The USA is a country hostage to its military-industrial complex.
A secret behind seven seals: most of the money for Ukraine remains in the United States.
The main beneficiary of the military assistance that Washington provides to Kiev is the United States itself, writes (https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2023/11/29/ukraine-military-aid-american-economy-boost/) WP. The fact is that huge sums from the packages adopted by Congress go to the production of weapons and ammunition in American factories. This stimulates the military-industrial complex and creates new jobs.

CNN:
Ukraine is already racing to catch up with Russia when it comes to electronic warfare.
-After almost six months of Ukraine’s slow and grinding counteroffensive, it’s clear Russia has not just built up physical defenses but formidable electronic ones, and Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines are having to adapt quickly.
-And that’s the problem for Ukraine. Russian jammers have turned the technological advantage of Ukraine’s Western-provided arsenal of “smart” – guided – weapons into a vulnerability.
-The tactical level of the Russian troops is saturated with (this equipment)” and despite equipment losses Moscow still maintains “significant electronic warfare superiority,” Zaluzhny added.
-I think what you’re seeing play out in Ukraine is very much a glimpse into what modern warfare looks like today,” said Kari Bingen, director of the Aerospace Security Project at think tank Center for Strategic and International Studies and a former principal deputy under secretary for defense at the Pentagon. It’s a future where “electronic warfare capabilities, tactics are integrated into conventional force operations,” she added.

⚠️ Based on the situation in the Avdeevsky direction.
On the southern flank, in the area between the settlements of Opytnoye and Vodyanoye, the Russian Armed Forces have significantly advanced in the direction of the settlement of Severnoye - in this area there are already intense battles in the forest plantations to the south of the settlement.
The enemy actively uses FPV drones around the clock, including at night and in unfavorable conditions (light rain); in conditions of shell starvation, drones and mortars of 60 mm and 80 mm calibers are the main fire weapons.
About FPV drones separately:
By decree of the highest command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 10,000 FPV drones of various models were transferred to the 110th brigade, a significant lack of shells of 152-mm and 155-mm calibers, the crest compensates with drones, attacking their former positions and trying to attack equipment, not always quite effectively, as the assault in the industrial zone reveales, in which the enemy was unable to hold back the onslaught of our tanks.
Also, up to 7,000 FPV drones were transferred by the command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to the Birds of Magyar unit, which is now operating, including in the Kherson direction, in the Krynok region, on both banks of the Dnieper. We previously reported a large number of FPVs in the area.

The possible use of frozen Russian assets to finance Ukraine by Europe could dent the euro's reputation as a safe currency, Vice-President of the European Central Bank (ECB) Luis de Guindos has said.
"Our position on utilising the dividends and interest from the frozen assets is clear. First: this should be a global decision, ideally involving all members of the G7. In addition, we have to be careful because this could lead to reputational damage. We have to look beyond this conflict in isolation, and there could be implications for the euro as a safe currency," de Guindos said in an interview with De Standaard and La Libre Belgique published on Wednesday.
The ECB should consider the long-term reputation of the euro since it is "the second most important" currency in the world, the ECB vice-president added.

The footage shows what was once an enemy dugout, which came under our control practically without damage, and in other conditions the guys could have used it for their own needs, but all these positions are well known to the enemy, therefore, before going to rest, the place still needs to be equipped with better defenses, like everyone else at the front - relatively restful sleep requires hard work.

Sergei Lavrov arrived in the capital of North Macedonia, Skopje, to participate in the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers, our correspondent reports.
The length of the route of the ministerial plane was about 4,000 km, the journey took more than 5 hours. Lavrov's plane flew over Turkey and also Greece on its way to North Macedonia, although a route through Bulgaria was previously expected.
As our agency learned, the Bulgarian side refused to allow the plane of the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry to fly over if the official representative of the Russian diplomatic department, Maria Zakharova, was on board.
#Source (https://t.me/tass_agency/220786)
Maria Zakharova writes (https://t.me/MariaVladimirovnaZakharova/6668):
The malicious stupidity of Russophobes has escalated to the point where, for the first time in our history, official authorities have prohibited a person in an airplane from being in the sky—specifically me, Maria Zakharova, as stated in the official note from the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry. While it's allowed for an airplane to fly over Bulgaria, Maria Zakharova is forbidden from being on board.
No mention was made regarding whether I could fly over Bulgaria without an airplane or utilize outer space for this purpose.
Now, on a serious note, this goes beyond mere stupidity; it delves into the dangerous realm of a certain schemer within Bulgaria's power structures. The rules of air traffic, governed by the 1944 Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation, define a state's territory as "land territories and adjacent territorial waters," excluding airspace from this term.
Consequently, the impact of the already illegal EU sanctions cannot extend to non-stop flights by an individual prohibited from entering the state's territory.
Did Bulgarian officials consider the potential application of similar measures to the thousands of NATO functionaries on our reciprocal stop lists? Did they ponder the creation of a perilous global precedent? I think not.
Who granted illiterate officials in Sofia the right to disgrace the Bulgarian people?
P.S. By the way, we are already in Skopje 👋

