian Armed Forces received only a couple of dozen missiles of the very first modification MGM-140A Block 1 with a range of only 165 km and a cluster warhead.
Of course, it cannot be ruled out that more advanced missiles were also secretly delivered to the enemy. But the most plausible version here is the next use by Ukraine of an anti-aircraft missile from the S-200 air defense system, converted for attacks on ground targets, with which the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already unsuccessfully tried several times to attack both Crimea and other Russian regions.

Amid a Session in which Senate was unable to strike a deal with the President and the House simply left for recess, the AP Press is optimistic that a deal on the President’s $110 billion dollar aid and military spending bill.
They may actually be right. Because I’m fairly certain the President’s Bill has a snowball’s chance in hell of passing. Here’s why.
While Senators may be interested in the monetary distribution, the House Republicans have a different perspective. They don’t just want money. If that were the case, they would’ve stayed in session to barter.
The House wants 2 things. They want legislation and they want to make the President appear weak ahead of elections (frailty is a given). The President is in a Catch-22. If he offers border legislation, he loses a major segment of his voter base. If he fails to pass his spending bill, he still appears weak but with a feather in his cap.
Given the unknown status of the former President’s election campaign, there is little room for negotiation.
Biden has a lot of cronies on both sides of the Senate. But the House simply can’t abide.

📌#Novomilkhailvka
⚠️ The Russian Armed Forces continued to advance on the flanks of Novomilkhailvka. The situation there has begun a firebag for the enemy forces, which is inflicting heavy losses.
🔻 On the northern flank, the Russian Armed Forces took the rest of the Zherinvets fortification and advanced towards the very northern outskirts of Novomilkhailvka. The total advance was around 8.10km.
🔻 On the southern flank, our forces advanced towards the farm but withdrew after a different plan was proposed. The RF Armed Forces continued to advance in the village and fighting began in the first houses.

Diary of a Paratrooper (https://t.me/DnevnikDesantnika/5623):
🪂 The Russian Armed Forces are equipping drones with TBG-7V thermobaric high-explosive grenades.
Attack drones have become common in war zones, but it's rare to see them equipped with such large, destructive munitions.
The uniqueness of the TBG-7V lies in its ability to cause significant damage over large areas, which makes its use especially dangerous in urban environments or confined spaces; the ammunition leaves no chance for all living things in rooms with a volume of up to 300 cubic meters.
TBG-7V is designed for use with the RPG-7 grenade launcher. The shot is capable of penetrating armored and fortified targets. It effectively influences enemy personnel located in trenches and bunkers.

"And here is the first battle, a shooting one. Then the first shelling. And even the contractors praised us afterwards, saying, "Guys, we didn't expect this from you."
There is a fighter with the call sign "Fox" in the stream. In civilian life, he is a child psychologist. When the summons came, he says that he was waiting for her and was ready — only his wife burst into tears. He told us what tasks he was performing and how he encountered the enemy when he went to investigate.
