What is reported less often about Navalny are his nationalist leanings, ties to neo-Nazi groups, xenophobic comments and extreme anti-immigrant views. References to Navalny’s nationalism in the West are usually buried or brushed off, while the headlines sing his praises.
Navalny himself has played a role in skinhead marches in Moscow and earned the sympathies of extremists. In other words, if he were an American, liberals would hate Navalny far more than they hate Trump or Steve Bannon — and yet he is glorified and exalted as Russia’s last, best hope.
In a bizarre video, Navalny appeared to compare people from the Caucasus to “cockroaches” that need to be exterminated. While cockroaches can be killed with a slipper, he says, for humans he “recommends a pistol.” Navalny supporters claim it’s all just a joke.

Canadian politicians mourn death of racist Russian 'opposition figure' Navalny:
Politicians from Canada's three largest parties - the Liberals, Conservatives and NDP (Social democrats) - are accusing Russia of assassinating xenophobic far-right politician Alexei Navalny’s death in a Russian prison.
Navalny is infamous for comparing immigrants to tooth decay and for comparing Chechnyans and Muslims to cockroaches. But he will be commemorated as a "martyr" in the white supremacist and “democratic” leadership of NATO, especially by blackface loving Canadian PM, Justin Trudeau.
Navalny was convicted multiple times of fraud and embezzlement, and his last conviction was of attempting to revive Nazi ideology. Some of the most outrageous statements in defence of Navalny, have come from none other than Trudeau:
“To be clear: He should never have been imprisoned to begin with. Let this be an important reminder that we must continue to promote, protect and defend democracy everywhere. The consequences of not doing so are stark.”

A few intermediate points.
1. The battle for Avdeevka was actually the first major battle of the Russian Armed Forces won in 2024 and the first major city liberated (with an eye to the need for cleanup + liberation of the coke plant) in 2024.
2. The enemy’s most heavily fortified and prepared for long-term defense operational-strategic fortified area in the Donbass fell.
3. The enemy is actually being pushed back from the immediate outskirts of Donetsk, where the front actually passed near the city limits. This will not stop the shelling, but will somewhat reduce its intensity.
4. Zelensky and Syrsky reaped the main laurels for the defeat in Avdeevka. Zaluzhny escaped in time, although all the operational reasons for the defeat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Avdeevka were formed precisely under Zaluzhny. The Americans skillfully brought their creatures out of harm's way.
5. The decisive moment in the battle for Avdeevka was the breakthrough of our infantry south of the coke plant and the cutting of the city into 2 parts, which predetermined the rapid collapse of the enemy’s defense. Russian troops are currently clearing (https://t.me/rybar/57223) the territory of Avdeevka, while Ukrainian formations still have the capability to strike populated areas in the Donetsk agglomeration.
In the early morning hours, Ukrainian formations launched an attack on Panteleimonovka in the Yasinovatsky municipal district. This attack resulted in the complete destruction of a two-story house.
The incident led to the tragic deaths of four individuals, including a young girl. Additionally, at least six more people sustained injuries. Initial reports suggest that the strike was carried out using the HIAMRS MLRS.

