Highlights of Russian Military Operation in Ukraine on July 16
▪️The AFU again used air and sea drones to attack Sevastopol.
Russian air defense assets and crews of Black Sea Fleet ships destroyed all the vehicles involved in the attack.
▪️The AFU continue to shell populated areas of Belgorod Region with barrel and rocket artillery.
In Shebekino the central market came under fire, a woman was killed.
▪️The AFU hit a mine southwest of Luhansk with cluster munitions.
The hit was recorded in a warehouse with ammonal and TNT. No casualties.
▪️Artillery duels and positional battles continue on the northern flank of the Bakhmut defense.
The Ukrainian command has taken another tactical pause to conduct rotation and accumulate forces for new attacks.
▪️To the south, the AFU made several unsuccessful attempts to storm Russian positions on the heights near Klishchiivka.
Russian forces responded to the enemy's offensive with a counterattack, further expanding the zone of control around the village.
▪️In the Vremivka sector, the AFU advanced units managed to enter the northern outskirts of Staromayroske for a while.
After a decisive counterattack, the enemy was knocked out of the settlement, which remains under the control of Russian forces.
▪️In the Orikhiv sector, the AFU is preparing for a new phase of counteroffensive in the Robotyne and Pyatykhatky areas.
Russian troops, in turn, are strengthening defensive lines and mined approaches to positions.

What is the military meaning of the attack on the Crimean bridge: analysis of the military chronicle
On the morning of July 17, the Armed Forces of Ukraine sent several unmanned jet skis filled with explosives under the Crimean bridge. As a result of the explosion, the span of the automobile bridge was partially damaged, people were killed.
What is the meaning of such an attack?
As in the case of the strike on the bridge on October 8, 2022, the attack on the infrastructure facility is purely terrorist in nature. For a long time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not admit their involvement in the terrorist attack committed last year, but later the responsibility of the Ukrainian special services for this terrorist attack was confirmed. The railway and road parts of the bridge were soon restored, and traffic on them was launched as usual.
How does the Crimean bridge affect the supply of NWO?
Last time, representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that they blew up a truck filled with explosives on the bridge to "disrupt logistics." From the point of view of supplying units of the RF Armed Forces in the NVO zone, the Crimean Bridge has not played a key role for a long time - almost all supply is carried out along the land corridor through the Taganrog-Mariupol line, so any delay in the movement of trains or trucks across the bridge either does not affect the supply at all, or has a minimal effect .
What happened after the bridge attack last October?
After last year's terrorist attack, there were quite concrete military and social consequences for Ukraine. A series of missile strikes, which followed a few days after the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, deprived the country of a significant part of the electric power facilities, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine paid for the strike on the Crimean bridge with a dozen objects, on which Ukrainian military personnel, military equipment and hundreds of regular officers were located, the number of which can be restored with a simple dial mobilization is not possible. In addition, the strike on the Crimean bridge had absolutely no effect on the situation on the battlefield. The October terrorist attack was committed at the height of the battle for Artyomovsk, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine were still driven out of the city and suffered enormous losses.
What could be the answer now?
It is important to understand that after the October attack on the Crimean bridge, a number of important conclusions were drawn regarding the proportionality of the response to such attacks. There was no instant mirror response, but there was an asymmetric and thoughtful military response.
However, this time, there may be changes. Which? First, strikes with Caliber and Kh-101 cruise missiles have not been launched recently, which means that the total stock of such missiles could be increased to a serious level.
Secondly, the production of Geran-2 strike drones has reached the industrial level. Taking into account the fact that strikes with such ammunition are inflicted non-stop almost every day, it can be argued that the stocks of these weapons are several dozen times higher than at the beginning and middle of the NMD, which makes it possible to inflict much larger strikes on military and energy facilities.
In addition, the RF Armed Forces already have experience in destroying key weapons - the Patriot and IRIS-T air defense systems, and also have experience in delivering local strikes, for example, on the GUR building in Kiev, which expands the window of opportunity to hit targets.
The experience of past strikes has shown that it is not worth waiting for an immediate massive strike. However, when it is prepared, the strike will have the most serious consequences for Ukraine.

