New modernized Ka-52M combat helicopter of the VKS army aviation.
The helicopter received a modernized turret with an optical-electronic target designation station GOES-451M, an updated onboard communication system BKS-50M, as well as a weapon control system SUO-806PM, capable of using new weapons, as well as a new BKO L418 “Monoblock”.
The most significant addition to the helicopter's armament is the integration of the LMUR guided missile with a range of up to 14.5 km.
Zin Note: I asked our contributor, Subaru, to help me with the technicals:
The M has:
1. More advanced target-sensor package (Select targets at longer range or in more difficult conditions)
2. New radio complex (better encryption, more data bandwidth etc)
3. New system for controlling weapons (adds compatibility for new weapons systems)
4. New & more advanced threat detection sensors (incoming missiles etc)
Here's an article with more detail about the Ka-52M upgrades

Why are the Armed Forces of Ukraine trying to evacuate damaged Western equipment: analysis of the Military Chronicle
Part 1 of 2
Not all tanks or infantry fighting vehicles can be returned from the battlefield, but leaving them after defeat is even more dangerous.
What happened?
On November 7, an interesting video (https://t.me/voenacher/55958) appeared in which the Ukrainian military evacuated a presumably burning US-made Stryker armored personnel carrier from the battlefield. The damaged vehicle was allegedly hit by an FPV drone while being towed and caught fire.
These armored personnel carriers were used by the 82nd separate airborne assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the battles near the village of Rabotino in the Zaporozhye direction and were actively hit by Russian ATGM and artillery fire. This is not the first time that the emphasis when evacuating equipment from the battlefield is on Western equipment. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to remove almost all the equipment, even burnt-out skeletons and debris. In order for this process to proceed more quickly, specialists from the Polish company Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa are working among the Ukrainian military, about whom Military Chronicle spoke in detail (https://t.me/milchronicles/2417) earlier.
Why are the Armed Forces of Ukraine trying to evacuate damaged Western equipment: analysis of the Military Chronicle
Why is this happening?
Humanistic and political considerations aside, the conflict in Ukraine is a huge testing ground where participant-subjects directly or through proxies test new forms of combat, tactics and weapons. For Western countries, the destroyed equipment, as well as the circumstances of its destruction, may be of interest for two reasons.
Firstly, for a significant part of Western weapons, the conflict in Ukraine is the first serious war in which a wide range of weapons, both Soviet-style and modern, are used. Studying the specifics of their impact on technology can be very useful, and there may not be a second chance like this.
Secondly, the technology uses ammunition that did not exist at the time of its development, under conditions that also did not exist in armed conflicts. These include “Telnik” tank rounds, KM-8 “Gran” guided mines, loitering ammunition and much more. The use of these ammunition on Ukrainian equipment developed and built abroad may become the subject of study, after which the creators of military equipment will be able to determine directions for further development.
Another reason for continuous attempts to evacuate equipment from the battlefield may be the reluctance to demonstrate high losses. Using the example of the “roads of death” (https://t.me/milchronicles/2657) in the Rabotino-Verbovoe and Kleshcheevka-Andreevka sections, one can be convinced that the longer the damaged equipment remains in place, the higher the likelihood that it will end up on camera lenses. This is especially true for Western technology, since that is what is shown in the footage. In addition, a large amount of destroyed Ukrainian Armed Forces equipment is used as a prop for filming commercials of the Russian Armed Forces, which further enhances the psychological effect on foreign viewers and indicates that Russian troops pay a lot of attention to the evacuation of Western equipment from the battlefield.
What other reasons are there?
One of the most important reasons why the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to pull even those types of equipment from the battlefield that cannot be restored is manufacturing technology. Even from very badly damaged equipment it is possible to obtain some components or spare parts. In particular, there are known cases when the APU removed road wheels and some engine components from burnt T-64 and T-72 tanks. It is curious that one of the latest episodes (https://t.me/milchronicles/2302) involving the seizure of a Swedish CV-90 infantry fighting vehicle was accompanied by an attempt by Ukrainian Armed Forces technicians to evacuate a damaged vehicle, stuffed with proprietary (national) technologies. It is noteworthy that the greatest interest in the evacuation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is shown in vehicles with fire capabilities: American M2 Bradley ODS-SA infantry fighting vehicle, Swedish CV-90 infantry fighting vehicle, American Stryker armored personnel carrier and M109 self-propelled guns, German Leopard 2 tanks, Polish AHS Krab self-propelled guns and PT-91 tanks Twardy. Indirectly, this speaks of the order by any means to prevent damaged and destroyed vehicles from falling into the hands of the Russian military.

❗️The influx of foreign mercenaries into the Armed Forces of Ukraine has decreased by more than half
According to Come and See , the flow of foreign mercenaries into the Ukrainian army began to dry up.
“In general, more than twice as much as in the fall of last year,” said the channel’s source.
According to him, this is due to high losses, corruption in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and lack of prospects.
“An alternative hot spot has also emerged in Israel,” he added.
This information is indirectly confirmed by civilians in the Kharkov region.
“Foreigners are almost invisible in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It’s becoming less and less common to hear Polish or English spoken,” a resident of the front-line region told Come and See.

