It is reported that the Project 22160 patrol ship "Pavel Derzhavin" was attacked by a naval underwater drone in Sevastopol Bay, as a result of which it was damaged.
However, it is officially stated as follows:
“Scheduled mine and anti-sabotage defense exercises are being conducted at the roadstead of Sevastopol Bay,” the information support department of the Black Sea Fleet reported.

“During the exercises in Sevastopol, we worked out the tasks of searching and destroying sea floating mines and unmanned boats. The patrol ship Pavel Derzhavin and anti-sabotage boats were involved in the exercises, then they will return to their deployment point.”
At the moment, from the footage published in hokhlopubliki, it does not look like it was badly damaged. Well, as for the black smoke, this is the exhaust from a running 16D49 diesel engine.
By the way, this is why the stern of the ship is painted black.

The US government officially claims that the DPRK recently delivered more than 1,000 containers with weapons and ammunition to Russia.
The White House today released satellite images that allegedly show cargo from a North Korean ammunition depot was loaded onto a Russian-flagged ship and then transported by rail to a warehouse near the town of Tikhoretsk in the Krasnodar region.
According to John Kirby, in exchange, North Korea expects to be provided with modern Russian fighter jets, anti-aircraft missiles and other advanced technologies.
Previously, it was reported about a sharp increase in railway traffic between Russia and the DPRK after the meeting between Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un.

Quoting the ISW, a source biased in favour of Ukraine, it mentions Russia gained 4,52 km2 in the last two days.
It also seems to be concerned about the future, mentioning that Avdeevka can hold on while encircled for a long time like Mariupol. (My comment here, a very outlandish claim considering that the two areas are different in terrain, size, and that it was Azovstal, and not the entire city, that took so long to be cleaned.
It also remembers the offensive happens against the backdrop of Ukraine's stalled counteroffensive.

Highlights of Russian Military Operation in Ukraine on October 11-12
▪️Russian troops have launched strikes with the Geran-2 kamikaze drones in Odesa region.
In Izmail, a loading terminal and the territory of a cannery used by the AFU for military purposes came under fire.
▪️The AFU have massively shelled border settlements in the Bryansk region.
In the Suzemka settlement, residential houses and civilian infrastructure were damaged and four people were injured by shrapnel.
▪️Russian air defenses intercepted an enemy drone on its approach to Belgorod.
Its wreckage damaged residential houses: three people were killed, including a child, and two others were injured.
▪️In the Kup'yans'k sector, Russian units occupied several AFU strongholds near Syn'kivka.
To the southeast, the assault troops also managed to advance towards Ivanivka and Kyslivka.
▪️In the Donetsk direction, Russian servicemen are continuing their operation to cover the Avdiivka fortified area.
On the northern flank, they have managed to occupy a heap, which is an important stronghold at a dominant height.
▪️To the west, Russian assault troops broke through the enemy's defenses and entered the village of Petrivka.
At the moment, fighting continues in the village itself, at least part of it remains under AFU control.
▪️On the southern flank, Russian troops are attacking enemy positions on the outskirts of Avdiivka.
Assault groups have occupied a section of the railroad near the Tsarska Ohota restaurant, which has been turned into an AFU stronghold.

With persistent daily training, Moisey learned to walk again (and even do burpees) and is now again serving in the ranks of the Don Rescue Center.
As the Ministry of Emergency Situations told Sputnik, the captain, as before, is engaged in demining new regions of Russia: “Who, if not us? If we sit back, civilians will suffer.”

Hamas’ Operation Al-Aqsa Flood was meticulously planned. The launch date was conditioned by two triggering factors.
First was Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flaunting his ‘New Middle East’ map at the UN General Assembly in September, in which he completely erased Palestine and made a mockery of every single UN resolution on the subject.
Second are the serial provocations at the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, including the straw that broke the camel’s back: two days before Al-Aqsa Flood, on 5 October, at least 800 Israeli settlers launched an assault around the mosque, beating pilgrims, destroying Palestinian shops, all under the observation of Israeli security forces.
Everyone with a functioning brain knows Al-Aqsa is a definitive red line, not just for Palestinians, but for the entire Arab and Muslim worlds.
The situation on the fronts over the past 24 hours:
Svatovo-Kremennaya direction:
No changes in the Kupyansk sector. Our forces are gradually advancing in Sinkovka and Kislovka. Russian fighters also launched attacks in the direction of Ivanovka and Makeyevka. Also there have been successes at Torskoye and in the Serebryanka area.
Donetsk direction:
In the Avdeevka section, the Russian army continues to assault the positions of the AFU in the Berdychi area. Our forces have launched an attack in the direction of Severnoye. There is fighting to the northeast of the coke plant. Furthermore, our fighters, with aviation support, attacked in the area of Novomikhailovka.
Zaporozhye direction:
On the Orekhov section, militants attacked near Novoprokopovka, while our fighters counterattacked near Verbovoye. At the Vremevsky outpost, the Russian army launched an attack from the direction of Novodonetskoye.

