🏳️ Ukrainian POW Yury Zadorozhny speaks how AFU command sent his unit in Kursk region and left them behind

As he said, those mobilised men, who were over 50 years old, were organised in a security company and sent to Kursk region even though the command said that these men would be sent to Sumy region to dig in. Before deployment, Zadorozhny and his comrades underwent drills at a training ground.

'We spent three weeks at a training ground in Chernigov region. Most of us were over 50. There weren't many young people. When this company was formed, we were told that we would stay in the rear, that we would work in the rear. They said that we wouldn't go to the front lines,' said Yury Zadorozhny.

During an offensive of Russian troops, the AFU command left these men behind. The Zadorozhny's unit suffered great losses, but nine men surrendered and survived.

'We said over the radio that some of us were heavily wounded. The commander said 'stay put, we will come to get you.' How would they evacuate us if we were dropped off eight kilometres away. The drivers were afraid of FPV drones operating in the area. In front, then in the back, then they began to shout 'surrender, surrender, surrender.' I shouted loudly: 'We surrender, we surrender!'. They calmed down and stopped shooting. The wounded were provided with medical assistance. I thanked these men on many occasions. They treated me so humanly. I didn't think I would be given an opportunity to keep on living until old age,' he said.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.

▫️The Sever Group of Forces in Liptsy and Volchansk directions engaged formations of 57th Motorised Infantry Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and 113th Territorial Defence Brigade near Velikiye Prokhody and Volchanskiye Khutora (Kharkov region).

The AFU losses amounted to up to 110 troops, eight motor vehicles, and one 122-mm D-30 howitzer. One materiel depot was wiped out.

▫️Units of the Zapad Group of Forces took more advantageous lines and positions. The Russian units hit manpower and hardware of the 14th, 30th, 53rd, 63rd, 77th mechanised brigades, and 3rd Assault Brigade near Petropavlovka, Berestovoye (Kharkov region), Grigorovka (Donetsk People's Republic), Chervonaya Dibrova, and Novoyegorovka (Lugansk People's Republic), as well as Olivovsky Yar.

Two counter-attacks launched by AFU assault detachments were repelled. The enemy losses were up to 465 troops, one tank, two armoured fighting vehicles, ten motor vehicles, one U.S.-made 155-mm M114 howitzer, one 122-mm Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, one 122-mm D-30 howitzer, and one U.S.-made 105-mm L-119 gun. Three ammunition depots were wiped out.

▫️The Yug Group of Forces engaged 23rd, 24th, 30th, 33rd mechanised brigades, 5th Assault Brigade, and 81st Aeromobile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Chasov Yar, Katerinovka, Zaliznyanskoye, Minkovka, Stupochki, Antonovka, and Serebryanka (Donetsk People's Republic).

Two counter-attacks of AFU assault groups were repelled. The AFU lost up to 640 troops, one infantry fighting vehicle, eight motor vehicles, one Swedish-made 155-mm Archer self-propelled artillery system, one U.S.-made 155-mm M777 howitzer, one 152-mm Msta-B howitzer, and two 122-mm D-30 howitzers. ▫️The Tsentr Group of Forces continued advancing to the depths of enemy defences. Three counter-attacks were repelled of the AFU 72nd Mechanised Brigade and the 123rd Territorial Defence Brigade. The enemy lost up to 140 troops and 11 motor vehicles. One ammunition depot was wiped out.

▫️The Dnepr Group of Forces engaged manpower and hardware of the 31st, 118th mechanised brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 141st Infantry Brigade, 36th Marine Brigade, 103rd and 108th territorial defence brigades near Kazatskoye (Kherson region), Kamenskoye, Novodanilovka, Belogorye, and Malaya Tokmachka (Zaporozhye region).

The AFU losses were up to 70 troops, seven motor vehicles, one 155-mm Bogdana self-propelled artillery system, one 85-mm D-44 battalion gun, and one Bukovel-AD electronic warfare station. One ammunition depot was wiped out.

▫️Operational-Tactical Aviation, attack unmanned aerial vehicles, and Missile Troops and Artillery of the Russian Groups of Forces engaged Ukrainian energy facilities that supported the defence industry of Ukraine, as well as clusters of enemy manpower and military hardware in 146 areas.

▫️Air defence facilities shot down 11 U.S.-made HIMARS MLRS projectiles and 125 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.