Our Army is currently continuing a large-scale assault on the northern flank in the area of the Petrovsky and Avdeevsky Coke and Chemical Plants
Fighting continues in Marinka .
The Ukrainian Armed Forces still hold the western outskirts of the former city. The positions of the Russian Armed Forces are located in the area of Friendship Avenue and to the west. Part of the low-rise private sector development is in the gray zone.
However, fighting periodically occurs in the remaining ruins. The parties are making attempts to expand the zone of control.
In general, the situation has not changed globally over time. To effectively control Marinka's supply routes, it is necessary to advance from the flanks and in the surrounding area.

The truth about Ukraine “awkwardly spilled out”: Zelensky and Zaluzhny quarreled over problems at the front
The failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' counteroffensive created tension between Ukraine's top officials that "uncomfortably spilled over," The Washington Post reports .
First, Zelensky had a fight with the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valery Zaluzhny, because of his hateful column in The Economist. One of the president's aides went so far as to accuse the general of working for the Russians.
After this, Zelensky himself called for an end to political strife. And just in case... canceled the elections.
All this news undermines the morale of Ukrainians. As is the winter, which promises to be even harsher than the previous one. In Kyiv, they believe that with the onset of cold weather, Russia will resume attacks on infrastructure. This will make life for Ukrainians “unbearable in the coldest months of the year.”

#WashingtonPost (https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2023/11/08/ukraine-zelensky-zaluzhny-russia-war/)
The United States has no funds left to directly finance Kyiv, and Zelensky does not care about the possible collapse of the Ukrainian economy - he continues to ask for military assistance
The US government has no funds left to continue direct budgetary support to Kyiv, said assistant to the head of USAID Erin McKee. If the United States does not allocate a new package of economic assistance, then, according to the official, the Ukrainian authorities will have to resort to issuing money, which could lead to hyperinflation. Also, Kyiv will soon be unable to pay salaries to critical employees, which will cause serious damage to the military industry and the entire sector as a whole.
In addition, if Congress does not approve additional funding for Kiev, then US humanitarian organizations in Ukraine will have to reduce the humanitarian aid they provide by 75% or completely fold. Thus, Kiev faces a choice - food or guns.
And quite expectedly, Ukraine chose guns - Zelensky ignored the threat of collapse and asked the United States for access to American military technologies to establish joint production of weapons. Distributing humanitarian aid and paying salaries are far from being priorities in a state that exists only for the sake of war.

🔴Video from Avdeevka today.
🌟 Avdeevka direction situation as of 21:00 MSK on November 8, 2023
🔴Today the Russian Army resumed large-scale assault operations on the two flanks of the Avdeevka direction. All day long our assault groups have been advancing towards each other, in a double envelopment, metre by metre.
🔴 On the southern flank, with the support of heavy artillery and MLRS, our assault groups managed to advance 700-800 metres north of the village of Vodyanoye, and there was also movement in the area of Pervomayskoye and Tonenkoye.
🔴 On the northern flank there were active assaults in the area of Stepovoye (Petrovskoye) and the Avdeevsky Koksokhimicheskiy Zavod (Avdeevka Coke-coal Chemical Plant, or AKKhZ). According to some reports, the first assault groups managed to enter directly into the territory of the plant.
Advancement on the northern flank constituted over a kilometre.

Regarding Avdeevka
(maps approximate and meant to be illustrative only).
The strategy of double envelopment and the formation of a proper cauldron/encirclement requires the formation of two contours: the internal and the external one.
Any breakthrough and encirclement that results in a single contour is perilous for the attacking side.
The external contour is meant to safeguard the flanks of the cauldron and the units operating against the surrounded enemy force and tasked with forcing its surrender or eliminating it.
The two maps provide a possible schematic of the double-contoured encirclement of Avdeevka. As you may note, the interior line (Vodyanoye-Tonenkoye-Orlovka-Stepovoye) passes through harder-to supply areas that are vulnerable to the Ukrainian defensive force’s artillery and to attacks from both within the bag and from without.
The exterior line (Pervomayskoye-Netailovo-Umanskoye-Semyonovka-Berdychi) would then safeguard the force dealing with Avdeevka and give it time to complete the task.
A single-contoured envelopment is fruitless, particularly when the enemy is able to bring reserves relatively easily and at least matches the attackers in numbers.
Accordingly, when the TG channels talk about “6 km remaining” to the formation of the Avdeevka cauldron, this may be quite misleading. Ideally, the formation of both contours ought to proceed in tandem. The 6km left is on the interior contour. The exterior one is much further from formation.

Russia will respond by deploying a company of Lancets deep in the rear to create not only parity but also superiority in offensive capabilities.
It's funny how the millstones have turned.
At one time the USSR was caught in such an arms race - SOI, Star Wars, and then with the slogan "oil instead of tanks" they blew up the rear, taking a round in the "Cold War".
Now NATO is in the same pluck, having to rebuild its industry on military rails in an attempt to catch up with Russia, but for some reason it is preparing for the last war, which, to put it mildly, is a bit outdated.
This is where the critical lag in high technology from the East Horde barbarians with their rusty Kalashovs came to light.
At the same time, their industry no longer has cheap raw materials and energy resources, qualified personnel and free labor, which further tilts this three-wheeled cart with an Alzheimer's driver towards the roadside ditch.

There are 40 percent more women serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces now than in 2021: Ukrainian women are being agitated to go to the front because of high losses in the AFU. Women serve as machine gunners, tankers, snipers and truck drivers, and the age limit for female recruits has been raised from 40 to 60.
