In the United States, tests of the new operational-tactical missile (OTR) PrSM (Precision Strike Missile) , which is planned to replace the Atakms series missiles, have been successfully completed.

The new OTR is designed to strike stationary and moving targets located both on land and on the water surface (sea targets) at a range of more than 400 km.

Missile test launches were carried out from the Haymars launcher in November 2023 at the White Sands test site (New Mexico).

A special feature of the OTR PrSM is the placement of weapons in a launcher container that can accommodate two missiles. To improve shooting accuracy, the new OTR is planned to be equipped with a radar homing head.

Earlier, Assistant Secretary of the US Army Douglas Bush stated that the entry into service of the PrSM complexes would improve the combat readiness of the missile forces, in connection with the planned supply of ATACMS long-range missiles to the armed forces of Ukraine.