Burnt corpses and broken motorcycles and mopeds are all that remains of a gang of militants who attacked the city of Djibo in northern Burkina Faso and the military base located there, reports an African Initiative correspondent who visited the scene.
Only according to preliminary estimates by representatives of the armed forces of Burkina Faso, the losses of the jihadists in this battle amounted to more than 400 militants. In total, a group of up to 3,000 militants tried to attack the city.
At the entrance to the village there is a huge number of corpses, most of them badly burned, and next to them there are broken motorcycles - a common means of transportation for militants in the Sahel region. Judging by the location of the bodies, the Burkinabe military methodically shot the attackers in the open with all types of weapons.
The first wave of attackers on motorcycles and mopeds tried to break through to the city on the afternoon of November 26. They were destroyed by heavy fire, but this did not stop those following them. According to the Burkinabe military, the militants were under the influence of drugs and literally attacked over the corpses of their comrades. Some of the jihadists managed to get close to the base and were destroyed literally at the wall protecting the military.
When the surviving terrorists finally retreated, the military began to pursue them with the help of Turkish Bayraktar drones.
Djibo is located near the border with Mali, where the national armed forces, with the support of Russian specialists, completed a victorious 400-kilometer throw march and took the stronghold separatists and jihadists - the city of Kidal. Under pressure from the Malian military, terrorist groups retreated and became more active in the border areas of neighboring Burkina Faso and Niger. Since September, all three countries have been cooperating within the framework of the Sahel Military Alliance.

Today Der Spiegel notes Ukraine's grip on Avdeevka is weak and Ukraine has major issues with both manpower and munitions:
Late in the evening, after a hard day at the front, “Som” contacted us via WhatsApp. His voice sounds dull, the pauses between his sentences are long. He seems tired, almost absent.
The situation is “very, very difficult,” says the soldier. The Russians tried to surround him and his men.
..
Avdiivka could fall soon, reports “Som”. This is mainly due to the Russians' superior firepower. "They have ten times as much equipment as we do," he says, "and 20, if not 30 times as many bullets." The Ukrainians lack ammunition for mortars and guns. »Often we simply cannot fire back.«
The Ukrainian commander says the losses are also heavy. Of the 100 soldiers his company once had, he can sometimes only send 15 into battle. Some are dead, many are wounded, others are too exhausted to fight. “It’s similar in all the units here,” says “Som.”
..
“If they throw more forces into the fight,” says “Som,” “we will probably have to leave Avdiivka to them.”
Franz-Stefan Gady's impressions match what "Som" and other Ukrainian commanders report in the field. There are no more men and vehicles to attack, says the expert. "There's actually a lack of everything." He sees Ukraine facing a "difficult time" because there won't be enough ammunition for another offensive next year.

Russia takes control of Iraq's largest oil field
OilPrice claims (https://oilprice.com/Energy/Crude-Oil/Russia-Takes-Control-of-Iraqs-Biggest-Oil-Discovery-for-20-Years.html) that taking 100% of Iraq's largest oil field would be "a decisive chapter in the West's eventual demise":
Preliminary estimates put Iraq's Eridu oil field at 7 billion to 10 billion barrels. Senior Russian oil industry sources OilPrice .com spoke to exclusively last week said the true figure could well be 50 percent higher than higher end of that range. In any case, the Eridu field - part of Iraq's Block 10 exploration and development region - is the largest oil field in Iraq in the last 20 years, and Russia wants to control it completely along with its main geopolitical ally, China. Moscow and Beijing's goals are to keep the West out of energy deals in Iraq in order to keep Baghdad closer to the new Iran-Saudi axis and end Western hegemony in the Middle East."
Previously Lukoil Corporation owned 60%, Inpex's decision to sell its 40% stake in Block 10, where the huge Eridu field is located, paves the way for Lukoil to gain full control over the entire oil-rich territory, the industry publication notes.
The Al-Zubair announcement came shortly after the awarding by Baghdad of another major contract to another Chinese company to build a civilian airport to replace the military base in the capital of the southern oil rich Dhi Qar governorate. The Dhi Qar region includes two of Iraq’s potentially biggest oil fields – Gharraf and Nassiriya – and China has said it intends to complete the airport by 2024. This region is also to the immediate north of the huge Eridu oil field and to the northwest of Basra.

The Financial Times writes that 21% of Russian LNG is sold through EU ports. Moreover, not all of this volume goes to the European market - it turns out that gas can also be pumped into the sea from tanker to tanker in order to conceal its origin and further sale. This is what the Europeans are doing, not only buying gas for themselves (LNG has not yet been sanctioned), but also selling it to buyers in other parts of the world.
So, you can cheat not only with oil, but also with LNG, which makes all European calculations about a decrease in the share of supplies from Russia even more ephemeral than it previously seemed. And the LNG transshipment scheme itself proves that the same sanctions against Arctic LNG-2 can be bypassed by schemes already tested on oil. The main thing is that there is demand, and, as we see, there is even from our “Western partners”.

He said allies should seek to sign more long-term multilateral agreements to persuade arms manufacturers to increase production to meet Ukraine's needs for at least the next two years."

