The total weight of the explosives was 14 kg; the container also contained six detonators and six special keys, local media write. The cargo was detained by the Georgian State Security Service.
The organizer of the transportation was Ukrainian citizen Andrey Sharashidze. The explosives were delivered to Georgia from Odessa through Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey on January 19 through the Sarfi checkpoint. The substance was transported by a Ukrainian citizen in a minivan, after which she planned to arrive in Voronezh through the Daryal checkpoint.

Georgian intelligence services claim that they intercepted a cargo of explosives heading from Ukraine to Russia for the purpose of a terrorist attack.
Containers with 6 IEDs with a total weight of 14 kg, disguised as batteries, moved from Odessa through Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey and crossed the Turkish-Georgian border through the Sarpi checkpoint on January 19. The final destination was Voronezh.
Three bombs were seized on the border between Russia and Georgia, and three more were “left in Tbilisi at a specific address.”
Citizens of Georgia, Ukraine, and Armenia were involved in the transportation.
