▪️ Zelensky replaced the commander-in-chief of the AFU. Zaluzhny was dismissed, he was replaced by Syrsky;

▪️ On Thursday, as a result of negotiations, 100 Russian military personnel who faced mortal danger in Ukrainian captivity were returned, 100 prisoners of war of the AFU were transferred to #Kiev, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) said;

▪️ According to MoD, the AFU lost up to 750 militants killed and wounded in total over the day. In the #Krasnyliman direction, the position along the frontline has been improved, and in the #Donetsk direction, more advantageous positions have been occupied. An Ukrainian Su-25 was shot down near #Novotroitskoye in the #DPR;

▪️ An AFU drone attacked a bus with civilians in the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka, #Belgorod region, one person received shrapnel wounds, the governor said. Also, according to him, five people were injured during the Ukrainian shelling of the village of #Rzhevki, Shebekinsky district;

▪️ In #Orenburg, they said goodbye to the deceased crew members of the Il-76 plane, shot down by the AFU near #Belgorod, the relatives of the victims were awarded the Order of Courage;

▪️ Air defence systems destroyed an Ukrainian drone over the territory of #Crimea at night. At about 16:30, a drone was shot down over the #Belgorod region, MoD said;

▪️ Eight shells of the Ukrainian MLRS 'Uragan' and another four MLRS 'Alder' were shot down over the #Belgorod region on Thursday evening, MoD reported;

▪️ The MoD proposed to establish a single maximum age for service for contract soldiers during mobilisation and martial law. For senior officers it will be 70 years, for other categories, 65 years;

▪️ In Ukrainian #Dnepropetrovsk, a special-purpose regiment of the national police was disbanded due to refusal to go to the front, said the deputy head of the national police.

Escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Zone until the End of 8 February 2024⚡️

🔹In the north of the #Gaza Strip, incursions by Palestinian forces into the eastern parts of the city continue. Israeli troops, in turn, are launching massive attacks both on Gaza itself and its suburbs.

🔹In the central regions of the enclave, the situation has not undergone significant changes. Positional battles are taking place near Al-Maghazi and Al-Brej, and neither side is taking active offensive actions.

🔹In Khan Yunis, the sides are still fighting in the central and western areas of the city. And massive artillery and air strikes are being carried out on Rafah. Several dozen people died in the populated area alone overnight.

🔹On the #Lebanon - #Israel border, the exchange of blows continues. One of Hezbollah's hits hit the Israeli headquarters in Kiryat Shmona. Three soldiers were injured. In turn, the Israeli Air Force fired a missile at Nabatiyeh, killing one senior member of the Lebanese group.

🔹And in the Middle East, another round of aggravation occurred. As a result of an US Air Force strike on Baghdad, one of the leaders of the pro-Iranian group Kataib Hezbollah, Abu Bakr al-Saadi, was killed, as well as three of his companions. Against the backdrop of the attack in #Iraq, there was renewed talk of the withdrawal of foreign troops from the country.