🇺🇸🇨🇳 US eyes weapons stockpiles as concern grows about supporting both Ukraine and Israel’s wars
Concern is growing within the Pentagon over the potential need to stretch its increasingly scarce ammunition stockpiles to support Ukraine and Israel in two separate wars, according to multiple US defense officials.
At the moment Ukraine and Israel require different weapons: Ukraine wants massive amounts of artillery ammunition while Israel has requested precision guided aerial munitions and Iron Dome interceptors.
But if Israel launches a ground incursion into Gaza, the Israeli military will create a new and entirely unexpected demand for 155mm artillery ammunition and other weapons at a time when the US and its allies and partners have been stretched thin from more than 18 months of fighting in Ukraine.

The MSM's Ukraine neo-Nazi Amnesia
As Russia invaded Ukraine, the entire MSM joined in lockstep to give us a narrative. An important part of the narrative was that Russia’s claim that Neo-Nazi’s are a force in Ukraine is a Kremlin lie. It is a narrative that is easily unraveled by the MSM’s own past articles. So far, no MSM outlets are willing to discuss this ugly truth today. Anyone interfering with the narrative is said to be ‘Speaking Putin’s Talking Points’.

Seventh day of the war, October 13th, status update and major events:
– Renlentless bombing campaign in Gaza continues; Israel drops leaflets asking residents of Gaza City to evacuate to areas in the south of the Gaza strip. Later on, Israel bombed a civilian convoy on a road that Israel promised not to target, resulting in at least 70 deaths.
– All areas around the Gaza strip have been cleared of Hamas fighters, based on the evidence that is currently available. No more successful infiltrations were reported.
– Iran's Foreign Minister met with the Secretary General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut.
– Massive protests in support of Palestine were held around the world, particularly in Muslim nations such as Iraq, Iran, Yemen and Jordan.
– The Israeli settlement of Metula near the Lebanese border was declared a closed military zone by the IDF.
– Sporadic small rocket barrages against Israeli cities. Hamas also launched one long range Ayyash 250 missile into the direction of Haifa, which hit a chemical production plant.
– Hezbollah announced that it targeted three Israeli settlements near the Lebanese border with armed fighters using small arms, and says it inflicted casualties upon the IDF.
– In a response to the Hezbollah attack, the IDF fired artillery at South Lebanon, destroying one Lebanese army observation tower. In response to this, the Lebanese army fired artillery back at Israel.
– Israeli artillery, or possibly a hellfire missile fired by an IAF attack helicopter, killed a Reuters journalist in South Lebanon and heavily injured three other journalists belonging to Al-Jazeera.
– The IDF announced that it carried out drone strikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.

Chronicle of a special military operation
for October 13, 2023
Today, Ukrainian underwater unmanned drones attacked the patrol ship "Pavel Derzhavin" near Sevastopol Bay. One of them caused minor damage to the steering part, but the ship's crew was able to independently take it to the Novorossiysk area.
In the Donetsk direction, fighting continues in the Avdeevsky fortified area.
Russian military personnel had to leave part of the previously occupied waste heap north of Avdeevka.
Clashes are also taking place on the outskirts of the villages of Berdychi and Stepovoye, but without significant success - the advance is complicated by the extensive network of fortifications in the area.
In the Orekhovsky sector, AFU periodically make attempts to penetrate deeper into the defensive formations of the Russian Armed Forces, but so far without significant success.
In the Kherson direction, the AFU are preparing for active operations on the left bank of the Dnieper, transferring fresh forces.

➖British artillery pieces delivered to Ukraine are silent on the battlefield due to a lack of ammunition for them. Ukrainian soldiers trained by NATO instructors to fire L119 howitzers are forced to fire them less than once a day due to a “catastrophic” shortage of shells.

