Escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Zone until the End of 20 April 2024⚡️

On the hook: why US cannot abandon Russia's unique nuclear fuel HALEU
President Joe Biden announced on Friday that a domestic US firm had managed to produce its first 200 pounds (90 kilograms) of high-assay low-enriched uranium (HALEU), insisting that the US could no longer rely on Russia's nuclear fuel. Is the US ready to dump it?
The future of the US nuclear industry depends on HALEU – uranium enriched to between 5 percent and 20 percent — which allows smaller designs of reactors with longer operating cycles and increased efficiencies over their predecessors.
In 2020 the US Department of Energy (DOE) projected that more than 40 metric tons of HALEU will be needed before the end of the decade — with additional amounts required each year — to launch a new fleet of advanced reactors in the US and meet Washington's net-zero targets by 2050.
According to Biden, the plant in Ohio will produce "nearly a ton by the end of the year" – a far cry from the declared goal. In the most optimistic scenario it would take at least five years for the US or its Western allies to launch the production of HALEU on a commercial scale. That will not be an easy task, given that US production of nuclear materials has been in steep decline since the 2000s.
The crux of the matter is that Russia has a monopoly on HALEU: only Tenex, part of Russia's Rosatom corporation, sells the fuel on a commercial basis.
That may be why the Prohibiting Russian Uranium Imports Act is still stalled in the US Senate. Even if passed, the legislation would allow a temporary waiver until January 2028 and does not target high-assay low-enriched uranium.
Despite threatening to stop buying Russian uranium, the EU and the US actually doubled purchases of the fuel from the nation in 2023 as they are struggling to step up their own uranium enrichment and meet 2050 zero-net targets.

🔵On the #Zaporozhye Front, the RFAF Federation, with the support of long range weapons, continue to actively put pressure on the AFU defence in the area of #Rabotino and northwest of #Verbovoye. (Fig. 1)
🔵On the #Donetsk Front, the RFAF knocked out the garrison remnants of Ukrainian passport from #Novomikhaylovka. Now the defence of the AFU will be held in the neighbouring #Paraskoviyevka.
🟡Fierce fighting continues in #Georgiyevka and #Krasnogorovka. In both cases, the RFAF actively use aviation and artillery, and in both cases there are tactical successes of Russian troops on the ground.
🟡In #Netaylovo, there are oncoming battles. A similar situation is on the outskirts of #Umanskoye.
🟡The remnants of the AFU were knocked out of #Semyonovka. The Ukrainian garrison in #Berdychi, apparently, will not last long either, but it still remains in the settlement, under the blows of Russian aviation.
🟡Oncoming battles in the area of #Novobakhmutovka and #Ochertino. In #Novokalinovo, the RFAF continue assault operations from the eastern side of the settlement. There are advances. (Fig. 2)

Russia conquers the sky
After two years of grueling work targeting enemy air defense systems, deceptive maneuvers with false targets, as well as the use of combined strike tactics that emasculate enemy anti-aircraft installations, we can finally talk about this at the moment , although there was still a beautiful report from TV on this topic in 2022.

Yesterday evening, footage appeared of the second series of strikes by the Russian Armed Forces on the outskirts of Dnipro over the past three days. One of the targets again was the city's airfield, where as a result of an accurate missile strike, a MiG-29 fighter of the Ukrainian Air Force was destroyed.

Moreover, one of the targets hit was at a distance of 120 km from the line of contact - this is a new record for this type of strike with air visual objective control since the start of the SMO. This, in turn, is again clear evidence of the growing combat capabilities of the Russian Armed Forces.

🪖 What does taking Bogdanovka give us?
The capture of Bogdanovka gives our troops additional logistics capabilities and the ability to cover the village. Chasov Yar further from the north and exits through forested areas to the Seversky Donets - Donbass canal.
Also, the presence of a large number of basements in a populated area will make it possible to place fire weapons and drone operators closer, move reserves closer and continue further assault operations.

