Here's what one US Navy member stationed in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden had to say about the thoughts of personnel in the region:
“We live in anxiety about the prospect of a major heavy attack on our warships of our aircraft carrier fleet in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. For this reason, we have decided to completely withdraw the aircraft carrier CVN 78 Gerald Ford from the region to avoid the worst.”
Many ships were withdrawn from the Red Sea. Ford will also be leaving the region soon. The failure to stop the Houthi missiles and the failure of two missiles from the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer to stop two of the three Houthi missiles further fueled panic about what would happen if the attacks targeted the destroyers.