What could be the Israeli ground operation in the Gaza Strip: Part 1
If the Israeli leadership decides to launch a ground operation, the IDF will have to choose between a bad and very bad scenario.
Will there be a ground operation?
A large-scale ground operation is one possible scenario, but it is not at all certain that it will be chosen. Perhaps the Israeli leadership will choose a less radical option with the establishment of a complete blockade of the enclave and private operations to destroy identified Hamas militants and free the hostages.
Why is a ground operation necessary?
It may be required for physical control of the territory of the Palestinian enclave, without which it is impossible to destroy the personnel and infrastructure of the Hamas movement. Carrying out these tasks without the presence of ground forces “on the ground” is impossible. However, deciding on a large-scale ground operation is not easy for many reasons.
Which ones?
First, Israel will have to fight in a super-urbanized area of 365 square meters. km, where more than 2 million people live in dense urban areas. This environment minimizes the IDF's advantages in reconnaissance, aviation, and heavy equipment.
Secondly, after a series of Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, a significant number of residents are ready to join the ranks of Hamas. In fact, the Islamists sit on a huge and well-motivated mobilization reserve. According to various estimates, from 250 thousand to 600 thousand Palestinians of different ages could take up arms in Gaza.
Thirdly, the IDF forces, despite the concentration of forces, have not yet encountered active opposition from well-armed groups. Apparently, Israel needed the mobilization of 320 thousand people to respond to possible attempts at external intervention and take into account the potential involvement in the conflict of Hezbollah, the IRGC, as well as Muslim volunteers from neighboring countries - Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria, and Iraq.
If additional troops and weapons arrive from these countries to fight on the side of the Palestinians, the current level of mobilization may not be enough for Israel.
Fourthly, the death of high-ranking officers of the Golani and Nahal ground brigades, along with their personnel, showed that Israel is only partially prepared for large-scale, and especially urban, battles. The training of reservists and even regular forces is uneven, and not all units are ready for active combat operations. This is evidenced, for example, by repeated cases of “friendly fire” between units of Israeli security forces that have been recorded in recent days. At the same time, the Israeli army does not have time for additional training and combat coordination of the mobilized.
What could this lead to?
The ground battle for Gaza will be neither easy nor quick. Everyone, including Tel Aviv, understands this well. The operation will require Israel to attract significant resources - human, material, and political.
In addition, the ground operation will most likely be extremely bloody. It is now difficult to predict the level of losses, but the experience of the battles of the US Army for Mosul or the Syrian Army for Aleppo suggests that we will be talking about tens of thousands of killed and wounded.
However, it should be emphasized that Israel has historically been more sensitive to losses than its opponents. There is a possibility that a protracted operation coupled with high casualties could hurt public and political support.
A detailed analysis of the features of the IDF operation in the Gaza Strip will come soon in the second part of the analysis.
What could be the Israeli ground operation in the Gaza Strip: Part 2.
The difficulties that the Israeli army may encounter in the future may leave their mark on the conduct of the ground operation.
Is the Israeli army ready to fight in the city?
In the first part we touched on the general conditions of a ground operation; now it is necessary to analyze the terrain and conditions in which the IDF and Hamas will have to operate against each other.
A significant portion of IDF soldiers and reservists have not been trained to fight in an urban environment, or this training is no longer sufficient. For example, under normal conditions, IDF soldiers expect their flanks to be covered, a secure rear, and stable communications with command and neighboring units. However, in urban battles such conditions will not exist. In the case of the IDF, units prepared for operations in urban areas can be found in the YAMAM police special forces and other anti-terrorism groups, but for the most part, the IDF is poorly prepared for a full-scale war in the city.
The psychological factor is no less important. Any window, any piece of concrete, or passage can be a source of danger. Using the example of the failure of the Delta special forces in Somalia, as well as the US Army’s battles for Mosul or Fallujah in Iraq, it has been proven that soldiers quickly get tired of constant stress and can break down psychologically.
It is necessary to prepare for battles in such conditions, both individually and collectively. The Israeli army does not have such massive training, and there was nowhere for it to appear, since operations of this scale had not been planned for many years.
What are the features of battles in an urban environment?
Urban combat is three- and even four-dimensional. Every soldier must expect that an attack will come not only from the front, rear, or flanks but also from above or below. In addition, by indiscriminate bombing of the Gaza Strip, the IDF created (or at least aggravated) another problem - it increased the motivation of the local population for armed struggle. While in Iraq, Syria, or Afghanistan the armies had to deal with neutral rather than hostile populations in the theater of operations, in Gaza the vast majority of the population is radically opposed to Israel. This, in turn, means that there will be no safe zones for the IDF, and Hamas will have eyes, ears, and fighters everywhere.
How will the terrain affect the battles?
If a ground operation were to begin, the IDF would have to operate in dense residential areas, which would significantly limit maneuver. But the destroyed city complicates it even more.
In such conditions, it will no longer be possible to bring a mechanized brigade into the destroyed street, since it will have nowhere to turn around. This means that the main combat operations will have to be carried out by assault groups - sometimes with the support of armored vehicles, sometimes with the support of aviation or artillery. But the advantages of the mass of equipment, the advantages of high-precision weapons, and the advantages of air surveillance in this case will be practically reduced to nothing.
Hamas, on the contrary, has a developed network of communications on the ground and underground in Gaza. Given that the movement's members operate on their own territory, as well as the knowledge of communications and the support of the population, Hamas will be able to maneuver its forces relatively easily and strike where they are not expected.
In addition, Hamas strikes on Israel have shown that small drones, suicide bombers, a variety of anti-tank weapons, and mines/IEDs can quickly be included in an attack pattern. Even physically clearing a sector of all living things does not guarantee its safety: enemy groups can, for example, reach the rear through underground communications or disappear among civilians and carry out a series of terrorist attacks.