▫️In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 646 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 33,544 unmanned aerial vehicles, 582 anti-aircraft missile systems, 18,611 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 1,470 MLRS combat vehicles, 16,048 field artillery guns and mortars, and 27,197 units of support military vehicles have been neutralised.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the operation to neutralise an enemy group, which broke into the territory of Kursk region.

▫️The Sever Group of Forces continued their offensive actions, in the course of which the formations of the 22nd, 41st, 47th, and 115th Mechanised Brigades, the 17th Tank Brigade, 82nd and 95th air assault brigades, the 1st National Guard Brigade, as well as the 103rd and 129th territorial defence brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were hit near Daryino, Lyubimovka, Malaya Loknya, Tolsty Lug, Novy Put, and Plekhovo.

In addition, over the past 24 hours, the Group's units repelled five enemy counter-attacks in the direction of Lyubimovka, Tolsty Lug, and Novoivanovka. As a result, the AFU lost up to 60 people killed and wounded, two tanks, six armoured fighting vehicles, and five motor vehicles.

▫️Army aviation and artillery fire hit clusters of manpower and hardware of the 21st, 22nd, 47th, and 61st mechanised brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 82nd, and 95th air assault brigades, the 1st National Guard Brigade, as well as the 103rd, 112th, and 129th territorial defence brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine close to Vladimirovka, Daryino, Kolmakov, Kozhachaya Loknya, Lyubimovka, Lebedevka, Malaya Loknya, Martynovka, Makhnovka, Nikolayevo-Darino, Novy Put, Novoivanovka, Orlovka, Plekhovo, Sverdlikovo, Sudzha, Tolsty Lug, and Cherkasskoye Porechnoye.

▫️Operational-Tactical Aviation and Missile Troops launched strikes at concentration areas in Sumy region and reserves of the 21st, 47th, and 115th mechanised brigades, the 95th Air Assault Brigade, the 36th Marine Brigade, as well as the 103rd and 119th territorial defence brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Belopolye, Belovody, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Vorozhba, Vodolagi, Kislaya Dubina, Mirlogi, Obody, Pavlovka, Rechki, Stepanovka, Sumy, and Shpil.

▫️During the day, the AFU losses amounted to more than 400 troops, 18 armoured vehicles, including six tanks, two infantry fighting vehicles, 10 armoured fighting vehicles, as well as four artillery guns, two multiple rocket launchers (U.S.-made HIMARS MLRS and Czech-made Vampire MLRS launchers), four mortars, one electronic warfare station, and 14 motor vehicles. Seven AFU servicemen surrendered.

▫️In total, the enemy lost more than 22,300 servicemen, 150 tanks, 71 infantry fighting vehicles, 98 armoured personnel carriers, 907 armoured fighting vehicles, 608 motor vehicles, 185 artillery guns, 36 multiple rocket launchers, including nine HIMARS and six U.S.-made MLRSs, nine anti-aircraft missile launchers, five transport and loading vehicles, 48 EW stations, nine counter-battery warfare radars, three air defence systems, 22 pieces of engineering and other equipment, including 13 engineering barriers, one UR-77 mine clearing vehicle, and three armoured recovery vehicles.

🇦🇿🇦🇲 Increased flights of Azerbaijani drones near Armenia

As soon as the Armenian Prime Minister hinted at the readiness to open a land corridor through the Syunik region, but on similar terms as Iran, the Azerbaijanis resumed intensive reconnaissance of Armenia.

🔻Over the past day, "Bayraktar TB2" drones from the Dallar and Yevlakh airfields, as well as "Akinci" drones from the Salyan air base, have been patrolling the Armenian borders on a virtually round-the-clock basis.

▪️The "Bayraktars" are circling in the directions of Ijevan and Vardenis along Lake Sevan, while the latest "Akinci" is operating over the former Stepanakert (now Khankendi) - the administrative center of Karabakh.

▪️Such Azerbaijani activity on the borders of Armenia has not been observed for a long time. The last time this was seen was during the demarcation of the borders in the area of the disputed enclaves, but it was related to the control of this process.

Now there are no visible reasons for increased reconnaissance - even reports of shelling along the border are extremely rare. And the fact that this happened immediately after Pashinyan's visit to Moscow looks suspicious.

Moreover, the Armenian air defense system is now practically defenseless, since the Russian radar groups were withdrawn from their usual positions near Lake Sevan, so the activity of the UAVs of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces may come as a surprise to the Armenian Ministry of Defense.

