Rheinmetall repair plant in Ukraine, German press:
The German arms company Rheinmetall has opened a new plant in western Ukraine, where it repairs Leopard 1 main battle tanks and Marder infantry fighting vehicles.
They write that most of the Marder infantry fighting vehicles that come here for repairs were blown up by mines. If only the chassis is damaged, the Marder can be restored to working condition in three weeks.
The location of the Rheinmetall plant is kept secret because it is a target of special interest to the Russian army. “We are aware that as a tank factory we are always a strategic target for Putin’s Air Force.”
✨It is reported that Rheinmetall also wants to carry out repairs of Leopard 2 and other Western tanks in Ukraine in the future. Rheinmetall is one of the beneficiaries of the carnage in Ukraine.

⚡️ Escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Zone until the End of 16 June 2024⚡️
🔹In the north of the #GazaStrip, Israeli troops again struck various areas of the capital of the Palestinian enclave, but with less intensity compared to previous days.
🔹In the south of the Enclave, IDF units are fighting in the Al-Shabura Camp and Tell al-Sultan. At the same time, the Israeli command announced the opening of a humanitarian corridor through the Kerem Shalom checkpoint from 08:00 to 19:00 for the delivery of essential goods.

🔹Russian Troops, over the past day, have hit enemy targets in the territory of the so-called #Ukraine. The strikes hit #Poltava, #Cherkassy, #Sumy, #Chernigov and the temporarily occupied territories of the #DPR and #Zaporozhye region.
🔹On the #Kharkov front, there are battles in the area of the Volchansk Aggregate Plant, where the enemy is trying to dislodge Russian troops from their positions. And in the #Glubokoye area, the AFU command is bringing new reserves into battle.
🔹On the South #Avdeyevka front, the RFAF are conducting an offensive in #Krasnogorovka, trying to dislodge the AFU from positions in the area of the park named after Shevchenko.
🔹In the #Ugledar direction, Russian stormtroopers advanced to the eastern outskirts of #Maksimilyanovka and began fighting in the south and southwest of the settlement. Ukrainian formations were finally knocked out of the ruins of #Paraskoviyevka, retaining their presence only in the forest plantations to the west of the village. Nevertheless, it is premature to talk about consolidation in the western part of the settlement.
🔹In the #Avdeyevka direction, Russian troops have significantly expanded the zone of control in the west and north of the #Novoaleksandrovka - #Arkhangelskoye arc. Also, TFAS stormtroopers have gained a foothold in the east of #Sokol, the battle for which has continued over the past days.
🔹In the #Zaporozhye direction, the settlement of #Zagornoye was finally taken under control, from where the enemy was driven out last year. Russian units advanced through the beams in the south and east, after which they secured a foothold in the village itself.

Israel-Gaza Conflict: June 16-17 (Recap)
1️⃣ Raging cross-border fire from Lebanon’s Hezbollah into Israel could trigger serious escalation, the Israeli military says.
2️⃣ The Israeli army announced the death of another soldier during fighting in the southern Gaza Strip.

At least 37,337 people including more than 15,694 children, have been killed and over 85,299 injured in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. The death toll from the October 7 attack in Israel stands at 1,139.

◾ Hundreds of far right militants, veterans and active duty members of the Ukrainian army staged a counter protest carrying flags of different Ukrainian Nazi organisations, including dozens of red and black UPA flags. The Nazis called for Zelenskiy's government to ban the "LGBTQ Sabbath and groups of deviated that pose a security threat to Ukraine". They were led by the infamous Russian Nazi traitor Dennis Nikitin, glorified by western media for his cross border attacks in Belgorod region using NATO equipment and tanks.