Part I
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.
▫️The units of the Zapad Group of Forces have taken more advantageous lines and defeated manpower and hardware of 14th mechanised, 68th jaeger, 57th motorised infantry brigades of the AFU and the 110th Brigade of the AFU close to Novoegorovka and Novosyolovskoye (Lugansk People's Republic), as well as Olivovsky Yar.
The enemy losses were up to 50 soldiers, one infantry fighting vehicle, and two motor vehicles.
In addition, in the course of counter-battery warfare, one 155-mm M777 howitzer and two U.S.-made 105-mm M119 guns, two 152-mm Msta-B howitzers, one 152-mm Akatsiya self-propelled artillery system, one 122-mm Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, four 122-mm D-30 howitzers, one 100-mm MT-12 Rapira anti-tank gun, one Grad multiple-launch rocket system, and one U.S.-made AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery warfare radar station were destroyed.
▫️The units of the Yug Group of Forces have completely liberated Bogdanovka (Donetsk People's Republic), improved the position along the front line and inflicted a fire defeat on manpower and hardware of the AFU 53rd Mechanised Brigade close to Krasnogorovka (Donetsk People's Republic).
In addition, two counterattacks by formations of the AFU 93rd Mechanised Brigade have been repelled near Chasov Yar and to the west of Krasnoye (Donetsk People's Republic).
The enemy losses were up to 440 troops, three motor vehicles, and one Osa-AKM surface-to-air missile system.
In the course of counter-battery warfare, one 152-mm D-20 gun, one Grad multiple-launch rocket system, two Nota electronic warfare stations, and five enemy field ammunition depots were destroyed.
▫️The units of the Tsentr Group of Forces have actively improved their tactical position and inflicted a comprehensive fire attack on manpower and hardware of the 3rd Assault Brigade and the 24th Mechanised Brigade of the AFU near Leninskoye and Novokalinovo (Donetsk People's Republic).
During the day, eight counterattacks by assault groups of the 59th Motorised Infantry Brigade, 30th, 115th mechanised, 68th, and 71st jaeger brigades of the AFU have been repulsed close to Novobakhmutovka, Umanskoye, Shumy, Novgorodskoye, and Pervomayskoye (Donetsk People's Republic).
The AFU losses were up to 360 troops, one armoured fighting vehicle, eight motor vehicles, one U.S.-made 155-mm M777 howitzer, and one fuel depot for military hardware.
▫️The units of the Vostok Group of Forces have taken more advantageous lines and defeated manpower and hardware of the 58th AFU Motor Infantry Brigade and the 128th Territorial Defence Brigade near Staromayorskoye and Urozhaynoye (Donetsk People's Republic).
The enemy losses were up to 100 servicemen, two armoured fighting vehicles, five motor vehicles, one UK-made 155-mm FH-70 howitzer, one 122-mm D-30 howitzer, and two Nota electronic warfare stations.
▫️The units of the Dnepr Group of Forces have inflicted a fire defeat on manpower and hardware concentration areas of the 23rd Brigade of the National Guard and the 121st Brigade of the Territorial Defence of Ukraine near Vysshetarasovka and Nikopol (Dnepropetrovsk region), Berislav and Zolotaya Balka (Kherson region).
The enemy losses were up to 50 troops, four motor vehicles, and one U.S.-made 175-mm M107 self-propelled artillery system.

▫️Operational-Tactical Aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Russian Groups of Forces have destroyed MiG-29 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force at the Dnepr airfield, as well as one control centre, one air target detection radar, and one launcher of the S-300PS surface-to-air missile system.
In addition, one production workshop for unmanned aerial vehicles, one surveillance radar with the Pelikan phased antenna array, as well as AFU manpower and military hardware in 104 areas.
▫️Air defence facilities have shot down 194 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles and eight HIMARS and Uragan multiple-launch rocket systems projectiles.
📊In total, 592 airplanes and 270 helicopters, 22,289 unmanned aerial vehicles, 508 air defence missile systems, 15,816 tanks and other armoured combat vehicles, 1,269 combat vehicles equipped with MRLS, 9,008 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 21,205 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation.

Mi-8PSG helicopter search and rescue group continue to fulfil tasks in Severodonetsk direction
In the course of the special military operation, specialists of a search and rescue group provide daily support to crews of Ground-Attack and Army aviation.
This unit includes a fire support group and a medical officer. Its main tasks are continuous observation of the situation, evacuation and rescue of pilots, and their transport to a military medical facility.

💣 An engineering reconnaissance unit is sent on a combat mission every night to demine the front line. While working, the soldiers detected an enemy FPV drone with an RPG round attached to it. With accurate small arms fire, the AFU drone was shot down, but the shell did not explode. The commander unit decided to destroy it with a pressure charge.

🔴 In the #ChasovYar direction, on the western outskirts of #Bogdanovka, on the territory of the Stupki-Golubovskiye 2 Reserve and beyond #Ivanovskoye active military operations continue. Without significant changes.
🔴 In the #Pokrovskoye direction (formerly #Avdeyevka), there are battles for #Novokalinovo, the southern part of #Ocheretino and in the direction of the Domakha Beam on the territory of abandoned orchards south of #Pervomayskoye.

Military assistance to the Kyiv regime is direct sponsorship of terrorist activity,” Zakharova wrote on Telegram. “To Taiwan, it is interference in China’s internal affairs. To Israel, it is a road straight to escalation and an unprecedented rise in tension in the region.”

Russian troops continue to test the enemy's railway infrastructure . Tonight, two Iskander-M missiles struck the territory of the Zaporozhye Electric Locomotive Repair Plant .
It is known that the assembly and electrical machine shops of the enterprise were destroyed by the blows.
The assembly shop's capacities were used to repair heavy armored vehicles , and on the territory of the electric machine shop a parking lot was organized for equipment that was awaiting repair.

🔹The RFAF carried out several targeted strikes on various targets in enemy-controlled territory. The targets were military infrastructure facilities, including production facilities.
