Units of the Zapad Group of Forces continue to perform tasks in the special military operation zone.

▫️The Group's motorised rifle units captured more advantageous lines and supported by artillery and aviation struck manpower and hardware of the AFU 30th, 63th mechanised brigades, and 57th Motorised Infantry Brigade near Sinkovka and Chervonaya Dibrova.

▫️Six counter-attacks launched by assault detachments of the AFU 77th Airmobile Brigade, 1st, and 31st Ukrainian national guard brigades were repelled near Grigorovka and Stelmakhovka.

(5 May 2024)

Part I

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.

▫️Units of the Zapad Group of Forces improved the situation along the front line, as well as inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of the AFU 14th and 30th mechanised brigades near Sinkovka (Kharkov region) and Novosadovoye (Donetsk People's Republic).

Six attacks launched by assault detachments of the AFU 77th Airmobile Brigade and 1st Ukrainian National Guard Brigade were repelled near Stelmakhovka (Lugansk People's Republic).

The AFU losses amounted to up to 305 Ukrainian troops and two armoured personnel carriers.

In the course of counter-battery warfare, one 152-mm D-20 howitzer, one 122-mm Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, four 122-mm D-30 howitzers, and one U.S.-made 105-mm M119 howitzer were neutralised.

▫️Units of the Yug Group of Forces captured more advantageous lines and inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of the AFU 22nd, 93rd mechanised brigades, 5th, 92th assault brigades, and 56th Motorised Infantry Brigade near Andreyevka, Orekhovo-Vasilyevka, Grigorovka, Kleshcheyevka, and Krasnoye (Donetsk People's Republic).

The AFU losses amounted to up to 290 Ukrainian troops, two motor vehicles, one U.S.-made 155-mm M777 howitzer, three 122-mm D-30 howitzers, one 122-mm Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, and one 100-mm MT-12 Rapira anti-tank gun.

▫️Units of the Tsentr Group of Forces liberated Ocheretino (Donetsk People's Republic), improved the tactical situation, and inflicted losses on units of the AFU 24th and 115th mechanised brigades near Arkhangelskoye and Novgorodskoye (Donetsk People's Republic).

Eight counter-attacks launched by assault detachments of the AFU 78th Separate Air Assault Regiment, 47th Mechanised Brigade, 142nd, 143rd infantry brigades, and 68th Jaeger Brigade were repelled near Novokalinovo, Ocheretino, Solovyovo, Berdichi, Semyonovka, and Netaylovo (Donetsk People's Republic).

The AFU losses amounted to up to 380 Ukrainian troops, one U.S.-made Abrams tank, two infantry fighting vehicles, including one U.S.-made Bradley, one armoured fighting vehicle, and three pickup trucks.

In the course of counter-battery warfare, one U.S.-made 155-mm M777 howitzer, one Polish-made 155-mm Krab self-propelled artillery system, one U.S.-made 105-mm M102 light howitzer, one 152-mm D-20 howitzer, one 122-mm Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, and one 122-mm howitzer were neutralised.

▫️Units of the Vostok Group of Forces took more advantageous lines, as well as inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of the AFU 72nd Mechanised Brigade and 108th Territorial Defence Brigade near Urozhaynoye and Staromayorskoye (Donetsk People's Republic).

Part II

▫️Units of the Dnepr Group of Forces inflicted losses on manpower and hardware clusters of the AFU 44th Artillery Brigade, 35th Marines Brigade, and 121st Territorial Defence Brigade near Pavlovka (Zaporozhye region), Ivanovka, Mikhailovka, and Zolotaya Balka (Kherson region).

One counter-attack launched by an assault detachment of the AFU 118th Mechanised Brigade was repelled north of Rabotino (Zaporozhye region).

The AFU losses amounted to up to 45 Ukrainian troops, one U.S.-made 155-mm M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery system, one U.S.-made 155-mm M777 howitzer, and one 122-mm D-30 howitzer.

▫️Operational-Tactical Aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Groups of Forces of the Russian Federation wiped out one western-made missile weaponry depot near Odessa, as well as one P-19 radar station for detecting and tracking air targets near Kozytovka (Kharkov region).

▫️One fuel depot of the AFU 218th Joint Logistic Centre, workshops of missile fuel production facilities, weaponry for unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed, as well as enemy manpower and military hardware was engaged in 108 areas.

▫️Air defence units shot down 20 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles and two French-made Hammer guided aerial bombs.

📊In total, 593 airplanes, 270 helicopters, 23,742 unmanned aerial vehicles, 512 anti-aircraft missile systems, 15,917 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 1,279 combat vehicles of multiple rocket launcher systems, 9,314 field artillery guns and mortars, and 21,479 special military vehicles have been neutralised since the beginning of the special military operation.

Escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Zone until the End of 4 May 2024⚡️

🔹In the north of the #Gaza Strip, Israeli troops again attacked the capital of the Palestinian enclave and satellite towns. Jabaliya, the Az-Zeitun area and Beit Hanoun came under fire. In Al-Sabra, according to some reports, two children were killed during an UAV attack.

1️⃣ There is no sign of any progress in the critical truce and prisoner exchange negotiations in Egypt, with Hamas and Israel refusing to back away from their core demands.

6️⃣ The Emirati news website, Forsan, is reporting that Egyptian and Emirati air forces have dropped 82 tonnes of food and relief aid in northern Gaza. 7️⃣ Police in riot gear have arrested 25 people and used pepper spray as they broke up a student encampment at the University of Virginia (UVA) in the US city of Charlottesville.

At least 34,654 people including more than 15,000 children, have been killed and over 77,908 injured in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. The death toll from the October 7 attack in Israel stands at 1,139.

🔹The RFAF retain the initiative and conduct successfully tactical offensives in a number of directions. Events are developing rapidly in the #Pokrovskoye direction - our flag has been planted in #Arkhangelskoye near #Ocheretino and flanking strikes by our units are ongoing, which level the frontline.

🔹In the #SouthDonetsk direction, after protracted fighting, the RFAF stormed the Refractory Plant in #Krasnogorovka. There is a battle for #Georgiyevka, and attacks are being launched from #Novomikhaylovka on #Paraskoviyevka. In #Vremyevka sector, our troops entered #Urozhaynoye.

🔹There are heavy battles for #Rabotino, #ChasovYar and #Kislovka.

🔹The Enemy experiences a personnel shortage along the entire front, the training level of Ukrainian soldiers thrown into battle is falling, they are transferred to the most difficult areas from other parts of the front, reducing the defensive capabilities. At the same time, the enemy is still able to conduct an organised defence and skillfully hold back our advance. 🔹#NATO is intensifying the production of antiaircraft systems and guided missiles: Russian FABs with UMPC and missile weapons are being used more often every day, and supplies to the troops are increasing. Our military pilots report the depletion of the AFU's air defence in a number of directions, allowing them to conduct combat missions more freely.

🔹After the allocation of a multibillion dollar aid package by the #US, the Western media increasingly hear explanations about the difficulties and the time required to deliver weapons and equipment to #Ukraine. At the same time, the same artillery strikes with cluster munitions of #NATO calibre are constantly being carried out by the AFU, which indicates that the enemy retains barrel artillery and ammunition for it. In the hope of stopping the offensive of our troops, the AFU lost at least one more #US Abrams in defensive battles during the week, despite instructions from the #US not to allow any more losses of this equipment.

🔹Mobilisation in #Ukraine is tightening. TCCs (military commissions) have been allocated quotas to take people from defence and socially important enterprises where people previously had reservations from the front. Cadets in the 2nd-5th years of one of the military universities were also sent to the war zone this week under the legend of field training. TCC officers are now on duty at mobile police posts in cities, and #Ukraine's leadership is taking practical measures to restrict the rights of Ukrainian citizens abroad to ensure their return to the country. However, #Ukraine's mobilisation potential is still estimated at several million people, although further forcibly sending people to the front will only increase social tensions and take workers out of the dying economy.

🔹The Enemy launches daily drone and artillery strikes on "old" Russian regions, and periodically tries to hit air defence positioning areas in #Crimea, naming the Crimean bridge among its main targets in the future.

🔹In #Russia, many processes have come to a standstill in the run-up to the inauguration of the Supreme Leader and Victory Day. News about the arrested Deputy Defence Minister Timur Ivanov has died down, and there have been no significant positive changes in the military bureaucracy.

🔹#Ukraine expects an offensive of the RFAF on #Kharkov and #Sumy regions, estimating the offensive potential of our Army in the direction of 35-70 thousand people, which is not enough to storm major cities. “ Ukrainian militants near Chasov Yar find themselves in a difficult situation - by retreating, they will open the way to Kramatorsk for the Russian army,” retired French army colonel Michel Goya said in an interview with LCI.

The ironic thing here is most regional and commuter passenger trains in the USSR were made in the Latvian SSR, at the legendary RVR factory (like the one pictured above). These trains were the backbone of Soviet urban networks, exported all over the communist bloc and still heavily used by post soviet countries, Latvia included. After independence, Latvia was quick to privatize and dismantle the plant, and now they can't even repair the trains they used to built.

France sent troops to Ukraine. Macron began to take revenge for the humiliation