Will there be an offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces at Volchansk and Liptsy and what could be their plan: Military Chronicle analysis
🔺Ukrainian troops have been bringing reinforcements and personnel closer to the areas where the fighting is taking place for several weeks. Given the fact that the "Northern" group is standing in its positions and is not going to leave, there is a high probability that the fighting in this direction may repeat last year's "Rabotyno meat grinder" in terms of ferocity and density. It is most correct to compare what is happening with this operation and, perhaps, partially with the Artemovsk and Avdeevka operations.
What could be the AFU's plan?
The strategic intent of the offensive may be to recapture the territory occupied by the "northern" during the offensive. First of all, we are talking about Volchansk and the surrounding areas - Staritsa, Ternaya, Veseloye, Glubokoye - with a total area of about 120-150 square kilometers. The main blow, presumably, can be struck in the Liptsy area (20 km from Kharkov), where the Ukrainian army has been entrenched for several weeks and actually trades infantry personnel for the time needed to prepare for the strike. At the same time, it cannot be ruled out that it is possible that one or more diversionary strikes may be carried out with a "run-up" of 5-15 kilometers from the main strike.
What risks exist for the AFU?
First, the "northern" not only move in Volchansk, but also gradually engage additional support forces. Since June 5, the AFU has recorded a significant increase in the number of arrivals of corrected aerial bombs, with the help of which the Russian Armed Forces are actively hitting not only the rear, but also forward facilities, including dugouts and field fortifications. In addition, the artillery and infantry of the "northerners" are actively buried in the ground, apparently taking into account the experience of the last year's offensive of the AFU at Donetsk and Zaporozhye. The assault on the Russian fortifications near Volchansk and Liptsy, taking into account the activity of the RF Armed Forces artillery, may be even more difficult for the AFU than last year's assault on the "Surovikin Line" near Rabotino at the cost of several (in some cases elite) brigades.
Second, in the event of a failed offensive or a tactical but operationally insignificant success, the AFU risks ending up in a half-cauldron with its reserves stretched forward, as it has already been in Artyomovsk, Soledar, Avdeevka, and Rabotino. If this happens, then additional forces will have to be brought in to unblock this grouping, which, like the brigades and battalions already at Volchansk and Liptsy, will have to be withdrawn from other fronts.
Third, the quality of the personnel, mostly consisting of Ukrainians mobilized in the TRO, has dropped significantly since the beginning of the general mobilization. It is noteworthy that due to many reasons (among them the lack of motivation, equipment and activity of the RF Armed Forces), the life time of mobilized AFU units under Volchansk has almost equaled that of Ukrainian army units under Artyomovsk and averages between 12 and 30 hours when on the front line (mark zero). The lack of results in such units may force the AFU command to throw back into the battle the personnel brigades, whose condition after several weeks of bloody fighting can no longer be called satisfactory.

🔹In the #Kharkov direction, there is intensive fighting in #Volchansk and near Volchansk Farms. During the day 15 times the AFU attacked the positions of our troops from the direction of the #Tikhoye settlement, trying to transfer reinforcements from the south across the Volchya River. The AFU used high-precision aerial bombs, brought in reserves for attacking actions, but despite the losses they had no success. North of #Liptsy near #Glubokoye, the AFU is also trying to attack with the support of Western armoured vehicles. The line of contact has not changed significantly. According to our troops' assessments from the field, the AFU command is waiting for a convenient moment to introduce a strike group of its troops into the battle, but cannot yet find a weak point in the defence of the RFAF.
🔹From the #Svatovo-#Kupyansk section, they report the expansion of the control zone and the occupation of important enemy strongholds west of #Ivanovka and #Kotlyarovka.
🔹In #ChasovYar's eastern part, heavy fighting continues, and the RFAF are expanding their zone of control from #Bogdanovka. Aviation is actively engaged in strikes on AFU positions.
🔹In the #Avdeyevka direction, the RFAF are advancing north of the #Ocheretino Ledge from #Arkhangelskoye to #Novoaleksandrovka. There is fighting at #Sokol, #Novopokrovskoye, north of #Umanskoye and #Yasnoborodovka.