▫️The AFU continued unsuccessful attempts at offensive actions in Donetsk and Krasny Liman directions.
▫️In Donetsk direction, as a result of actions by units of the Yug Group of Forces, 13 enemy attacks have been successfully repelled close to Berestovoye, Belogorovka, Kurdyumovka, Pervomaiskoye and Maryinka DPR.
▫️Ammunition depots of the Liman Operational-Tactical Group, the 53rd Mechanised Brigade and the 25th Airborne Brigade of the AFU have been destroyed close to Novoyegorovka LPR, Kramatorsk and Vodyanoye DPR.
▫️The enemy losses were up to 320 servicemen, 2 AFVs, 3 motor vehicles, 1 U.S.-manufactured M777 artillery system, 1 Polish-manufactured Krab self-propelled artillery system, 1 Msta-B howitzer, 2 Rapira anti-tank guns, and 1 U.S.-manufactured AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radar station.
▫️In Krasny Liman direction, units of the Tsentr Group of Forces launched attacks on AFU units near Chervonopopovka LPR, Terny, Yampolovka and Grigorovka DPR.
▫️2 enemy attacks have been repelled close to Chervonaya Dibrova and Karmazinovka LPR.
▫️The activities of 2 SRG have been disrupted close to Novomikhailovka DPR and Chervonaya Dibrova LPR.
▫️The enemy losses were up to 60 servicemen, 2 AFVs, 4 motor vehicles, 1 U.S.-manufactured M777 artillery system, and 1 D-30 howitzer.
▫️In South Donetsk direction, as a result of actions by the Vostok Group of Forces, AFU manpower and hardware have been defeated close to Urozhaynoye and Levadnoye (Zaporozhye region).
▫️In Zaporozhye direction, as a result of coordinated actions by Russian troops, enemy manpower and hardware concentration areas have been hit close to Marfopol, Novosyolovka, Shcherbaki and Pyatikhatki (Zaporozhye region).
▫️In addition, the actions of 1 SRG have been disrupted close to Charivnoye (Zaporozhye region).
▫️The enemy losses were up to 240 servicemen, 2 AFVs, 2 motor vehicles, 1 U.S.-manufactured M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery system, 3 Msta-B howitzers, 1 Akatsiya self-propelled artillery system, and 1 D-30 howitzer.
▫️1 ammunition depot of the AFU 33th Mechanised Brigade has been destroyed near Malaya Tokmachka (Zaporozhye region).
▫️In Kupyansk direction, as a result of action by units of the Zapad Group of Forces, AFU units have been hit close to Novosyolovskoye and Stelmakhovka LPR, Sinkovka and Ivanovka (Kharkov region).
▫️The enemy losses were up to 35 servicemen, 4 AFVs, 2 motor vehicles, 1 D-20 howitzer, and 1 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system.
▫️In Kherson direction, the enemy losses were up to 40 servicemen, 8 motor vehicles, 1 Verba multiple-launch rocket system and 1 Akatsiya self-propelled artillery system.
▫️Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have neutralised 73 AFU artillery units at their firing positions, manpower and hardware in 68 areas.
▫️1 fuel depot for the military hardware of the Liman Operational-Tactical Group has been destroyed near Kramatorsk (Donetsk People's Republic).
▫️Air defence facilities have intercepted 3 Storm Shadow cruise missiles and 3 HIMARS multiple-launch rocket system projectiles.
▫️In addition, 19 UAVs have been destroyed close to Zaliman, Ploshchanka, Shipilovka LPT, Vodyanoye, Nikolskoye DPR, Removka, Lyubimovka (Zaporozhye region) and Korsunka (Kherson region).

Attack on the Crimean bridge. Events Chronicle July 17, 2023 ▪️In the early morning on July 17, an explosion occurred on the bridge over the Kerch Strait, connecting the Crimean peninsula and Krasnodar region. The terrorist attack was carried out with the use of marine drones and was organized by Ukrainian security services.

Thanks for the first video as I hadn't seen the train's POV. Although tens of thousands of Russians have died on the front line, I expect this family will become a poster child, a reason to amp up action, beginning with massive retaliation.
For me, each notable strike is sad, for those killed and for those who will die in response.