Regarding the possible reduction in supplies of 155-mm shells to Ukraine due to Israel’s operation in the Gaza Strip, the following must be understood.
Western calibers, primarily 155 mm, are currently the main and critically important for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, especially when it comes to counter-battery warfare.
They are especially urgently needed (and will continue to be in demand) against the background of the depletion of the Soviet-style artillery fleet of 122 and 152 mm calibers, both due to high losses due to wear and tear, and the impossibility of repair.
Currently, the United States produces about 28 thousand 155 mm shells every month. The pre-war production level of 155 mm shells by all EU countries was estimated at 230 thousand units. The current level of production in EU countries is not precisely known.
The withdrawal of at least half of the 155 mm ammunition supplied to Ukraine in favor of Israel could lead to at least many consequences.
Firstly, it should be emphasized that only Western 155 mm caliber artillery is capable of using high-precision and long-range ammunition. A reduction in the supply of 155 mm ammunition could limit or completely deprive the Ukrainian Armed Forces of the ability to fire at distances exceeding 25-30 km, as well as to use high-precision guided projectiles.
Secondly, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be forced to ration the supply of ammunition, which will limit the use of the most effective part of the artillery fleet. This may cause a decrease in the number of shellings of both military and civilian targets.
In the worst-case scenario for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, some areas will have to be left without artillery support at all. Ukrainian artillery, extremely dependent on Western artillery, will gradually begin to lose the ability to effectively support the actions of its troops both in attack and defense, which will sooner or later affect the operational situation at the front.
However, we note that much depends on how quickly the process of reducing supplies will be and how large the ammunition reserves accumulated by the Ukrainian Armed Forces are.

Free speech Western style: Facebook massively purging Palestinian groups and news channels
There is information in the Turkish media that the extremist organization Meta*, against the backdrop of the conflict in Gaza, is carrying out mass purges on the social network Facebook. Only pro-Palestinian accounts were hit, while pro-Israel ones continued their activities freely.
The administration reportedly blocked the account of Gaza Now, which was the largest Palestinian news channel with 12 million subscribers. The channel's backup account with 1.3 million subscribers is still operational. Facebook also announced that it had removed about 800 accounts that expressed support for Palestine.
Since the beginning of the SMO, nothing has changed in the activities of Meta*: the corporation still silences the mouths of one of the parties to the conflict, which the United States declared “wrong.” Coupled with the news that the White House is sponsoring Israel with weapons and preparing a military operation in Gaza, the overseas “elves” should no longer count on good neighborly relations with Muslims.
*The organization is banned in the Russian Federation

🇷🇺 Ukrainian prisoner says more than half of AFU company destroyed in Zaporozhye
Russian fighters have destroyed more than half of the 5th company of the 117th separate mechanized brigade of the AFU in the Zaporozhye region. This was stated by Ukrainian prisoner of war Alexander Ben. According to him, in the Rabotino area, the AFU losses amounted to more than 60 percent.
"Just a few days, and from the company of 106 men only 40 were left. And that's not in the assaults. We were just sitting in trenches, defending ourselves," he explained and added that the bulk of the forces were lost to shelling.
Ben also said that the AFU had recently experienced serious difficulties with food at the front.

