Curators of the Turkish ALTAY tank development project said that work on the tank is continuing and a total of 250 tanks will be produced under the project.

It was noted that the engine and transmission section will be supplied from South Korea until the Turkish engine is mastered. To date, 85 MTOs will be imported from South Korea.

Note: Altay is a common name for villages in Turkey. It is also a common surname and even a first name. It comes also an important General names Fahrettin Altay.