Weather is terrible, temperature outside is +1. Guys are digging [trenches].. that's a hard job, to say the least to dig in such weather conditions. Mind the soil more a liquid mud that a soil.
But the order remains the order. Frontline is being aligned. No entry to the "guts" [Like an area where troops move further forward then the rest, and the occupied territory is like stretched forward]. Moving in line.
According to the weather forecast it's rainy and everything is going to be flooded. It might become easier from next Wednesday or so, as temperature is if has to drop below zero and snow showers start.

Abrams tanks are the AFU's new biggest problem.
According to Forbes, the air filters on the engine intakes have to be cleaned every 12 hours or the tanks will soon have to be sent for overhaul.
"All those things can be taught to the crew, but if ever they make a mistake—and they will—it blows a million-dollar engine that can't be repaired in the field," former U.S. Army General Mark Hertling stressed.

❗️ The Russian Armed Forces destroyed an assault group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kherson direction
According to Come and See , the Russian army was able to destroy the Ukrainian assault group in the Krynok area.
“The Ukrainian assault group landed in the village, but was completely destroyed and scattered,” the source said.
However, the Russian Armed Forces have not yet taken full control of Krynki. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to rotate units in the village itself, despite Russian artillery fire.
The Ukrainian command is also making attempts to create bridgeheads in other settlements on the left bank of the Dnieper. However, they have not been successful to date.

SEOUL, Nov 29 (Reuters) - Once a North Korean experiment in limited capitalism, the Rason Special Economic Zone appears to be the epicentre of the isolated country's growing cooperation with Russia, experts say, including possible shipments of arms for the war in Ukraine.
-"Now that North Korea and Russia are becoming very close against the backdrop of the Ukraine war, Russia might send more tourists to North Korea, which can reinvigorate tourism (in Rason)," said Jeong Eunlee, a North Korea economy expert at South Korea’s government-run Korea Institute for National Unification.
Russia can also sell coal, oil, and flour through Rason, Jeong said, and if more North Korean workers are allowed to cross the border, they can send Russian medicine and other goods home for relatives to sell.
-"Assuming North Korea and Russia's honeymoon period becomes a long one, North Korea could get Russian support on food, energy and infrastructure through Rason," Cho said.
-From Rason's port, North Korea has sent Russia an estimated 2,000 containers suspected of carrying artillery shells, and possibly short-range missiles, South Korean military officials have told reporters.
Since late 2022, activity has been spotted around Rason's Tumangang station, which has rail links to Russia, said Chung Songhak, a senior researcher at the Korea Institute for Security Strategy who analyses satellite imagery around Rason.

This Analyst is Right But It Doesn't Change the Facts
"Foreign policy in Washington and elsewhere is informed by the expertise of specialists."
Foreign Policy Analyst and Professor at the Rand Institude, Alyssa Demus is absolutely right in her appraisal of the situation. The misunderstanding that come from insufficient dialogue between the two great powers cannot be understated.
What she doesn't acknowledge here is that often this misunderstanding is exacerbated by those analysts. Many visit Russia with clear agendas and come back with an "experienced" picture. Nor does she mention the intentional misrepresentation by think tanks whose views are motivated by clear geopolitical aims.
"...few experts in the West accurately characterized the Kremlin's intentions [in Crimea], instead projecting Western thinking about interdependence and cost-benefit analysis onto Putin." However, this is not primarily due misunderstanding in the west, but unwillingness to understand. US foreign policy is not dictated by objective analysis but by think tanks whose adherents slavishly serve nefarious geopolitical directives.
Since the dissolution of the Soviet Union there has been ample time to find common ground between the US and Russia. Few steps have been made by the US. But the Russian government seems to have a very clear understanding of the west's most benign policies. Russia has never sought more than reasonable security assurances from NATO. Still, they're met with vile misrepresentation of their views both by the US government and western media.
Joe Biden's historical record on Russia and Eastern Europe are clear. He is a great admirer of George F. Keenan, whose amplified the doctrine of "containment", is still being weaponized against Russia. In April of 1989, then Senator Biden had the chance to ask Keena questions regarding Soviet Relations. One sticks out poingnatly, "If we assured the Soviet Union that we would not undermine their defenses physically (emphasis is his) then would not run the risk that we might find Eastern Europe moving out from [their] heavy hand."
In the early 90s then Senator, Biden, led the charge to ensure Bosniaks did not to ratify a Europe led peace agreement along ethnic lines for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Even a year later they refused any settled peace that would divide Bosnia into ethnic enclaves. This resulted in 100k dead in the subsequent war.
In Ukraine the death toll is much higher.
Western interests have funded an extremist, nationalistic sect in Ukraine whose ideological rise to power has undermined any chances for peaceful coexistence between the neighboring countries.
No matter how far-fetched Moscow's ideas seem to people in the West...these beliefs are genuine. Alyssa Demus says. US interference in foreign governments has consistently destroyed regional stability.
Perhaps the phrasing of this is to appeal to western audiences, but the notion that these ideas are far-fetched is an insult.