The Russian forces delivered a missile strike on enemy targets in the Odesa Region and Kramatorsk. Ukrainian formations launched drone strikes towards the Kursk, Bryansk, Belgorod and Rostov Regions.

In the Kursk direction, the Russian forces are developing the successes of the previous days, having virtually completely pushed the enemy out of the Glushkovo District, and also continuing their successful offensive in the Sudzha District.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the Ukrainian troops launched an attack northwest of Novohrodivka, fierce clashes are ongoing on the western outskirts of Selidovo.

Israeli forces are conducting an operation in the north of the enclave and are engaged in fighting in Jabalia. The rest of the GAZA territory and its surroundings are subjected to air strikes, with Palestinians routinely reporting humanitarian problems.

▪️ Overnight, due to a UAV attack by the AFU in two districts of the Krasnodar Region, homes and property of residents were damaged. Fortunately, there were no casualties among the people. In Slavyansk-on-Kuban, the roofs of two private homes were damaged by falling UAV debris. In Primorsko-Akhtarsk, the windows of one house were blown out, and a passenger car was damaged and caught fire. The fire was quickly extinguished. All incidents were without casualties.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 Aleksandr-Kalinovo Direction: Urban Fighting in Dzerzhynsk and Stabilization of the Flanks of the Russian Grouping

In the Aleksandr-Kalinovo direction, Russian forces are engaged in fierce urban combat in Dzerzhynsk. At the same time, in the area of Leonidivka and Dachne, the Russian Armed Forces are consolidating on the lines they have reached.

▪️After liberating most of Druzhba and Kirovo, Russian units are attacking along the Dachne - Dyleevka line. Ukrainian formations are still holding positions in the forest areas and forest belts on the approaches to the settlements and are setting up new ones along the railway track.

▪️In Dzerzhynsk, Russian assault groups are gradually advancing along the streets in the northern part of the city. In the area of the Lenin Central City Hospital, Russian forces have pushed the enemy out of buildings on Pushkarenko, Dogaev and Kemerovskaya streets, reaching Shchors Street.

Over the past few days, they have also managed to establish control over the Traffic Police Department on the approaches to the Dzerzhinsky Mine. To the north, the Russian Armed Forces have expanded the control zone along Mayakovsky Street and engaged in battles in the area of Kindergarten No. 8.

❗️Despite statements from certain sources, it is still too early to speak of the liberation of the facility's territory. The specifics of urban combat complicate the establishment of the exact configuration of the front line due to the "overlapping" of the positions of the Russian Armed Forces and the AFU.

Quite often, the situation is such that on different floors of the same building, assault groups of both sides may be present, sometimes not even knowing about the close proximity of the enemy. In such a situation, each stairwell can be a strongpoint, the detection of which is difficult in the dynamically changing environment.

▪️In the southern part of the city, the Russian Armed Forces have advanced along one side of Sverdlov Avenue and reached Blahodatna Street. Thus, both "pincers" of the semi-encirclement have reached the approaches to the Dzerzhinsky Mine, the establishment of control over which will allow to encircle the AFU units in the urban area to the southeast.

In turn, the enemy is using various types of drones, trying to prevent the concentration of Russian personnel in this area for the assault on the mine's territory.

To the east of Sverdlov Avenue, there is currently a vast "gray zone". Russian assault troops are engaged in fierce battles here, and the actual control zones of the parties may differ significantly from the latest data received due to the dynamic changes in the situation.

▪️The situation on the Leonidivka - Shcherbynivka line is currently shrouded in the "fog of war". After reports of an offensive by the Russian Armed Forces in this area in late September, an informational "lull" has set in here. The lack of objective control footage does not allow clarifying the configuration of the front line at this line.

🔻In Glushkovo District, the Russian Armed Forces are fighting on the northern outskirts of Novy Put. Ukrainian formations are holding positions south of the railway track and are accumulating forces for a counterattack in the area.

The artillery and air force of the Russian Armed Forces regularly strike the rear communications of the AFU, reducing their combat potential and hampering the supply of forward units. Over the past day, the positions of Ukrainian formations in Pavlovka, Katerynivka and Iskryskovshchyna were hit.

🔻In Korenevo District, the battle for Lyubimovka continues, where enemy units have been partially encircled. Likely, the Ukrainian formations will soon be forced to either leave the village or carry out counterattacks to improve their position.