🇺🇸🇮🇱🇵🇸 The US is concerned that the Israeli government is not prepared for the consequences of a large-scale invasion - Bloomberg
The White House fears that Israel does not have a plan for what will happen next to Gaza after the invasion, forcing them to think beyond the immediate goal of eradicating Hamas. Biden's team also raised concerns about Israel's demand to evacuate residents of the northern Gaza Strip within 24 hours, a deadline that both the EU and UN consider unrealistic.
Without a clear endpoint, Israel's worst crisis in 50 years could become a regional conflagration that the US and its allies will struggle to contain.
“They need a strategic plan for Gaza, and it's clear that the plan they've been executing essentially for the last several years hasn't worked,” said Seth Moulton, a Massachusetts Democrat and member of the House Armed Services Committee. Israel needs "a long-term strategy for Gaza that is more effective than anything they have done in the last 15 years," he said.

Statements by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict at a press conference in Lebanon:
▪️Any step taken by Israel against the Palestinians will lead to serious conflict.
▪️A political decision can be made before the situation gets out of control, but it may be too late.
▪️If war crimes stop and the parties agree on a ceasefire, then it will be the forces of “resistance” (Palestinian note) that will determine its terms.
▪️We are in constant consultation with allies in the region but do not interfere in their plans and actions.
▪️The resistance can defend itself, and we will take all necessary diplomatic measures to stop the aggression and lift the blockade of Gaza.
▪️No one can impose their will on the Palestinian people.
▪️The world is responsible for the war crimes committed by Israel.
▪️Israel will not be able to emerge victorious from this war.

Analyzing the development of the Israeli armed forces, one cannot help but ignore the interesting organization of their tank units and formations. They are made “pure” - Israeli tank battalions and brigades do not have their infantry and artillery, and, if necessary, mechanized units are assigned.
Where does this lead? To put it simply, Israel has had problems with infantry escorting tanks for a long time, in 1982 many problems arose because of this, and in 2006, and now they also arose. Without infantry nearby, any tank is vulnerable, no matter if it was the BT in 1939, the T-34 in 1941, the Patton or Centurion in 1973 or 1982, or the Merkava now.
The usual justification for this practice begins with “Well, the country is small, everything is nearby, and there are no problems establishing interaction.” This excuse usually shows a deep misunderstanding of the specifics of military service. A conventionally taken regiment in town N with a separate battalion stationed in the same town across the fence from this regiment will interact worse (virtually in no way) than with a regular battalion of the same regiment but moved to a separate base one hundred kilometers from the rest of the units. For the simple reason that the commander is in any case constantly connected with his regular units and regularly goes through the entire cycle of combat training (formally or in reality - that’s another question), and with the neighboring unit - very occasionally when the high authorities set the task. And not out of harm, but because a commander who does his job and is appropriate for his position consistently lacks 8 hours in a day, and a couple more days in a week. And his chief of staff too.
As a result, when the hour comes, it turns out that the interaction of tanks and infantry in combined arms combat has been worked out... well, somehow worked out. Even greater problems arise in this regard with artillery, close and continuous interaction with which has become the alpha and omega of modern warfare, without which success is unthinkable.
And this ground operation in Gaza, in general, has not yet begun.

We’re looking for feedback on our coverage of the last few days.
Most of the YouTube and web articles publishers we include here are covering both conflicts in a mixed fashion. Regardless of the poll, we need to keep including them, or miss some Russia-Ukraine coverage.
Much of the Telegram, Open Source, and Twitter content can easily be adjusted.
With the above in mind, please vote on an option below:
The first option ‘Russia-Ukraine & Gaza-Israel as is’ would mean you are good with how the last few days reporting have been.
The second option ‘Russia-Ukraine more’ means you want some Gaza-Israel, but less than what you’ve seen here in the last few days.
The third option ‘Russia-Ukraine only’ would mean you don’t want our Gaza-Israel coverage.
