for January 3 - 6, 2025
Russian forces struck targets in the rear regions of the so-called Ukraine, including military airfields. Ukrainian formations launched several waves of UAVs against Russian territory, also attacking an oil depot in the Leningrad Region.
In the Kursk Region, the enemy tried to break through the defense of the Russian Armed Forces on the border of the Sudzha and Bolshesoldatskoye districts, but the Russian troops repelled all attacks, destroying several dozen pieces of equipment.
In the Kupiansk-Svatove direction, units of the Russian Armed Forces eliminated the "pocket" between Berestove and Lozova, advancing towards Bohuslavka, and also liberated the village of Nadiya.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops developed their success from the recently liberated Vozdvyzhenka and advanced towards Yelyzavetivka, and on the western flank they drove the AFU out of Volkovo.

Morning Summary on January 7, 2025
▪️ In Kursk Region, for the second day in a row, the Russian Armed Forces have been holding back the enemy's offensive in the Sudzha - Bolshoye Soldatskoye direction. The enemy again threw infantry and armored vehicles into the attack, but did not succeed, losing a total of at least 35 pieces of equipment (including tanks) and more than 200 personnel in the attacks. During the day, 14 enemy personnel were captured in the area of the Berdin farmstead, and during interrogation they said that up to 50% of the enemy's infantry is from the special contingent (prisoners, including those forcibly mobilized). ▪️ East of Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmiisk), Russian Armed Forces units are breaking through to the highway interchange north of Vozdvyzhenka, with fighting continuing in the neighboring Yelyzavetivka and Baranivka. The Russian forces are depriving Pokrovsk of logistics from the west: attacks are underway towards Kotlyne, Udachne, Novoserhiivka.

▫️In Kharkov direction, units of the Sever Group of Forces inflicted losses on formations of one mechanised brigade, one air assault brigade of the AFU, and one territorial defence brigade near Oreshanka, Granov, Veterinarnoye (Kharkov region).
The AFU losses amounted to up to 65 troops, two motor vehicles, two 152-mm D-20 guns, and two 122-mm D-30 howitzers.
▫️Units of the Zapad Group of Forces improved the tactical situation along the front line. Losses were inflicted on manpower and hardware of two mechanised brigades and one assault brigade of the AFU near Zeleny Gay, Petropavlovka (Kharkov region), and Novoyegorovka (Lugansk People's Republic). Two counter-attacks launched by AFU assault detachments were repelled.
The AFU losses amounted to up to 580 troops, two infantry fighting vehicles, 12 motor vehicles, one Italian-made Iveco armoured fighting vehicle, one Italian-made 105-mm Melara Mod 56 howitzer, one German-made 155-mm Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled artillery system, one 122-mm Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, three 122-mm D-30 howitzers, one U.S.-made M113 armoured personnel carrier, two U.S.-made 155-mm M777 howitzers, two U.S.-made 155-mm M198 howitzers, and one U.S.-made 105-mm M119 guns.

▫️Units of the Dnepr Group of Forces inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of one infantry brigade of the AFU near Pyatikhatki (Zaporozhye region).
The AFU losses amounted to up to 80 troops, six motor vehicles, and one 122-mm D-30 howitzer. One Bukovel-AD electronic warfare station and one ammunition depot were destroyed.
▫️Operational-Tactical Aviation, attack unmanned aerial vehicles, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Russian Groups of Forces struck infrastructure of military airfields, ammunition depots, as well as engaged manpower and hardware of the armed AFU formations and foreign mercenaries in 164 areas.
▫️Air defence units shot down six U.S.-made HIMARS MLRS projectiles and 50 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.
▫️In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 652 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 39,618 unmanned aerial vehicles, 590 anti-aircraft missile systems, 20,280 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 1,507 MLRS combat vehicles, 20,270 field artillery guns and mortars, and 29,955 units of support military vehicles have been neutralised.

▫️In the course of offensive actions, units of the Sever Group of Forces inflicted losses on formations of one heavy mechanised brigade, three mechanised brigades, two air assault brigades, one marine brigade, and two territorial defence brigades of the AFU near Kazachaya Loknya, Kubatkin, Lebedevka, Nikolsky, Sudzha, and Cherkasskoye Porechnoye.
▫️Operational-Tactical and Army aviation and artillery inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of the enemy near Zazulevka, Zamostye, Kamyshovka, Mirny, Russkoye Porechnoye, Sverdlikovo as well as Basovka in Sumy region.
▫️Over the past 24 hours, the AFU losses amounted to more than 325 troops, ten tanks, one infantry fighting vehicle, one armoured personnel carrier, 11 armoured fighting vehicles, eight motor vehicles, three artillery guns, and three mortars.