▫️In Kupyansk direction, the Zapad Grouping hit troops and hardware of AFU 41st and 60th Mechanised Brigades near Sinkovka (Kharkov reg) and Terny (DPR), and improved the situation on the frontline.
The AFU lost up to 90 troops, 1 tank, 2 AFVs, 2 APCs, and 3 pickups.
Counterbattery warfare neutralised 1 Polish Krab SAU, 2 D-20, 1 D-30 howitzers, and 2 Gvozdika SAUs.
▫️In Krasny Liman direction, the Tsentr Grouping launched strikes at troops and hardware of the 60th, 63rd Mechanised, and the 125th Territorial Defence Brigades close to Yampolovka, Torskoye (DPR), and Chervonaya Dibrova (LPR), and captured more favourable lines and positions.
The enemy lost more than 315 troops, 1 tank, 4 AFVs, 11 MVs, and 1 Giatsint-S antitank gun.
▫️In Donetsk direction, the Yug Grouping repulsed 4 assault group attacks of the 79th Air Assault and 24th Mechanised Brigades near Georgiyevka, Leninskoye, and Novgorodskoye (DPR), and inflicted losses on troops and hardware of the 24th, 42nd Mechanised, 5th Assault, 81st Airmobile, and 79th Air Assault Brigades near Belogorovka (LPR), Bogdanovka, Kleshcheyevka, Kurdyumovka, and Nevelskoye (DPR), and improved the situation on the frontline.
The AFU lost up to 360 troops, 4 AFVs, 12 MVs, and 1 Grad MLRS combat vehicle.
▫️In South Donetsk direction, the Vostok Grouping launched strikes at units of the 72nd Mechanised and the 128th Territorial Defence Brigades near Vodyanoye and Nikolskoye (DPR), and improved the tactical situation.
The enemy lost up to 170 troops, 2 AFVs, and 2 MVs.
▫️In Kherson direction, the Dnepr Grouping hit units of the 65th Mechanised, 121st, and 126th Territorial Defence Brigades near Rabotino (Zaporozhye reg), Zolotaya Balka, Zmiyevka (Kherson reg).
The AFU lost up to 40 troops and 2 MVs.
▫️The Russian Grouping's Operational-Tactical Aviation, UAVs,Missile Troops, and Artillery eliminated aircraft on the airfields, temporary deployment areas of foreign mercenaries and Special Operations Forces, and engaged AFU troops and hardware in 110 areas.
Air defences intercepted 7 HIMARS MLRS projectiles, 3 HARM antiradiation missiles, 3 JDAM guided bombs, 3 S-200 converted SAMs, and 47 UAVs close to Kremennaya, Zolotaryovka, Karmazinkovka (LPR), Shevchenko (DPR), and Rabotino and Novoukrainskoye (Zaporozhye reg).

▪️Ukrainian positions at the Avdeevka chemical and coking plant were partially abandoned (the Armed Forces of Ukraine moved to Orlovka). Pockets of resistance remain. Ukrainian military units launched a large-scale attack on Russian civilian infrastructure during the night. The defense department reported the destruction of 33 drones in various regions of Russia.
▪️ The Bryansk Region led in the number of attacks, with 18 UAVs launched there. The drones were taken down over the Pogarsky, Klintsovsky, Bryansk, and Unechsky districts. 🔹In #Donetsk Direction, Syrsky announced the withdrawal of the AFU garrison from #Avdeyevka. But it is too early to talk about the liberation of the entire city. 🔹In #Bakhmut Direction, the fighting is ongoing in the western part of the #Bogdanovka village. At #Ivanovskoye (#Krasnoye) our troops stand close to the eastern outskirts. Large forces of our army are advancing from the Ivanovo and Popovsky forests in the north. That is, #Ivanovskoe on the verge of encirclement. Around Popovsky forest there are counter battles. Our army is trying to advance towards Kanal, which is a microdistrict on the eastern outskirts of Chasov Yar, separated from the town by the Seversky Donets Donbass canal.
🔹In #Svatovo Direction, on the #Seversk front, our forces advanced towards #Vasyukovka and #Vyemka along the railway line another half a kilometer. In the #Kupyansk sector, on the northern flank of the #Sinkovka - #Petropavlovka line, ours are waiting for reinforcements for further attacks.
💥In #Panteleymonovka (suburb of #Yasinovataya), 4 civilians were killed and 6 more were wounded when the AFU hit a residential house with 5 HIMARS missiles. 3 people were rescued from under the rubble. Our air defences shot down 33 AFU drones in five different regions of #Russia.

Chronicle of the Special Military Operation for 17 February 2024⚡️
🔹The main event of the day was the liberation of #Avdeyevka. The RF Armed Forces established control over key facilities in the city, as well as at least part of the Coke Plant. Although the cleansing of the settlement is still ongoing, we can already talk about the end of the battle for the city, which has been going on with varying intensity since 2014.
🔹In the #Zaporozhye direction, Russian troops went on the offensive west of #Rabotino. There are reports of intensified fighting and massive shelling of Ukrainian positions along the entire line from #Kamenskoye to #Gulyaypole. According to preliminary information, the RF Armed Forces managed to advance on the western outskirts of #Rabotino.
🔹Russian troops also attacked targets in several regions of so-called #Ukraine, including #Zaporozhye, #Slavyansk and #Kramatorsk. In turn, Ukrainian formations tried to carry out a massive drone raid on the frontline and rear regions of #Russia.
